The only reason worth going here is for the pizza, but even then, you'd better be willing to wait a minimum of 45 minutes for it! The layout is weird and confusing when you first walk in - it's hard to tell where to approach for a table with the front counter in a dark corner. The waitstaff SUCKS. COMPLETELY APPALLING! We asked for a simple pitcher of water, but the waitress came by twice empty-handed. Four servers later, we got it. We watched the initial waitress frequent three tables right next to us for patrons who were ordering alcoholic drinks... So, the fact that we weren't ordering drinks that would (in her mind) warrant us tipping her repeatedly made her decide to completely ignore us?? Since when is alcohol the only reason to pay attention to customers? We would've tipped just as well had we been receiving some service! Even getting a takeout box was excruciating: I went up to the bar and stared the same waitress down. She saw me looking at her, looked away, then looked back and me and gave me a fake-ass smile. Seriously? Take a hint, idiot! I'm looking at you because I obviously need something! Learn what it means to be a waitress, good lord!! Two previous visits were equally horrible: one visit that took over an hour to get our pizza and when it arrived it was cold and barely covered in any cheese. We got an apology gift card for that visit. Our initial visit was good all around, but our waitress was on a double and delirious from lack of sleep... Literally. She couldn't remember anything we told her and randomly told us strange stories with TMI. Their equipment is shit: broken cues, ratty tables and duct-taped chairs, tube TVs... The music played in there gets awfully ghetto and ratchet at night. What's truly sad is that this place has real potential: great location, huge building, great food and clean fun for family and friends alike. They don't have horchata first off. When I got the plate it was extremely hot wasn't sure if they put the whole plate on the oven. The rice was dry when I got it, one of my friends made the joke that rice was so dry it needs lotion. The refried beans tasted kinda salty kinda out of a can. The enchiladas had some sauce but it didn't really give it any flavor to the food, wasn't sure what it even was. The meat was ok some chunks of the stake had a lot of fat. Always my place to go when I want to have a chill evening/night of drinking & shooting pool. Waitresses are cool, everyone is pretty much cool accept some of the bartenders. Going to the bar for a drink is a mistake because they pay you no mind & you'll be waiting all day. Other than that a super chill spot for groups or couples... lots of tv screens, good music, jukebox, darts & even a couple games in the front. The name of the restaurant is Senor Locos. It's our favorite! Chips are hot and the salsa is delicious! They also give you free refried beans and some spicy carrots (my favorite & I won't share!) with the chips. I always get enchiladas and love the brown sauce they put on them. Other restaurants have a red or green sauce and I don't care for it. My husband and I crave their food. I never have to ask twice to go here for dinner. Very reasonably priced too! See ya tonite! my husb and I used to frequent Romines approx 12 years ago. was a nice place to have a drink (or 2), while snacking on nachos and taking in a game of pool or darts. as time went on im not sure if ownership changed but the waitstaff and bartenders changes and the service level went down. we then ended up going maybe a couple times a year. After not going for a couple years we decided to stop while we were out and about becasue i suddenly had a craving for a pina colada. I ordered my pina colada and it was like drinking icey water! i am a pretty light drinker so normally 1 drink does me just fine. I decided to order another drink.. white rum with cranberry and pineapple juice. AGAIN my drink was very watered down. The bartender seemed to be very busy entertaining friends of his. We also were interested in a game of pool but at 2 of the pool tables there were elderly people taking naps. Do NOT plan on ever going back. this was a total waste of time and money. I came in during the day on a Thursday and had great service the food was good and the waitress in restaurant area was on point for being a little older and the young lady at the bar was very nice as well you could tell those trwo worked together for a long time .. so I came back on a Saturday night expecting the same service but it wasn't the same .. the food was still very good love the pizza but the bar service this time was off the girls acted like it was a bother to serve us like we were interrupting them from talking to each other and not very friendly at all .. I'm still leaving a 5 star post because the two ladies during the day deserve it .. you can tell they know what it is to be in customer service .. Mexican food is delicious! Hot chips are served with good salsa and a side of refried beans. Genius. Had a delicious combination plate; they served guisado, enchilada, taco and tostada. Romine's is a lot of fun. Came here last night with my boyfriend and 2 other friends. We shot a few games of pool for $8/hour and pitchers of Spotted Cow for $10. Great price for drinks and games. The hall also contains a number of cool arcade games from pinball, to a 4 person car racing game, and some classics like pacman. Will definitely come back for pool again, and maybe try some of the Mexican food next time too. read more

I believe this has to be Milwaukee's largest pool hall. A big open place to hang out, eat some bad bar food, and most of all play a lot of pool. It's large enough that you should almost never have to wait for a table. It doesn't really have a lot of character, unless you are into the very (un)stylish decor of the early 80's, but it's a fun place to go with a group of people for an unpretentious nice of pool and drinks. read more

I was very disappointed in Romines for a UFC event. They charge a $5 cover, and we sit down. The waitress asks what we want, and to start we ask for a picture of water as we figure out what beer to drink. She informs us that you have to PURCHASE bottles of water during UFC events! We did purchase food, and 3 pitchers of beer while we were there. They have no drink specials during events, which many (if not most) bars that hold UFC events have. Stopped at Senor Loco for dinner at @640 last night and had the worst experience here that I've ever had. The service has never been something I would consider great but yesterday was pathetic. The place was dead so that can't be an excuse. I counted 4 waitstaff that were more concerned with chatting amongst themselves then the customers. After about 10 mins a guy brought me chips and salsa (which are great) and I ordered a beer........15 minutes later NOTHING!!! Needless to say I left and I will never return. I was pretty excited when I learned that Romine's was getting the original Coney Island recipe chili sauce. It had been several years since I had a Coney Island burger and really missed them a lot! While the sauce is definitely spot on... to me, everything else doesn't seem right. The burgers are overcooked and really dry. I recall that Coney Island would keep their burger patties in hot water which would help keep them from drying out. The burger patties I got were bad! The buns also didn't seem "right." The buns were somewhat firm - almost as if they were too old to serve. Also, the french fries are wrong. Mike used to serve shoestring fries, without skins, made fresh to order. What I received definitely wasn't fresh. In fairness, I went there twice (about two weeks apart) just to see if maybe it was an off day but both orders seemed to have the same issues. Both trips were also around lunch time. Final thoughts: What Mike at Coney Island gave our city was a chili burger/dog that you RAVED about to everyone. What Romine's is serving is a forgettable version of that. read more

I've gone to Romine's for mainly wrestling PPV's and pool for the past 15 years. It's usually a decent experience, I usually park up at the bar, order some Mexican food and a few beers and settle in for a great pay per view. The last time I went for a wrestling PPV, however, the experience was poor. Not only did it take a long time to get food and another beer when my bottle was empty, but I had to sit at the bar while the bartender spoke to another worker, saying how much he hates wrestling and the UFC crowd is such a better crowd. I've been there for both UFC and WWE, and there really isn't much of a difference. Nonetheless, he kept going on and on mocking what I was watching as I had already tipped him for getting my food order and each one of the few beers already. Any other bar he would be lucky to be working on Sunday, let alone to have a packed bar. It was extremely rude and has me going to different places for UFC and WWE now. read more

I was at romines last weekend and had an open tab at the bar. When I closed the tab I told the bartender I wanted to pay cash. I paid $100 cash and she still charged my credit card when I did not sign anything to authorize this charge! I called and spoke to the manager and she said some bartenders she would question but the girl working that night is an honest girl, so what am I lying? Now I gotta call my credit card company and dispute the charge when there's no proof that I signed anything for this charge. I spent over $300 there that night and I will never ever go there again! I have been to romines more times than I can count, I usually enjoy playing pool and having a few drinks. I normally go early afternoon on Thursday's and the bartender is fantastic. When me and my boyfriend had some free time on a Saturday night we decide to go here. It was a waste of time. I purchased a long island and it tasted like flat root beer, so I ordered a beer instead. I played a few songs on the juke box and me and my boyfriend decided to go outside and have a smoke the speakers are normally on outside during the day so I assumed it would be the same at night. I was wrong, it wasn't a big deal so I finished smoking and went back in I explained to the bartender what happened and she said I would need to talk to the juke box company. I simply asked her if she could just take $2 off of my next drink since I only missed two songs, she refused and we argued in front of other patrons at the bar. I still go to romines on my afternoons off but I refuse to go at night because of my experience with that bartender, which is a shame considering I live about a block away. A group of us recently went here to hang out & play some pool & Romine's is one of the few remaining premier pool halls in MIlwaukee. I have been there before but it had been quite a while since & it wasn't to play pool. You see Romine's in addition to there 50 some billiard size pool tables also has a Mexican restaurant (Señor Loco's), video games, a bar & a place where you can watch many such PPV's like WWE or UFC. During this visit my friends had already checked in & had a table they were playing on. We were playing for a while & decided to get something to drink the only problem was that there was no wait staff walking around to take your drink order. So, we had to go to the bar to place an order every time we needed something which was quite away from where we were not to mention it was a bit of an inconvenience. Also, later on we wanted some food so we had to go again to the bar to place an order. We had to wait quite a while before our food arrived in fact we saw a guy come down the steps with our food look around & then walk back up the steps away from us with what we thought was our food. A little while later the bartender came down & asked us if we got our food & we said no she couldn't understand why & then continued to explain that they were short handed due to someone calling in. We did end up finally getting our food though & it was good. Finally, we wanted to watch something on TV while we were playing & the closest TV was quite a distance from us & they were all the big box TV's which you know doesn't have the clearest of screens especially at long distances. Overall the venue, location & tables are great but the lack of service & TV's were instrumental in my rating & in our overall experience. read more
