Ordered lunch specials: pizza for ine and stromboli for another. We got a ham/pineapple pizza instead of ham/green pepper but ate it anyway. Stomboli was good but I needed more marinara sauce. Canned & bottled drinks only. Also ordered 2 pizzas to go and got a free piece of bakhlava which was super delicious. Crust was amazing! read more

Had a pistachio veggie and it was eye-opening! Delicious ingredients and recipe! The new royal dipping sauce was a great addition as well. Friendly service from the owner who took time to explain a bit about the food and restaurant. Nice location, on de Zavala but surrounded by plants and quite nice vibe. read more

I've stopped by for lunch 3-4 times since moving into the area. The food is good but a bit pricey. I like their spaghetti plate and the pizza is pretty good as well. I've considered placing a couple of delivery orders, but have changed my mind each time. Not only do they charge a $4.95 delivery fee, but also a $1.99 "service charge" to help cover the costs of running their business. IIRC, there was also an extra fee for using a credit card and for ordering online. It's been a while, so the $1.99 service charge may have covered that charge. And all that is before the tip, which their website automatically includes at 15%. But you can change / remove that. The additional charges added so much to the final bill that I changed my mind and just ordered from Pizza Hut across the street. I don't mind stopping in for lunch, but paying an extra $10-11 for delivery is a bridge too far for me. read more

Very good light crust (flavorful). Had the Stromboli, very good. Could have been a little larger (for a man). Friend had lunch pizza with mushrooms & sausage. Very good local pizzeria, with a surprisingly nice view from their dining room! Ordered a mushroom and sausage pie to go. Service was prompt and friendly, though they did mess my order up and gave me a sausage and pepperoni. No biggie, though my ladyfriend was disappointed. This is an interesting pizza. The sauce is great, with a slightly peppery zip to it that I haven't encountered before. Crust is on the thin side, though unlike a NYC pie it doesn't have a crunch or char to it. Good texture, though - I believe this is the same bread-like dough they use in their sandwiches. Excellent food and fantastic service. Lazy Sunday afternoon motorcycle ride and I got hungry. The place was empty when I arrived but busy when I left. Gyro was excellent and fries were as well. The man working the register seemed to be alone but handled it all and gave everyone the high points of the restaurant's acclaim and awards while they chose their food. This pizza is legit! We did the hot honey pepperoni and the crust was light and crisp with abundant toppings. This is def our new regular pizza place! We had side salads and spaghetti with meat sauce as well. Spaghetti had a different flavor, but we loved it. Portion could easily feed three people. We took alot home; just waiting to get hungry again. Staff was so friendly and nice. read more

Hot diggity dog this place was a GREAT find!! Great staff. Always SUPER nice and energetic. The food tho? FANTASTIC!! Their pizza blew me away. Very tasty and baked well. Darn. I am an optimist - and got a sad surprise at San Antonio's ROYAL PIZZA on De Zavala Rd. The owner was nice. We ordered two large pizzas (no add-ons) plus garlic bread plus pizza rolls - and then the owner offered us a "special" since we were the very first customers of 2024. Yay! Home made Baklava (made by his wife) for $7.99. We felt special. So yes, thank you - we would love some Baklava. When we got home (long drive - rural north of SA) we were very sadly disappointed. The 2 little pieces of "baklava" were tiny and dry. (Just a tad larger than a quarter.) The pizza was OK. The garlic bread and pizza rolls were tiny, and mediocre. For a $67.50 tab - we went from "happy" to "not happy". Adding in the tiny tired baklava - we nose-dived down toward "UNHAPPY". Cannot recommend. read more

Needed to find a go-to pizza place near my apartment and came across Royal Pizza. Immediately upon entering to pick up my order I was greeted by Basset who was so upbeat and inviting! You can tell when someone is passionate about the food they make and he didn't miss a beat going into detail about everything they have to offer. Even gave me freshly baked Baklava free of charge for being a first time customer. Now the food... AMAZING! We ordered the Greek pizza, Stromboli and mild wings. Absolutely no complaints. He gave us a rewards card which will be stamped each time we order and after so many stamps (I think 7?) we'll receive a discount on our next order. Cool place, fresh and delicious food and excellent service. Think we found our go-to place! Can't wait to try the pasta. read more

My husband and I decided to stop in and try it after driving by a couple weeks ago. We moved to the San Antonio area 3 years ago and have been looking for our "go to" pizza place ever since. I can confidently say, we just found it! The customer service was phenomenal and then when the food matches the energy of the place, it is even better! The food was amazing and made just right. Top pizza place! It is quite hard to look for a pizza place that offers really good pizza with good prize here in San Antonio. This place is a gem - a good pizza with decent price. We went here during dinner not packed but customers coming continuously to get their order online. Some of them seems like regular. The menu was really straight forward and says it all. They not only offer pizza but also salad, pasta, appetizers, calzone and other more. The place was pretty neat. They have outside sitting and decent size for parking lot. The person we talked to probably the owner really takes pride on what he does. He's very people person so easy to talk to. We ended up here on accident. We were going somewhere else that didn't have the menu we wanted and decided to come here instead. We were turning around in the parking lot and recognized this restaurant as one of the best pizza places in San Antonio and figured we would try it out. We ordered a medium pizza, half pepperoni and black olives and the other half just pepperoni. The pizza came out fast and was really hot. We enjoyed the pizza and took our last couple of slices home. This restaurant is in a shopping center and has plenty of parking. It wasn't busy when we came, but had a ton of take out orders while we were there read more

When looking for a good pizza/pasta joint, Royal Pizza hits the spot. I was craving pasta and the $9 lunch pasta of the day (a heaping plate of spaghetti with rich meat sauce and a salad) tasted homemade. The gyro, pizza rolls and baklava was delicious too. Ordered three pizzas... only two were delivered. The quality is a hair above frozen pizzas from the grocery store. About $75 for 2 mediocre pizzas (the missing one was refunded, the original bill was $89) and a cheese/garlic bread just as bad, I'll go back to Dough Pizzeria Napoletana for delicious pizzas that are only slightly more expensive. read more

Pizza was delicious with more of a crispy crust. I hate soft, flimsy dough trying to hold up the ingredients. Reheated well in the broiler at home, too. Baklava is very tiny maybe 1 1/2" x 1 1/2"...way too small for $9.00 for two pieces. Tasted ok but for that price a larger size is needed. Pizza rolls were ok. More pepperoni and cheese stuffing per dough ratio would improve the rolls. read more

Wow...where to begin. I came here based off of Yelp reviews and Google reviews and I am happy to have found this place. I wanted pizza for my bday dinner and this place did not disappoint! I wanted to try the Royal Pizza based off the kebab meat ingredient which I had never seen nor tried on a pizza. It was a delicious topping. The owner came out and explained their process for making pizza which is made from fresh dough. We sat outside as the temp was great to do so. Overall a great experience with a great friendly staff who can help give suggestions. Definitely will be coming here again in the future. Come give it a try! read more
