This is one of my neighborhood cleaners and I've been going there for several years. I would say historically, they did an OK job. Nothing remarkable in a positive way but also no disasters with my clothing that I can recall. About two months ago, I brought 5 or 6 cashmere sweaters to be dry cleaned. When I picked them up, the woman at the front charged me $19.95 per sweater. I actually thought she had just made a mistake with the total so I asked her to confirm the cost to dry clean a cashmere sweater and she confirmed $19.95. I know cashmere usually is more expensive to dry clean than other materials, but I think that's outrageous. I paid the total, but then I asked to see the price list and she said they didn't have one! The whole thing was pretty suspect, and I will never go there again. Not to mention, the woman upfront was very rude during the whole thing. I believe they might simply make up pricing as they go and see what they can get away with. I'll admit, that often times I will pick up dry cleaning, pay the bill, and not really pay close attention to what each thing cost. Usually it's roughly what I'm imagining it to be. Just wow! A friend and I ended up on a hike on a whim to which of course it started to pour right as we were in the middle of the trail. My Uggs, needless to say, were covered with dirt beyond getting soaking wet. Even after they dried, they were still so dirty, I was worried they would be kaput. I remember walking by Plaza Dry Cleaners and seeing a sign that they clean Uggs, so off I went! They originally told me it would take 2 weeks, but they took care of it in one. The Uggs themselves? Zero integrity. I was a loyal customer for over 2 years--I took a brand new (worn once) $400 jacket to be cleaned and pressed and it came back with bleach stains on the collar. It was ruined. Things happen, I understand. But deal with the problem. But they game me the runaround--manager not here, Mariam is at lunch, they need to see the receipt (which I brought), the owner needs to approve, on and on. I went 3 separate times and called 2 more times and they avoided it, telling me to come back tomorrow, etc. Don't waste my time. I should have to chase you to do the right thing? They were happy to take thousands of dollars for years from me but when they made a mistake it all changed. You want a dry cleaner who takes responsibility when it matters. This dry cleaner discriminates against women. It cost five dollars more to launder a shirt for women than a man. This is the same shirt the man wears under a suit. And the same shirt that a woman wears under a suit....the woman shirt is going to be even smaller but the cost is higher. Overall all of their prices were higher than other places. I would recommend going to Beverly Hills or Fazio or anywhere else if you want to pay this kind of pricing. At least there you know you will get good quality and clean clothes as well. First time at this cleaners as my old one closed. I will not be returning. They did not follow directions. Clothes on hangers instead of folded. Told me I could come back in 2-3 hours if I wanted them folded. My old cleaners fixed that type of mistake on the spot. Shirt ironed improperly. It's a no-fuss, decent dry cleaning service and after bringing in several pieces here, I can safely say that none have gone missing or have been ruined so far. They have always been on time, including same day service which I tried once and they got the job done. The prices are a slightly more on the expensive side compared to other areas in Los Angeles but it seems average from what I've seen on the Westside. I've been happy with the results and how beautifully they cleaned my garments. If you are nervous about trying a dry cleaner's place for the first time, I recommend starting them off with a test run. Bring in one piece of clothing that you won't likely miss or mind if it gets ruined or lost then see how they do. If you're happy with the results, gradually bring in more items until you feel really confident and comfortable with the store's ability to handle your clothes. This is the same method I did and I finally brought in a very expensive scarf for them to clean and they passed with flying colours. Plaza is my go-to dry cleaning service - mainly because they pick up from pacific plaza and the price is decent. Certainly not the best dry cleaner I have been to but hey its convenient. Very friendly service too when I have gone in! Quality: shirts usually come back 'cleaned' but never pressed or crisp it seems (maybe this is just the beach humidity?). There have been times where they lose my collars tags or a shirt will come back with a slight stain on it. Just seems like a rushed job honestly. Recently I received several pair of pants back and they all smelled like wet dog! Wtf.... I don't have a dog so something on their end was funky. I will likely never see $$ retribution from this but if anybody at the business reads this please take note! Alterations: had a pair of shorts by them sewed up with a slight tear. They did a tip top job but did not bother to clean or wash them as part of the $6 service O_o **Recommendation: if you need fast, convenient, and moderately priced cleaning service in SM this is a fine spot. Terrible service. I have been going to Plaza Dry Cleaners for a long time. The service was not great, but wasn't bad enough to entice me to write a review. But I have had several bad experiences at this place that it encourage me to write a review, and of course to search for another service. First of, you need to print the coupons to be valid. What??? isn't enough by showing on my phone? When bringing a printed coupon they just look at it, don't do ANYTHING else. Couldn't they do that by showing on the phone? (No need to kill any more trees.) I took a dress for alteration. Explicitly ask to be ready on Friday 3:00 PM at the latest. The employee agreed. When picking up the dress it was not ready. Also, when dropping off the dress, I show the employee the coupon on the phone. When picking up they didn't apply the coupon, when asking why, she knowledge to have seeing the coupon on my phone, but could not apply it because she need it print out.. WOW!!!...... I always go here for my alterations- they are excellent! They also deliver and when I was on maternity leave they were so helpful in delivering my clothes always perfectly dry cleaned and beautiful. They have cleaned my shoes, pillows, sheep skin throws, hats! I highly recommend them! Even though I don't live in Santa Monica anymore I still drive from the Palisades to go to them! Altered 2 new dresses, and a pair of pants. Tailor is fairly neat, good job though not excellent. I had a great deal only because I was introduced to this place by the yelp coupon they had $25 for $50. It was purchased orginally because I wanted to clean my white leather jacket, but they didn't do it because they send the leathers out to clean. Exclusions were not listed on the coupon, I would say that they should do that when offering another coupon. Luckily, the coupon came in handy for the right time for the other items as well. Price is about average if I didn't have the coupon, great deal with. There is a small alley with a parking lot, I just swing in there when I stopped by. Staff is friendly, pretty nice and all. I may return with other items as it was not bad at all, or I might find a place closer to home. read more

These guys rock. I've been using them for the past 3 or 4 years after I finally figured out that Flair on Montana was gouging me like a bad episode of Mad Max. They've gotten out most every stain, and only once did they deliver a shirt that was in worst shape after I received it then when I brought it in (they promptly fixed it). They routinely alternate between rolling up my French cuffs, and leaving them straight. I no longer care, and now no longer ask them to do it one way or another. The only reason I started using Plaza dry cleaners is because they do a pickup and drop off at my apartment building in Santa Monica. Their actual cleaning is ok and I've never had them mess anything up but my only issue with them is the timing. I will ask for an estimate when I will get something back (this is when I take items in .. like evening wear or for alterations) and without fail, nearly a week after it is promised to me, it has not been delivered back to my apartment and I have to make a special trip on the weekend for them to find it.. It's dry cleaners so I expect sometimes things may take a day or two after they tell you but a week is excessive and the time I have to spend dealing with them and tracking my items down long after they were supposed to deliver them back is starting to make it not worth the convenience for the pick up and delivery in my building. They truly are a train wreck. Go somewhere else. read more

My first time with Plaza Dry Cleaners and it will also be my last. Their prices are competitive but I can tell their quality of work is lacking. I had varies different items from cashmere to silk to dress shirts & pants done. Of the 3 silk tops, two were damaged. I am very meticulous when it comes to silk fabrics. I will double triple check everything before I drop it off. One of my silk top have stains on the front of the shirt that I didn't put there, and another had snags I didn't create. It's SILK! If it snags its done! My cashmere sweaters didn't look like anything was done to it except they put it on a hanger and gave it back to me folded. I will also note I found a lot threads stuck my clothing that wasn't mine. It certainly didn't smell like anything was done to it, except maybe it sat with some Indian food. In fact, all the clothing had a hint of smell and not like the clean fresh smell. Also, we didn't realize they had a laundered ($2.50) and dry cleaning ($5.95) price for dress shirts and they didn't ask us when we dropped off. GUESS WHAT PRICE THEY CHARGED US FOR? They charged us for the dry cleaning price of $5.95. Would have been nice to be given the option, being it was our first time there. I read the positive & negative reviews on yelp before coming here, but now I really understand the negative ones. I won't even bother asking them about the damages, apparently they turn really rude once there is a problem. Go figure. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR, DO NOT GO HERE! DON'T EVEN LET THEIR 25% OFF OR WHATEVER DEALS THEY HAVE ENTICE YOU, IT'S NOT WORTH IT. At least, for me I didn't think it was worth saving a few bucks to have my clothing that was worth a lot more ruined. I had a crazy making experience with this business. First, I had to request a re-doing of a blouse because stains remain.. with the second cleaning.. the stains remain. When I attempted to use a Groupon for an additional cleaning of a jacket.. I was told I had already used a Groupon and not allowed to use any more. Told this was in the Groupon.. when I showed the clerk that it started 3 per customer.. I was told I could buy 3 coupons but only use one. I suggested that if that was their policy.. they need to clarify the writing on their Groupon. I said why would I buy three but only be able to one. I said that doesn't make sense.. all the clerk could respond with was .. that is our policy.. I learned that their prices are very high.. The charge there for cleaning the jacket was $16.95(seemed like a random decision..she looked at it and announced the cost).. I decided I would not be giving this cleaners my business.. found a dry cleaners around the corner from me charging $12 for the cleaning. Crazy making!! read more
