After being a long-term customer, I'm saddened to write this review at such a low-level...I dropped off two dresses, super simple... Was asked "would Wednesday be fine", to which I said not a problem. I went in Thursday morning, waited 10+ minutes to be told the dress wasn't done but it would be ready Thursday afternoon. To "buffer", I went in this morning (Friday), waited 12+ minutes (another customer came in and out due to the delay) and was told it was at another location and was likely delayed due to stains...to which I responded: it's a NEW dress! So then they said the manager would pick it up and it should be available for pick-up in two hours (this was around 7:30am). THEN a VM was received a couple hours later saying "pick-up after 2". When I called back to confirm (little faith at this point), I was given a "laundry list" of excuses (pun intended) when asking for an appropriate discount and they initially refused to give any discount, and then extended a $5 discount...not worth my time to pick up for what was a $30 dress. The prices at Ocean Express have gone up exponentially, and the amount of time wasted, wasn't worth the hassle at this point. *Shifting to one-star review after reading the response and also the reviews of others. read more

Friendly, accommodating and amazing service. So many dry cleaners in Los Angeles price gouge and won't clean clothes and get mad at you for bringing soiled or messy garments. It's insane. As you can see from the photos, they pressed my suit jacket instead of steaming it, thereby destroying it. When I brought it back to them, they denied any wrongdoing. They gave me my $28.75 back, but this is a $625 suit I I now need to replace. I brought the jacket to a reputable drycleaner afterward and they said the damage cannot be reversed. read more

I've been a coming here for years. Excellent service, great quality of work with dry cleaning and tailoring.

I wish I could give this place a much better review. The ladies that work there are so kind and I've had no problems with their dry cleaning service. Unfortunately, a sweater of mine was lost and never found. I had two pairs of pants hemmed and the pair of jeans were ruined by merely trimming the length rather than keeping the original bottoms and shortening the length (hopefully that makes sense). The other pair of pants that were hemmed quickly came undone. I had them re-hemmed and they continue to have loose threads. Their dry cleaning service is good and I acknowledge that I could have been more specific in how I would the like jeans hemmed but I do think that keeping the original bottoms is standard. I did not have to pay for my last cleaning as I requested not to in return for my lost sweater so that's a redeeming fact. I do not require any response or outreach as I've seen previous customers receive. Again, this saddens me to write but I needed to share my experience read more

Oh my God, I love this place! I walked in off the street with an appointment at a coffee shop at the corner and my hoodie string completely pulled out. I asked if they had any way of helping me pull it back through the hood and Griselda, the owner, came out from the back and stopped everything she was doing. She told me to take my sweatshirt off, she got a safety pin, she got to work and less than two minutes later my hood and the string were back in shape. I'm not even a customer here and most people would have told me they were too busy. she's been here 32 years and now I'm gonna start bringing all of my dirty fancy clothes her way! My friend came here to dry clean 2 dresses she wore during my sisters wedding weekend. They ruined both dresses, the white dress turned grey and the other dress had more stains than she dropped it off with. They refused to acknowledge their mistake, they wouldn't correct it by covering the cost of the ruined dresses, and even worse they wanted to charge her for the "dry cleaning". Incredibly unprofessional and rude. In fact they told her "take me to small claims court." DO NOT GO HERE. Several similar reviews where they have ruined clothing and refused to take responsibility. Even in their responses you can see deflection. HORRIBLE ESTABLISHMENT. Accidents happen, but as a business you have a responsibility to make it right. read more

I found ocean express cleaners by reading yelp reviews, I liked that ocean express had many reviews of satisfaction. I came in one weekday afternoon, was quickly measured and pinned and off I went. A week later I came to pick up my dress and it fit like a glove! It was beautifully pressed as well. Very happy with the work done here and the price was reasonable. The woman here is absolutely beautiful inside and out! I had a dress that needed to be entirely resized for me by the next day. Since it was such a large job on a very expensive dress I was worried who to take it to. After searching for an hour online I called them up and she fit me in, even though it's an extremely busy time of year. I assumed that once she sized the dress we'd probably have to make a few adjustments but I was wrong, thank God. The dress fit PERFECTLY, she even had the bottom sized correctly when all I could do was tell her the size of my heel because I forgot to bring them. I'm so pleased. The location on the map is incorrect, Ocean Express is actually on 7th and Montana, in the same center as the new Chase bank and across the street from Starbucks. This is unequivocally the best place to get clothes laundered in the Montana area of Santa Monica. I couldn't recommend enough. Price is fair, and you don't have to mess around with coupons or bulk discounts, just straight up fair prices everyday. Alternations, Laundry, Dry Cleaning all come back perfect. Have a special request, she will accommodate it. Going on a trip? Let her know and she will pack your dry cleaning for travel. This is a life saver. This lady knows her stuff. I've been to some fancy pants alterations places and guess what? I take items to her to get fixed when they screw it up, and she charges me like half of what those places did. Shirts are always pressed well and she has a steel trap memory. She lost one of my shirts once, I wandered in a month later and she says "I found your shirt." Sure enough there it was. Hey it happens. She runs an honest biz and is reliable. I was referred to Ocean Express by a friend who regularly uses the dressmaking services, and here I am now recommending her to Yelp users. She did a really good job on my formal gown and didn't cut corners to make it easier for her to do, like a rolled hem, which most other tailors don't bother to do because it takes more time. It was ready for pick-up on time. Her prices are in line with other tailors and dressmakers in the area, more than I'm used to, but the quality of the workmanship was worth it. I took my sportcoat to 2 other nearby establishments, each time noting a blemish on the shoulder. First place told me when I picked it up, sorry we couldn't get it out. a month later, I took it to another who told me its a permanent stain. that was 6 months ago. I wore the jacket the other day at an event, forgetting about the smudge. Afterwards I took it here based off the reviews and a "eh why not feeling". I can happily report that the jacket was returned to me looking good as new. There might not be any coupons and they may not have a fancy storefront, but they get the job done. And quite frankly, when the competition proved not up to the task, she earned by repeat business with this one. read more

The last place I went to had the bored why do I really need to help you look that most "service" employees have and for bonus points they lost one of my shirts. No problems here. I recently came here to get my wedding dress cleaned and they did a beautiful job - put it in a nice box to preserve it.
