Our table cloth has been at Ogden Cleaners since the 17th of December…read more Our house in Malibu burnt down during the fires on January 7th, 2025 and PCH has been closed on and off since then. Today while PCH had a hard close because of rain, Ogden Cleaners charged my partner's credit card (that they had on file) for the dry cleaning of the table cloth that hadn't been picked up yet. They charged them without contacting us at all. Despite no longer having a table, we of course intended to collect the table cloth that they had cleaned as soon as it were possible, since we are no longer living in Malibu due to the destruction of our house. I tell this story to urge others to not store a credit card on file with Ogden's as I consider this an abuse of the honor system. Under the current circumstances created by the fire, of limited access to Malibu from elsewhere, as well as this client's inability to prioritize picking up the tablecloth, it would have been more appropriate to call us with a reminder to pick up the table cloth and let us know that if we were not able to at this time that we would be charged for it. Instead, there was no attempt at contact and I was charged without notification and without my consent. I write to warn others of Ogden's dishonest business practices and insensitivity to our community at this difficult time.

I took a king-sized comforter there to be washed, and the lady at the counter quoted me a price of…read more$50--which was fine. When I returned to pick it up, a different lady was behind the counter. I asked how much it would cost to have a twin-sized comforter laundered, and was quoted a price of $35. This made sense because the king-sized comforter was over three feet wider and ten inches longer. However, when I returned with the twin-sized comforter, the first lady was again working at the counter; she told me that it would cost $45. I asked why, since I'd been quoted a price of $35. Her response was that "the other lady hadn't seen the smaller comforter." Aside from the sizing, both comforters were from the same manufacturer and were identical. Since I'd already given her the comforter to clean, I let it ride. When I came back to pick up the second comforter, the lady who'd quoted me the $45 price was again working the counter. I raised the issue with her, and she became sarcastic, saying "I heard you the first time." So, if you want to deal with what are tantamount to bait and switch business practices, and someone who has a really bad, sarcastic attitude, Westlake Village Cleaners is your kind of place!
