We needed to purchase a specific hybrid (the previous one we had was totaled because someone ran a red light and hit us!) and this particular car is needed for my husbands work because the car's backseat goes all the way down flat to load items. They ran a hard inquiry on my credit -- something no buyer takes lightly -- and I moved forward in good faith. I even scheduled an independent pre‑purchase inspection to verify the condition of the vehicle. After that point, communication from the dealership completely stopped. I sent multiple emails and texts over several days asking for basic updates on transport, documentation, and next steps. I received no response at all. Today, I learned from the inspection company that the vehicle had been sold to someone else before they could even perform the inspection. The dealership never notified me the car was no longer available, despite having my credit information, my inspection appointment, and my ongoing communication. This is not how a professional dealership operates. Running a buyer's credit, agreeing to terms, and then disappearing while selling the car to someone else is unacceptable. A simple message letting me know the vehicle was sold would have prevented wasted time, money, and stress. I will be filing formal complaints with the appropriate consumer agencies so this pattern is documented. I had a appointment to view a certain vehicle I even received a text reminder 1 day before, I had done my research on the vehicle, I was determined to purchase it if the test drive went well. I even took a Lyft I was charge $48.00 I arrived on TIME. And was told the vehicle wasn't there can I come back in 1-2hours!! I had a positive experience purchasing a used car with Stan. He was responsive in communicating with me, and flexible in scheduling. The car's price was fair, comparable to other similar ones for sale right now. After sharing my drivers license and insurance info, I was able to take the car for a long test drive, as well as to a service center for a Pre-Purchase Inspection. Some basic maintenance was needed, which I expected for a 10-year-old car with 100k+ miles. Stan offered to fix a few items free of charge as part of the sale (they have a mechanic onsite), including replacing the rearview mirror, realigning the front bumper, patching a tire, and fully replacing the infotainment system. I put down a small deposit to hold the car while those things got fixed, which took a few weeks. He remained transparent about the process throughout. My minor qualms were that I did have to follow up with him for regular updates during the repair process, and he double-booked our appointment when we purchased the car--we were filling out paperwork in the same tiny office as another client.
