Stumbled on this place today for the first time and boy did it deliver. Family owned and operated feel. Food reminds you of the best of grandmas cooking and the wait staff were super friendly. It was clear that about 2/3rds of the people there were regulars during the witty banter with the cashier. Love this place and we will definitely be back!! read more

Third time visiting Ronnie's Cafe and each visit has been a 5-Star experience. On this occasion, I had the Steak breakfast that included of a delicious 10 ounce Ribeye steak, cooked medium-well, with over medium eggs, country potatoes and a buttermilk biscuit. My steak was prepared as instructed. My eggs were as perfect as they could possibly be, and my potatoes tasted like my mom made them. Our server, Jenna, is a natural in her role. She had a warm, friendly and easy going demeanor, coupled with excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills. She checked on us often and made sure our needs were met. The atmosphere has a nice, comfortable "down home" feel. And if you look around the dining room, you will observe other customers enjoying themselves and having a great time! If you're looking for a good home cooked type of meal in a cozy environment, that serves delicious food and large portions at affordable prices, I can recommend this place enough, and strongly urge you give this family establishment a try. Plenty of parking here. We had no wait and were immediately seated. The service is top notch. The servers were all so polite and attentive. This place will make you feel like a regular. We ordered several plates that are shareable, portions are big. The house chili is not watered down, has beans, with a good taste. Their burger meat is delicious! Came with a good helping of fries. I tried out an omelette and a turkey croissant sandwich. This cost me $28.04. This place gives portentous portions. The croissant sandwich had so much turkey in it that the whole thing kept constantly coming apart. It was a complete mess. The omelettes are made with 5 eggs. It's a darn shame that it was not enjoyable due to the fact there was so many egg shell pieces in it. The ingredients weren't so good. This place is a hidden gem. We use to live a few miles from it and never knew it was there. Its tucked back in the south west corner of 43rd Ave & Cactus. It's very popular there was a consistent line going in and out. It is clean and spacious not loud. We were waited on right away all the workers greet you with a smile. They look like they are enjoying their jobs. There was 2 of us. I ordered the chef salad it was huge I took more than half home and our waitress gave me plenty of dressing to go with it. There dressing was really good tasted homemade. My grown grandson ordered Pancakes and biscuits & Gravy. He has been on a quest to find the best diner pancakes in the valley. This place wins!!! I've been going to diners with him weekly for months in search of "Best Pancakes". His biscuits and gravy were pretty good. First time he didn't pepper them to death. He said the gravy was seasoned well. He has taken classes and would like to some day own a diner. He works at as a cook now. So when I say he's picky, he really is. Coffee was very good.Food was hot and fresh. My salad was loaded with meats, cheeses tomatoes, cucumbers and shredded lettuce. All in all out of the many diners we've tried this we both agree Romani's rates as number 1. They have a large menu. The bathrooms were clean and overall it was a great find. So I've eaten here many times today the waitress looked like she didn't want to be their or just didn't care. Shitty racist service, especially if you're a person of color. Not sure if all the staff are the same, but the girl with blue strips in her hair didn't seem to care; we patiently waited for over 15 min for our order to be taken. She kept walking past us and taking "non-color" people's orders. Sad to see the restaurant owners allow this to happen. Might as well post a sign on the front door saying: "Colored people not welcomed." read more

We just went to celebrate my mother's birthday this morning and the wait wasn't too long, the food was delicious and good sized portions, and the service was great. I had two eggs, bacon, home style fries and a biscuit and I could barely finish the bacon and I love bacon! There is no loud music so you can actually hear everyone at the table which was wonderful. They gave my niece and nephew little squishy toys at the end as their "prizes" for eating their food, it was super cute. As a bonus, I found some cool wall art for my house. read more

Ronnie's is a true old fashioned diner. Great friendly and attentive service. The portions are huge and the food is delicious. I had the Greek omelette but asked for only 3 eggs instead of 5. Super frustrated. We order food from here quite often and it is usually really good. Today my husband picked up brunch since yesterday was my birthday and I wanted to sleep in. I was really craving a patty melt so I ordered that rather than breakfast. It looks like someone made my food with their eyes closed. The burger is torn into pieces, onions were all over the place and the bread is ripped with half of it missing on one side of the burger. I am too irritated to even eat it so I just left it on the table while my family eats and went to the other room to pout. Ugh. Today was our 2nd visit here and it was just as delish as our first! I had the chorizo skillet and hubby had the Han skillet- it's huge! We could only eat half and took the rest home for lunch! The waitresses are awesome! Friendly & attentive. The place was packed but it didn't take too long at all to get our meal. Can't wait to introduce more friends to this place! Oh! I went on a Tuesday and was told my order would only come out to around $25 because of the Tuesday promo. After I paid, I realized I was charged almost $40. Even with tax and an 18% tip, the total still shouldn't have been anywhere near that amount. This is the first issue I've had here, so I'm hoping it was just a mistake, but it definitely left me feeling bummed out and confused. I still like the place overall, but I'd recommend double checking your bill before paying.

We were lucky enough to find this restaurant on Yelp, and it certainly didn't disappoint! Our server was wonderfully bubbly, friendly, and gave great recommendations. I ordered the Al Pastor hash, and the unique combination of flavors was absolutely amazing. The owner even stopped by to check on us, making us feel genuinely welcome. My wife and I enjoyed our experience so much that we even bought some merch on our way out! When looking at other people's plates the portions looked very large -- the prices are average -- not cheap but not over the top. I did see someone with a cinnamon roll that looked pretty delicious. My mom had been here one other time and got the cinnamon roll pancakes, which she loved (and why we are here today) -- Nothing was speaking to me on the menu so I just ordered the classic OBH pancakes. I would give them about a 5/10 on the pancake scale. Also they didn't have real maple syrup even to purchase for extra -- they say their syrup is a maple syrup blend -- it wasn't full on plastic but it wasn't real maple syrup. I also ordered a side of scrambled eggs with cheddar -- it was a little runny and overall just average. The coffee was rank -- I would give it a 2/10. Our server was very friendly as was all of the other staff -- that is why I hate to only give 3 stars because it is a great local spot. There wasn't really anything special about the slider, no onions, no pickles, nor special sauce. Just ketchup and spicy ketchup on the side. The caesar salad that came with the steak slider was wilted and turning color and had no dressing on it. Probably won't be back here as the food quality wasn't to my liking.
