Sad looking pizza

I have been a Rome's customer for years. I have always tried to support small businesses especially this one that used to be owned by Gus & Brenda but sadly things have changed. We came tonight to enjoy pizza and we left feeling cheated and annoyed. We waited half an hour for a salad and well over an hour for a medium pizza. You all served everyone around us even though we were there before them. You offered no explanation and wait staff wouldn't even look at us. Seriously, you keep this up and your business will fail. Goodbye Romes.

Every other weekend my boys and I try a new piazza place. First time here, we were greeted wish a friendly smile and a patience perfect for first-timers. We got two medium pizzas: the meat lover and one called the Sauté and we added chicken to that one. Compared to other places, it felt like the diameter of the medium was slightly smaller maybe, but the toppings were generous! I was a little wary about adding the chicken to the one pizza because some places use like precooked and warmed up/processed chicken, but these chunks tasted legit. The crust on the bottom was a little dark for my liking, but I could only taste that bitterness at the edges where there weren't any toppings. The tabletops are all metal which were cold to the touch but it worked out nicely because the pizza came out hot (as it should) but due to the laws of thermodynamics, the pies were at an edible temperature pretty quickly. The walls are decorated with collages of newspaper pages, red tape outlines articles about the establishment. I explained to my youngsters what the tv directory section was about. They had a small selection of desserts; I got some baklava. The pistachio-flavored one was surprisingly not as tasted as the walnut. All-in-all, we were very pleased and it'll go in the top three pizza places we've been to.

I wanted pizza tonight and decided to get Romes. It was good. I really like that there isn't an overwhelming amount of sauce on the pizza. I got a build your own. Bonus is that ordering online was easy!

Can't beat fresh food, properly prepared, at a decent price. We like to dine in and enjoy pizzas and calzones fresh out of the oven.

Dough Pizzeria Napoletana truly lives up to its commitment to authenticity. Our waiter was…read moreincredibly attentive and took the time to explain the restaurant's philosophy: as many ingredients as possible are imported directly from Italy, and anything that can't be imported is thoughtfully sourced from local producers. That attention to detail definitely comes through in the food. I ordered the arugula salad with chicken, and it was outstanding. The combination of candied pumpkin seeds, creamy goat cheese, roasted beets, and balsamic vinaigrette was perfectly balanced, with every bite offering great texture and flavor. My friends ordered the pepperoni pizza and couldn't stop talking about how delicious it was. Then came dessert... and I completely lost all self-control--in the best way possible. We ordered the affogato, tiramisu, torta di polenta, and the Nutella torta. Every single dessert was beautifully executed and absolutely delicious. If I had to pick favorites, the affogato and the Nutella torta were the standouts, but honestly, you can't go wrong with any of them. Excellent service, thoughtfully sourced ingredients, and food that delivers from start to finish. I'll definitely be back!

The host was very pleasant and mentioned she would make a note of my birthday. When we arrived, our waiter was attentive, funny, and accurate. We tired their pizza, burrata and bread, olives, salad, and the tiramisu. I really appreciated their NA options of teas and mocktails. The whole experience was awesome and my tastebuds were spoiled. I do with they would have comped a beverage or dessert for a birthday celebration. That was really disappointing especially considering the bills total.

Came here for lunch - loved the atmosphere, fantastic playlist and service!…read more Could not enjoy their beers as it was a work lunch! Got the salad and pizza combo but so apparently did everyone else and with one person making the pizzas it was at least 35 minutes until we received ours and a good 20 minutes after we finished our salad - thankfully we had some time to spare! Salad was good - pizza good but for being prepared on the spot was okay - dough was a let down and it does not collapsed with Wild Barely or Pinthouse - good but not great!

Recently the waiters were all changed and cocktail service ended. We've been loyal customers so we decided to give the new crew the benefit of the doubt. We decided to grab some beers and watch the end of the Spurs game. The Brewery closes at 11:00, a waiter 5 minutes earlier closed our ticket courteously because they were closing. At 10:59 an employee, supposedly a manager, behind the bar, not assisting with any closing duties, rudely said in a loud voice " We're closing and shutting off the TV" Before that was said there was 50 seconds left in the game and we were putting on our coats. I said in response "this place sure has changed." Last time I encountered such rudeness was at the restaurant Ocho, also near the Riverwalk. They are now out of business. We will not be returning, sometime in the future we will look in to see if this person is still working here (though we have not seen her do much working besides lurk behind the bar and the ladies room door. Customer service is one of foundations of of any good business, hopefully this establishment will return to it's previous standards.

I recommend a different restaurant. There are ones for this price for cheaper in the city that have…read morefar better food. The food feels like the chefs were given good quality materials, but had no idea what to do with them. We ordered a funghi pizza to share then a cinghiale, a costine (short ribs), and a dentice (bass). Funghi pizza was the only dish that made coming worth it at all. It had a nice flavor, but if you're expecting the notes of an earthy mushroom flavor, don't. It's just a nicer version of a standard cheese pizza topped with some onions and mushroom. The cinghiale was just stunningly mediocre. The meat was flavorful, but the pasta itself was shockingly bland. It was just so... ok. The dentice was the best of the 3 individual dishes, but it is just what you would expect some average short ribs with random sauce to taste. The costine was just terrible. Salty on the outside, yet flavorless on the inside. Avoid at all costs. The service was passable, but they clearly overwork their servers as one server just handles an entire section and is too overwhelmed to be timely. I came to cheer myself up, but honestly it only made dinner comically worse. I seriously can't imagine what would cause someone to rate this as 5 stars. Maybe if they thought Olive Garden was 4.5, then I guess this would barely be a 5 in comparison? Either way, if you're looking for good food for your dinner, keep looking. You won't find it here.
