Well I have been at this neighborhood gem for decades and tonight was a star studded success. For some reason I. Ever saw the pasta for no dish of eggplant parmigiana Veronica style. Wow what a successful dish comprised of several lays of perfectly cooked and breaded eggplant smothered in Veronica sauce in between each layer and covered with a layer of mozzarella. The dish was accompanied by amazingly tender and cooked pasta with Veronica sauce a major feat of Magic I also ordered shrimp scampi which was delicious as well as my favorite eggplant parm hero. I now work super close by - I hadn't been here in a good ten years! (I used to love their eggplant pizza). As Im waiting for my order, I see the sign about charging 3% extra for card pmts - WTH - almost none of the (good!) restaurants I frequent even do this! Another thing that Im ticked off about is my bill total - holy crap! One Sicilian pie, 20 wings and a chicken Caesar salad ... $68 - OMG!!! The wings were $30! This price wasn't what the online menu had listed - buyer beware! Okay - dinner is now done - the "fam" flipped for the pizza and wings - rave reviews! During the Covid times, we've had to resort to occasional take out options. To be honest, once take out or food delivery is usually disappointing in quality when it arrives on the table. This past year, we've ordered a few times from here and we have not yet regretted it. Our choices are the baked ziti pizza, meatball pizza, wings, chicken parm sandwiches and hoagies. We've liked everything so far. The woman who served us was the perfect amount friendly and helpful...not too much where you want her to go away but always there when you need something. However, we found the focaccia bread too dry and too bready for portion of contents. And it needed some sauce or dressing. However, the chicken and rabe were tasty. Cheesesteak. When in Philly area I need a good one. This was a good one. Very good. Roll perfect. Lots of good steak and just right amount of American cheese. Would order other subs here if they use these rolls. Came in on a lazy weekend for lunch. The place was pretty empty, so it was nice that we had pretty much the entire dining room to ourselves except for a handful of other diners. Service was quick. Prices were reasonable. Ambiance was bargain basement Italiano, but no problem. Our group ordered a few different things. The cheesesteak, while hearty, tasted a bit bland to me. I rarely salt my food, but I had to add some to my share. I thoroughly enjoyed the meatball parm sandwich ($8) - the bread was toasted, and I liked the extra layer of crunch it added to the sandwich. My brother in law ordered a pizza with baked ziti. HELLO. I only had a bite - excuse, he allowed me to take a bite - and dang, it was tasty, though extremely filling. In the 15 years I've lived in Cherry Hill, Romanza's has been a neighborhood staple. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, but my favorites are the plain cheese pizza, and primavera, and the chicken parm sandwich. The pizza is not too thin, not too thick, and each bite has a crunch. I always appreciate that attention to detail. The primavera pizza had plenty of veggies, and they were sliced small/thin so that you can still eat it like a pizza. Their chicken parm is like any good chicken parm that has just the right ratio between meat and breading with extra sauce. Even carryout orders taste delicious at home, and they are amazing leftovers for the day or two after. My order arrived 15 minutes late, cold and chewy, and the woman taking my order was very rude and dismissive. The egg: over cooked The lettuce had brown spots, the blue cheese & bacon were the only salvageable part (roughly 1.5tbs of both if your wondering) The avacado. After I picked the greens apart to find it...I found 3 small slivers. Now, I weighed it for a laugh.... ya ready? 6grams. That's not even a freaking 10th of an avacado. Luckily I had one laying around. So after I assembled my salad & poured the french dressing on (also...had no flavor) I sat down to eat. It was the most mediocre boarder line bad salad I have ever had. All I tasted was blue cheese. I will not order from here again. I'm not sure if the place has a new owner, "chef" or what but the quality has gone down hill. Could care less about the food at this point. Ordered a plain pie for pick up I have power after a water that period was driving from Pennsylvania to New Jersey to pick up a pizza for my son who is autistic. We told my son we would be there any specific time and he does not understand when we are not there at that time period we got to the pizza place 10 minutes before we were supposed to meet my son. Apparently, they forgot to make the pizza they were sitting there not doing anything. They were not busy and parentry had not been busy so I don't know why they forgot. He said the pizza would be ready within 6 minutes. 10 minutes later the pizza was ready. This was the exact time we were supposed to meet my son. He did not understand when we showed up 10 minutes later. Aside from that, when the pizza was finished, he charged full price. Know I am sorry, know I made a mistake let me give you some money off, no I'm sorry it's my fault here is a pizza on us. Since we were running late, my husband took the pizza and left. Romanza is a great local pizza shop in Cherry Hill - I am so glad to have given them a try. I've been in the area *almost* a year and it takes time to really fine those "go to" places for good food that's consistent and exactly what you were expecting. With that said, Romanza fits the bill for me! We've order their pizza which I can only describe as EXACTLY what you want from pizza place, we've gotten their cheesesteaks too which rival any place that likes to say they are the best in town - the long rolls are the right kind of softness and the steak is finely chopped and not gristly. Their fries have a lightly battered crispness to them and the wings will not disappoint. On top of that, the staff is so friendly and definitely has that family vibe which is super nice. I'd never been in here before, but we happened to be in the area last week and decided to stop for lunch. I ordered the baked ziti pizza. This is something I haven't had (or seen) since I lived in the Princeton/Plainsboro area. It was amazing! A perfect crust, crunchy, but not too thin. The ziti was perfectly done and the mozzarella cheese was great. Two of my favorite foods in one :) I brought the leftover pizza home and froze it. I heated it up for lunch that week in the toaster oven, and it came out tasting just as good as when it was made. We went there after visiting the discovery museum down the street. We sat in the restaurant section. Food was great, the portions were large and flavorful. The wait staff was very helpful and split an order of pasta on 2 plates for the boys without us even asking. It was quiet so we did not feel rushed. Really good pizza! Accidentally came across this place as a business traveler looking for a lunch spot, and didn't have high expectations for a non-descript location in a quiet shopping center. When my co-worker and I walked in though, the staff (along with a few others who were likely friends/family) were all speaking Italian and watching an Italian-language TV channel, and I realized this place may have "authentic" possibility. The pizza is fantastic. Thin-crust, with tasty dough, the perfect mix between crispy and chewy. I just had a simple slice of margherita, but even the mozzarella tasted fresh and flavorful. Very good. I also ordered a chicken pesto sandwich on foccaccia bread, which was very soft and fresh, and the sandwich was huge, but this was more ordinary. My salad was delicious and my friends were satisfied with their chicken parm & penne vodka (tasted just like my grandmoms). And big portions as I expected, one of the only pizza places in Cherry hill actually owned by real Italians!the desserts are homemade and tasted heavenly. Great prices and great family place. I was afraid because I saw some bad reviews but obviously some people have never seen restaurant bowls and others just seem like they're so unhappy with their own lives that they have nothing better to do than write bad reviews about nice places. I just discovered this place, its about 2 minutes away from my new work office. I stopped in one day for lunch and got a Chicken Parm meal that comes with soup or salad, pasta, and a fresh roll for about 12 bucks. It was delicious and I've been back a few times since then. I haven't tried anything else yet because I really enjoy the Parm but I plan on checking out some other food soon. The staff is excellent and very welcoming. Got a flyer in the mail so I thought I'd give them a try. Ordered Spaghetti Boulonase with a bowl of pasta frijole. The soup was tasteless. Like hot water with pasta and beans. I tried adding cheese and a pinch of salt, but that didn't help. I have yet to find good pasta frijole.in any Italian restaurant in the area. I myself make a great pasta frijole. My Mothers Sicilian recipe, Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! The boulionase was also tasteless. Does anyone know what spices are for? The pool of water at the bottom of the bowl didn't help my opinion of the dish either. If I can make better at home, why do I keep going out for it? read more
