We got a takeout brunch with visiting friends on a weekday (Apr 2025). We recently realized that Roma's Pizza & Subs was now sharing space with Ellicott City's Bagel Bin, so this was a good choice for our different appetites. One of us got a tasty ham and cheese hoagie on a toasty ciabatta roll, with hot crispy-coated fries. It had tender thin-sliced ham and cheddar. Simple. Perfect. And the rest of us had breakfast from their new partner, Bagel Bin, who recently moved here, a little west of their previous location. We got their bagel and nova lox on a toasted freshly-made sesame bagel, and another on a toasted freshly-made poppy-seed bagel. Both were generously stuffed with flavorful smoked salmon and a thick whole schmear of dense cream cheese. The tomato slices were sweet and fresh. The sliced red onions had a nice bite. The sprinkling of capers added a little excitement to each bite. And for the little one, a simple scrambled egg on a warm plain bagel. Their bagels are still great! This is a nice partnership that broadens the menu here with more good food. Hurray! read more

I have reviewed pizzerias in this area and have whined that I live in a pizza dessert. This may be my oasis. It's a hidden gem. Yes hidden in the back of a strip mall totally nondescript and the inside is large and the same way. We ordered a large cheese pizza. About 10 minutes later out came a good looking pie. The dough was light and crispy, the sauce was slightly sweet and tasty and the cheese tasted like Grande, the best in the business. Did it compare to some of the great pizzas I grew up with like L&B or Totonos no but I was in Ellicott city and it was pretty good. The best in this areas and better than good for the rest of the world. Go give it a try you won't be disappointed. I'm going back and going back frequently. This review is based off of delivery we ordered through the Yelp app...the food and service were amazing. We had a few friends over, and we decided to order some food for everyone since this place was close and had just about everything. I ordered a cheesesteak and crab fries, and both were some of the best items I've ever had. The cheesesteak was filling, not overly greasy, and had great flavor. The fries were filled with crab meat (not filler) and cheese. One order of those are enough to share. We also ordered onion rings and a Stromboli, and our friends loved both. Great cheesesteak. I got the 12 inch. A little on the small side for me as I was still hungry afterwards. I should have gotten two. I know stuff is expensive now, but $13.00 seemed a little high. Roma's WAS a half-way decent pizza place, However, since changing management, it's been pretty bad. I grew up in The Bronx and I know Pizza: and this ain't it. Their pizza lacks flavor & the sausage topping tastes raw. The pizza is so bad that my pizza-loving son actually hates it. Pizza 1 out of 5 stars. (NEVER AGAIN) Greek salad 3 out of 5. On more than one occasion I paid online and when I went to pick it up he tried to charge me a second time. I would cut him slack if this had only happened once. This was my favorite sub shop, then one day I stopped in with my daughter and her service dog. The cashier yelled in he back and a man came out and told to leave, "no dogs allowed". I explained that he was a service dog and showed the man his license hanging off the side of the dogs red vest that said "service dog". He told me he did not care what kind of dog it was it needed to get out. I understand things might be different in other countries but if you operate a business in the US you should understand the laws and have some semblance of the Americans with Disabilities Act. I ordered a cheesesteak and fries and was told that it would be ready in 20 minutes. I got there 20 minutes later and paid. They went to the kitchen and came back to tell me it would be a few more minutes. No problem. 20 minutes later they asked me how I wanted my cheesesteak prepared. They said that the kitchen was never made aware of my order when I placed it, or when I arrived to pick it up. I asked for a refund. They acted surprised that I didn't want to wait around for them to finally make my food, and then had to call someone who wasn't there to ask if it was OK to give me a refund. I've always had a good experience at Roma's! The staff and owners are polite, and are helpful. They have halal options which is amazing for individuals who only want to eat halal. The atmosphere at the restaurant is casual and kid friendly, which makes it a perfect place to catch a casual lunch or dinner with family or friends. Great place to host a pizza party, etc. Food is always fresh and delicious. I love the buffalo chicken pizza. The fries, wings, garlic knots, and subs are always a great option to get from them when you're having a get together at your place, especially for football season. Recommend highly!!!! read more

One of the most important factors to me in a great pizza is the crust. It can be thick and bready, or thin and crispy...or something in between. Doesn't matter, as long as its done correctly and well. Roma's serves a New York style pizza so you better have a really good crust. You can't cheat on using regular flour, you need bread flour, you need to knead it well so the gluten comes out....you better have a consistent and stable oven to cook it evenly. Roma's pulls off a great crust. The crust is thin but has a good chew to it and has body for its thinness. They kneaded this dough alot to bring out the gluten. It has just the right amount of yeast to prevent it from being heavy but not too much so it rises and becomes thin and falls apart. The pizza crust was baked thoroughly and very evenly all around an on top....very rare for fast food pizza places these days. Dominoes, Papa John, Pizza Hut could learn from this place. I have had cheese, pepperoni, and BBQ chicken. All were excellent. The cheese pizza was evenly browned for both cheese and crust. The mixture of cheeses was very tasty. The pepperoni was just like a New York version....none of the pepperonis were burnt from the oven. The bbq chicken is not New York...but it was good and tasty. So if its so great...why 4 stars:? The tomato sauce was weak. It is on the bland sweet side....good but just good...not spectacular. I like my sauce with a little more zing to it and more herbs...not a flat tomato sauce. If you crave for the taste of a good New York style pizza, this will satisfy your cravings. I took my son for dinner last night and from the time we ordered to the time we walked out was one of the most miserable experiences ever. I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap. Unbeknownst to me it had bacon on it. When I asked about it, I was told that I should have known because bacon is on the panini. I ordered a wrap!!! She would not do anything to change it. Then my sons calzone came out swimming in grease. My son took one bite and couldn't eat anymore. On top of the terrible food, the woman working behind the counter and serving the food was so incredibly rude. Unfortunate for being in a customer driven business. We've been looking for a sub shop since we moved here and this was better than some we've had locally. We ordered two 12": Meatball Parmesan and a plain Cheesesteak. The cheesesteak was good, not as full as my hometown local shop, but better than some. The meatballs were big, but the bread struggled to hold up to the sauce. I recently moved from Baltimore to Ellicott City. In the first few weeks after the move we tried every pizza place in the area that would deliver. To be honest, a lot of them in the area were just TERRIBLE! Sub par ingredients and quality, and one pizza even tasted like it had breakfast sausage on it. Just bad. It wasn't until we tried Roma's that we found what we were looking for. Great sauce, cheese, and crust on the pizza. Fantastic sandwiches, paninis and fries. Recently I even tried their crab cake sub and even that was good. One of the highlights of the menu are the garlic knots that we now order as a side with every meal. I also love the Eat24 app that they are affiliated with. The app is PERFECT. The whole menu is on there, you can pass the ipad around the room and let people order, and it allows you to use credit cards and PAYPAL. It also lets you tip the delivery guy ahead of time which means no fumbling with money when the food arrives. As long as the quality stays as good as it is now, Roma's will be our "go-to" delivery spot for years to come. read more

Make double sure that you choose the right location BEFORE you pay. Rude management demands that if it's paid- no refunds. After getting screamed at by the manager for my honest mistake, I told him that the website does not say that if there is an error on the order that I don't get refunded. Due to his poor tactics in the conversation, I informed him I would turn to social media to let others know their business practices and he said to do what I needed to do. Skip it. I got the chicken Parmesan sub, pretty standard fare for a pizza and sub place. While the sub roll was good, the rest of the sandwich was disappointing. The pre-cooked breaded chicken was cut up into small chunks and mixed with a straight from the can tomato sauce and cheese mixture. It tasted weird and I spent the rest of the night with a lump in my stomach, asking myself repeatedly why I finished the sub. I also got a Caesar salad, which was nothing to write home about. I did not try the pizza. I put this place in the category of a cheap, greasy sub joint with semi-passable food, but certainly not worth going out of your way for. I wouldn't even eat this after a late night of drinking. They really could do a better job. Especially given their location. I hope they step up their game. read more

Most of the reviews for Roma's are a few years old, so after getting this at a friend's house, I figured I would add my more current thoughts to the mix. The pizza was just ok to me. We added spinach to our veggie pizza, and while there were a lot of toppings, there were only tiny little blotches of spinach We also asked for the crust to be extra-crispy and it wasn't. As a result, te crust was what I really didn't care for-- it was too bread-y and undercooked. The sauce was actually a little salty too. We ordered two steak and cheese online....which allows you to choose your toppings. First one, we selected items. 2nd one, we chose NO toppings. When we got home the first one was right.
