I ordered a bottle of Caymus cabernet, server looked confused; took almost 15 minutes to deliver the wine, was given the excuse that they just put it on the menu; and? Food was subpar, think Maggiano's quality meets Claim Jumper portions. My friend asked our server for bread at least three times, server said that someone kept stealing her bread; lame excuse after lame excuse. The calazone, while visually impressive was extremely disappointing; too much dough and mushrooms were cold and raw; zero layering of flavors, just overstuffed with too much cheese and filling. I had high hopes for this place, but unfortunately they did not meet expectations. Smaller portions of well executed food is the way to go, but one look around at the demographic explains their approach of quantity vs quality. Will not be back. read more

Portions are very big. I got the lasagna and the tomato sauce was a little bit over the top (as you can see in the pic) but the lasagna was decent overall. The shrimp scampi was very good! I would not get the tiramisu again-- I didn't even know there was liqueur in it, but once I tasted it, it made sense why I couldn't stand the flavor. The service was excellent especially since it was a 50 person work event. And the ambience was a nice cozy outdoor seating which remained warm during the evening. After happily going to this restaurant repeatedly for over 15 years, I will not return. I had the chicken parmigiana and it was dry, thin, burnt, and frankly the worst I've ever had. All the cook did was smother it in mozzarella cheese. Pasta was ok, nothing special. Overall prices are on the high side for what you get. (Individual glasses of wine are way overpriced.) When we picked up our meal (ready within 20 mins-super fast), it came with a side house salad and bread! Didn't realize we were getting a salad & bread with our meals -great deal!!! We shared the meals among us three so I got to try each dish. The ravioli was full of flavor and the amount of pesto was perfect!!! Glad they gave us bread to soak up the extra sauce. If you are looking for a great Italian place with a homey, comfortable feel and an extensive menu, this place is for you. Walked in as a party of 4 with no reservation. Although the wait time was supposed to be 30-35 minutes and there seemed to be plenty of people waiting around, we were seated in less than 15 minutes. The inside is interestingly decorated, and our waiter even sent over the owner to tell the story behind one of the pictures hanging on the wall of him as a kid in Italy. We ordered spaghetti with marinara, Pasta Gianni, and the calzone with mushrooms, onions, and pepperoni inside. The flavors were amazing, but the calzone is enough to serve at least 3-4 people or one VERY hungry man (see photo for proof). The only thing I have to say negatively is that the service in terms of clearing dishes, refilling water, etc. was slow. Other than that, a great experience with friendly staff. Felt like I was a Soprano! Lastly, we had an extensive argument over whether a painting in there (attached) was intended to be Elvis Presley or not. We have been going to Roma's for 15 to 20 years. Absolutely love the place. It is a model of consistency. The baked lasagna is the "go to" for me, but everything on the menu is good. My son can't get enough of the bruschetta. Two thumbs up! read more

I love this place!! It has cozy ambiance. No reservations so get there about a half hour before the time you want to be seated. Now about the food. That's Italian! We started with mozzarella cheese bread - awesome layer of cheese toasted just right. We ordered wedding soup, chicken Alfredo, eggplant parmigiana on pasta with red sauce, and cannoli for dessert (has mini chocolate chips and ricotta crème). Buon gusto! After our yearly day after Christmas bike ride from Sunset Beach to Newport Peninsula and back, we are always looking for some place relatively local to have dinner before our dive home. My wife and I really like this little Italian place we had noticed just down the way. This is a quaint little local Italian place where we sat on the enclosed patio with some heaters. We ordered the house special, Lobster Ravioli with shrimp in some really delicious lemon garlic bisque with sun dried tomatoes and one Pasta Tombrello with simi-spicy Italian sausage with mushrooms in Blanco Diavolo sauce. Both meals were absolutely delicious and you couldn't ask for anything better. There was a lot of flavor in the Ravioli and bisque and a bit of spice with the Italian sausage to go with the flavor in the Blanco Diavolo sauce. Easily one of the best Italian meals I have had in a long time. The salads served with meal were also very good and worked well with the hot bread and wine we ordered. The service as a bit off and I will contribute that to the way things are with Covid but was adequate enough. If you are down in Sunset Beach area, I really recommend Romano Cucina for a really good authentic Italian meal by the beach. I think we will be heading back there next time we make this ride at the beach. read more

On top of that, I was unfortunate enough to find non food items inside my so called "bolognese sauce". The black pieces are rubber, I chewed it so I can confirm that. Check out the pictures. The manager decided to take 15 minutes to come out to address it, which is completely unprofessional, since we should have been able to leave sooner. My wife and I found this place 2 years ago and we can't get enough. The best Italian food hands down. The staff is always friendly and quick. We have tried every plate and was never disappointed. The pizza I love that they make it with a nice crust. The soup and the salad are delicious. Always get pepper in the soup night and day difference. They have different cheese cakes every month I believe but The lemon Cheese cake is so good. Really good flavorful food is hard to find these days. The ambiance is casual and comfortable can fell right at home. The weather was perfect for an outdoor dinning, the the only thing is that the patio doesn't have insulation and it was quite LOUD!! You will like this place if you don't know what traditional Italian food is like. So called bolognese way too acidic tasting, no soffritto. What they serve is a meat sauce NOT bolognese. Plus, servers need to pronounce it properly. The cheese on top is the cellulose type. We have great Italian stores here with imported cheese you should use. I did like the vinegar and oil on the table but it is not olive oil. Bread is good. Salad dressing is delicious but again I picked the strands of cellulose cheese off. If you notice , the strands of cheese do not melt on the pasta. Points for pasta not being over cooked and for tossing the meat sauce with the pasta. Train the bussers and servers a little better on what they are serving. Look at vincenzos plate on youtube for proper bolognese. The snicker cheese cake was awful, a waxy peanutbutter taste to it. Probably the worst shrimp scampi I've ever had! They obviously don't know what shrimp scampi is, as it was nothing more than spaghetti al olio with some shrimp tossed in. So last night was my first time here and i was not disappointed. They totally lived up to the hype, excellent service and great food. I've heard so much about them, but it's always busy. Clearly there's a reason for that. I think I counted 10 tables available for seating which is pretty much all they could do with the pandemic still going on.
