I was walking past Ron Jon Surf Shop at the Shops at Mandalay Bay and saw that there was a rack of discounted T-shirts outside with a printer paper sign taped to the rack. The price said "$14.88." While merchandise can have whatever price a business wants, it's not common for US prices to end in an 8, especially now that the US Mint is no longer making pennies. The lowest denomination coin now being made is worth 5 cents. What's even stranger is that 1488 is a well-known white supremacist code praising a certain WWII era dictator along with a certain racial creed. Pennies are still in circulation though! Okay, so why not $14.89 or $14.99? The company wouldn't charge 1 penny more to avoid posting what could be construed as supporting a certain ideology? I don't know if it's a manager or a lower level staff member trying to be slick, but the fact that it's that specific price on a printer paper sign makes me think whoever put this sign up was deliberately making a horrific statement. read more

We only had a few minutes to stop in to pick up a pair of sunglasses. The selection was a bit overwhelming and some of the cabinets were locked. They had a lot of great surf stuff here! I was surprised, given that it is Vegas, and there is no ocean in sight. I'm used to the awesome surf shops in Hawai'i. Great selection of all sorts of stuff. Got my husband his favorite kind of organic cotton shirt from Billabong. Loved all the ladies gear and swimsuits. Will be back to pick up more stuff next time I'm in Vegas. I stopped in here on my way to a dinner reservation at Mandalay Bay, looking for some new flip flops. When we entered the store, the 2 sales people working were talking to each other at the register, and neither even looked up or acknowledged our entrance. We were surprised when we walked the entire store and didn't find a SINGLE pair of flip flops...They do know that this is a surf shop, right? They had a large collection of crazy socks. I don't know any surfers who wear knee high socks when at the beach??! Anyhow, nobody offered us assistance and we didn't see what we were looking for, so it's highly unlikely I will ever be back. read more

I love this place! I've come to this place a good amount of times. They take care of the locals here. 15% off if you're a local. The only bad experieance I had here was with an associate. She was really rude and short with me. I dont know if she was having a bad or what, but I couldn't decide on the somethings. I just want to say I've come in to this store and everytime I am in there everybody is amazing. But this associate was really rude, she said she was a manager but she seemed to young and imature to be one. Dont really remember her name. I think it started with a K? Other then that one person everyone else at Ron Jon is great. YOu should support this place! read more

Not sure why a surf shop is needed in the middle of the desert. Maybe because you can surf in the monster pool at the Mandalay Bay. It is really no different from the other chain stores that you can see in Hawaii or on the coast of California. read more

Great surf shop right here. It's a little weird seeing a ron Jon so far from a beach. They have all your normal stuff you'd find at a Ron Jon. Majority of the Ron jon shirts have Las Vegas on it. For those who do not know yet, this surf shop is located inside the Mandalay Bay hotel. It is a little tricky to get there if you are not a resident of the hotel. But great store. read more

Amazing employees. I bought a shirt there while staying at the Mandalay for a conference. When I got home we found out that it was too small. I contacted the store hoping for a miracle because my bf has several Ron Jon shirts from places we've visited and I wanted one specifically from Las Vegas. When I called Matt answered and i learned that the design I originally purchased had been discontinued so they only had a few in stock and none in the size I needed. Matt actually took the time to find a shirt similar and send me a pic of the shirt to see if that would work instead and I said I would check. I had already emailed the contact on their website (Eric) and he had confirmed what Matt said about the shirt. I found a replacement shirt and Eric processed the whole sale and shipped me the shirt with no questions asked. Amazing customer service and I couldn't be happier!! This is such a cute miniature version of the cocoa beach Ron Jon! They have such a wide variety of clothes for men woman and children an it's very clean and organized. You don't feel cluttered or suffocate while you are trying to shop. Shelley and Katie helped me with some cute suits. They were both very nice and quite a joy. There were a couple other associates working but they just stood around. I have been in this store a couple times because they give Vegas locals a discount and I have noticed the men in the store are not very friendly. The few times I have been in there has always been a pleasant female more then happy to help me. The other thing I love about this store is the prices! We all know how expensive the strip is and their store hours are great! Overall I give this store 5 stars. read more
