Some people judge others by what brands of shoes and clothes they wear, I judge others by what…read morebrand of food they feed their pets. There's a ton of brands of dog/cat food but the difference between the brands sold here and let's say, Pet Supplies plus, vs what's being sold at Petsmart... is quality. If you shop here, you're very demure, very mindful. Let's be friends. So, I love my dog so much that I started taking canine nutrition courses. I've learned a lot about their diet and all, because I want to feed my pets the best and figure out from those brands that meet the standard I'm looking for, and see what fits my budget. A lot of the brands that canine nutritionists and very knowledgeable dog lovers in general, recommend and personally use, are sold at Centinela. I find it very interesting that they don't have most these brands at Petsmart or Petco. With the exception of a few like Nulo, or Merrick, etc. I would love to see Open Farm or Farmina ND at Petco! Anyway, I like that these brands that I love and support and will always be using are accessible here for a quick pickup, and I don't have to wait for an online order to be delivered. I was trying to explain to my friend what the difference is between those big stores and these smaller ones. I like to refer to these types of stores as holistic. Only holistic vets will actually commend you for going out of your way to do research on what you're buying and what's on the ingredient list. I went to a vet a few years ago and I brought the open farm bag of kibble and she just looked and it and didn't comment anything. Later pushed for hills science diet, yeah ok. She DID comment on how my dog was the healthiest she had ever seen of that breed. Yeah doc, cause I don't feed her hills science diet. So if I have to take my dog to a holistic vet so be it. There's no need to be said that these brands can be pricey. If you sign up for the rewards you can score some discounts. Just recently they had an in store cyber Monday weekend and there were such great deals! The customer service here is also very mention worthy. The staff is always so friendly and knowledgeable. When I started doing research on dog food I spoke with a staff member here and she was giving me such incredible feedback on canine nutrition that aligns with what I want to prioritize for my dog. Meanwhile if you ask Petsmart employees they are clueless and point you towards Royal Canin. Thanks Centinela for existing in my neighborhood! See you soon.

This review is based purely on my experience with the self doggy wash. Having lost the Fullerton…read morelocation, this was the closest place to use my doggy wash card. I love that it's close enough to Rosie's Dog Beach that you can take your buddy here right after to get off all the sand. There were two rooms with wash stations and one area to dry the dog off with an air blower. Compared to the Fullerton location, I didn't like that they lacked drying stations, but at least there was one. It was super busy the day I took my dog (Thurday afternoon), but I was able to nab that spot and try to dry off my dog quickly since all the wash stations were being used, including the one I had just left. The wash stations seemed clean enough despite being super busy and I got everything I needed. Just be sure to ask for a short leash so you don't get yours soaked.

Cross posting this review, but it is an important message to share…read more Golden State Hay recently moved and with the move has new ownership. From what I understand, a wonderful large family with many children owned it previously, and now transferred ownership. I had a horrible experience there this morning, when I went to buy materials for our 4H lamb. I have a 5 month old newborn, and also two young boys (3 and 2) and I asked if they had a chair anywhere in the shop to nurse my baby. I was told they would get me one in the back, and I waited 5 minutes so decided to sit on a bucket and nurse, which was discretely done so under my sweater. The female owner came out and told me to nurse in my car, and I told her no, seeing that my baby was currently nursing. As I was checking out, she said "In the future you cannot nurse in her. This is about common decency, and protecting the innocence of children, and you made my husband uncomfortable and he had to leave". I told her if I hadn't told her I was nursing, she wouldn't have even known, that is how discreet I was and modest I was, and she said it did not matter, that it was about "protection of innocence." I have truly never had a worse experience in a shop, and have never been treated this way in my 12 years as a mother. Again, my baby is a newborn, and I was discreetly nursing her under a sweater. I sadly cannot support a shop who does not support mothers and families, and who makes their customers feel shameful for feeding their newborn babies.
