We ordered all cheese pizzas on special for the kids and then ordered some of the specialty pizzas for the adults (Popeye, Mezza Luna, Margereta and Meat Lovers). A hidden gem tucked in the back corner of a non-descript shopping center in western Lake Worth. Three of us went for dinner on a Friday night. Although we made a reservation, the restaurant was never more than half-full during our time there. It's a small restaurant, and in "season", it does get crowded so reservations are a good idea. The service was exceptional, the food was top-notch and there were plenty of leftovers to take home. We each ordered chicken parmigiana with penne pasta. The chicken was tender and not over-cooked. The red sauce was flavorful and a bit on the sweet side. And the pasta was cooked just right. The extensive menu offered several chicken dishes as well as a nice variety of traditional Italian entrees. The cream of chicken soup was filled with plenty of chicken and a nice selection of veggies and potato pieces in a light cream broth. The rolls - both plain and with garlic & oil - were exceptional. I'm always looking for someplace new, and in a Yelp scan of Italian restaurants, this one came up in my area. We arrived on a Saturday night at 7 p.m. It is currently off-season down here and the place was packed. That's always a good sign in the off-season. My first impressions were that this was kind of a small restaurant, and it seemed like people were sitting on top of each other. Then my nose got involved. I immediately smelled garlic, parmesan, and oregano and I knew something good was about to happen. Even though we had a reservation for 7 p.m., they weren't ready for us, and we stood in the doorway for a good five minutes before we were even acknowledged. When we were finally seated it was another 10 minutes before we even got water and menus. The place was packed so I gave them a little leeway on this. I am 50 years old, but as I looked around the restaurant I realized that other than the wait staff I was the youngest person in the restaurant. This was definitely a "white hair special" place. Not that that means bad. While we were sitting there, a couple of few tables away we're fidgeting with their phone showing it to the waitress while they were paying their check. I realized that there might have been an online deal, so when the waitress walked away, I walked over to the table and verified that they were using a Groupon. So before the waitress came to take our order, I scrambled to the website and was able to snag a $40 certificate for $25. Yay me! Dinners are flat price of $15.99 if you pay cash or $16.99 if you use a credit card or Groupon. Dinner includes garlic knots, soup or salad, and a beverage. I ordered a veal and eggplant parmigiana combo with angel hair pasta in butter. They had a choice of minestrone or cream of chicken soup. I tried the latter and suggest that it be called chicken chowder instead. It was very good and loaded with vegetables. My tablemate ordered minestrone soup and Chicken Cacciatore over linguine. They came out about 15 minutes later to say they were out of linguine but could substitute Angel hair. We also ordered salads ala carte. It was an extra $2.75 each, but we had the Groupon so we had some free money. The portions here are outrageous. When my plate was delivered as you see in the picture, there were two full portions - one of veal parmesan and 1 of eggplant parmesan. Certainly enough to share. Had to be at least a third to a half pound of angel hair pasta. My tablemate's bowl was packed with pasta and cacciatore. Neither of us finished our entrees and had to take the leftovers home. The veal portion was very generous and extremely tender. I did ask one if I could have chicken instead of veal, and even though it's a less expensive protein , I was told it would be an additional $2.50 so I declined. Everything was delicious, but there was too much tomato sauce on my dish, and the sauce was very sweet. I prefer a less sugary marinara with a little bit more acidity. If I were to order this dish again, and I probably would, I would tell them less sauce. They use of very good grade of tasty mozzarella, and I could just go back for some melted cheese! As we had the free money, we added desserts to our meal. My tablemate ordered carrot cake, and I ordered cannoli. For $4 the carrot cake was small and he reported that it was and dry and would not order it again. My plate was very visually appealing with three cannoli and whipped cream covered with a coating of cinnamon and chocolate syrup. The cannoli cream was dry and airy. I would not order them again. So the review sounds pretty good, so why only three stars? Technically, I would give it three and a half Stars, but that's not an option. If the service were better, I would have given it four stars. The Waitresses were inattentive and there were two bus people working. One of them did not speak English so it was hard to communicate if you didn't speak Spanish, and a male busboy had a huge attitude problem. Everything from more bread to soda refills had to be asked for and took a long time to receive. So the question every yelper wants to ask, would you go back again? Yes, I absolutely would - even without a Groupon. I look forward to trying something else next time that doesn't involve their marinara sauce. In a restaurant filled with old people, everybody was taking home leftovers and nobody was complaining about the food. read more

The food is tasty (using Northeastern standards such as comparing the food to NY and NJ Italian food). The pizza is well above average.The garlic knots are one of the best, totally wet with oil and nearly dripping. The service is also friendly and the time it takes to get served is quite reasonable.
