We also loved the appetizers -- the fresh spring rolls were light and refreshing, and the crispy egg rolls were perfectly crunchy which I love because one of the ingredients is taro roots. The vermicelli noodles with short ribs and eEgg rolls were another standout dish-I requested to substitute with short ribs with the BBQ pork and the chef was happily accommodated it. The service was warm and welcoming. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. They even serve this filtered water from a fancy machine; there is a poster of an ad of the machine. We have tried a lot of the menu items throughout the years; our favorites are: - combination pho - rare steak and meatballs pho - oxtails soup/pho - grilled pork chop rice - crispy spring rolls - summer rolls - beef salad (my wife's favorite, she orders it every time) - roasted pork and lemon grass chicken banh mi sandwiches - roasted pork and spring roll vermicelli bowl - the special combo wrap (very tasty but you have to wrap it yourself; some may think it is fun, but I am lazy and prefer to have it made and ready to eat) The prices are very reasonable, they haven't raised the prices much even when the food cost keeps going up. I believe they have some deserts, but we have never tried any, because their portion sizes are generous and we're usually too full to think about deserts. Park is s street parking, but we usually park in the municipal lot across the street. The rate is very reasonable, a couple dollars for a couple of hours. It is credit card only; there is no parking attendant, you pay using the paid machines in the middle of the lot or at the gates. I hope you will give Saigon a try, I think you will love it too.

Located on the corner of Campbell Avenue and Kapahulu Avenue, we kind of knew that parking would be challenging. The small shared lot in the back only has about 8 parking stalls. We found metered street parking in front of Saint Mark's Episcopal Church which is free after 6pm. Service could be better. Maybe English as a second language was the barrier. I was given a soiled spoon - the server walked away after I told her, but I was able to use the fork and disposable chopsticks. We had to ask twice if the bill could be split. That's ok... it eventually got done and we weren't in a rush. I ordered vermicelli with grilled shrimp (which had a nice smokey essence) and Spring Rolls which were crunchy and tasty. It's too bad that some parts of the noodles were clumsy. There was a small dry area, too. However, the veggies were fresh and plentiful! We enjoyed our experience!

Which...it did lead me to a place in town that I have been contemplating on last couple years, Pho Kapahulu. I came into this with curious expectations, and yet...the place truly delivered. The workers were very friendly and accommodating with the choices to pick on the menu, but, because it has been a somewhat cold day in recent weeks, I went with a direction that made the most sense in this, and got the Oxtail Pho. I gotta be honest, for what I got for $19, it was worth it. They definitely gave me a good amount of Oxtail, which is a plus. And, it was super filling considering it was a nice portion for lunch. All in all though, the experience was great. I liked it. I highly recommend coming here if you want to check out something interesting for Vietnamese food in the Kapahulu area. Maybe next time, I'll hope to come and try something different there, like one of their rice plates, maybe the Bahn Mi...there's a lot of possibilities to go on with this. 10/10

I told her that I didn't get a chance to dine at this old school place called Pho Kapahulu. She was up for the challenge! The main obstacle was finding street parking. We went up and down residential streets and found a stall about a block and a half away. Inside the cozy restaurant, the decor was simple and the service was polite and efficient. We got yummy Summer Rolls to share. They were fresh and healthy! I got vermicelli with yummy grilled shrimp and Spring Rolls that were just ok. They surprised us with complimentary ube pastry.
