Lost my grandmother's car key. Also she didn't have a spare. I was able to get a hold of Ronsmith Locksmith and he was able to help out. One of his techs came out and was able to provide a new key. Only giving 3 stars due to some confusion, the tech was able to cut us a new key however wasn't a key fob which I thought we were getting, like how he describe. All aside the tech was able to get us in the car and program the key. I still have to go and get another key fob to control the alarm. read more

I had a master key rotary padlock rust out and was unable to open it with a key... because the key snapped when I tried opening the lock... oops. I was going to buy the equipment to cut it my self but realized it might be cheaper and easier to have a locksmith come out and cut it. I chose this locksmith BECAUSE of his high yelp reviews. I called and scheduled an appointment which he forgot about. HE FORGOT AND WAS LATE THEN BLAMED ME FOR HAVING TO LEAVE BEFORE HE WAS DONE. He didn't quote me prices over the phone, then said upon arrival it would be nearly $200 for 6 locks and 4 keys... ok... He asked if I needed a new part but failed to quote me the price. I figured it wouldn't be much more. I wish I hadn't trusted him. He charged me an additional $65 without clearing it with me first. $259 to get my residential locks changed AND he forgot my appointment AND didn't communicate clearly. PLEASE READ!! DO NOT USE HIS SERVICE! I used Rons services a couple weeks back on Jan 21st. I thought his services would be of high value, I don't know how he has a good rating. I have an older truck and the key i originally had was wearing down and eventually broke in the car door. So I called Ron! He came out and I originally wanted the key to be extracted and a new key to be cut and programmed. There was a 15% discount on his website for first timers. And he never applied that. And he never got my key out he just switched my door handles. I noticed right away that the key he made me was very sticky! I was told it could have been cut wrong or could just take some time to get used to. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and proceeded to use the sticky key he made me. Welllll it broke in the door again, what a surprise. I called for a replacement, his website says 90 DAY WARRANTY with no fine print exclusions! So I assumed I could have a replacement. He denied my replacement saying because the key broke it wouldn't be covered on the warranty. What is his warranty good for then? When I asked him this he ignored my question. Saying he'll only help if he gets his money. Today is February 15th, so it hasn't even been 30 days, and nowhere close to 90. Just BE CAREFUL! I was able to extract my own now two broken keys out of my door handles of my truck within 8 minutes with my girlfriend's nail art tweezers and her jewelry pliers. Which was taking him about 40 minutes and he never succeeded. Careless, shady, unreliable. read more
