Worst place to go to have a good time. I met Erick who was some bus boy or janitor and had some chip on his shoulder. People come to bars to drink; not start shit. Room One Eleven is a bar behind a coke fridge door... and the concept of a speakeasy doesn't excuse poor service. Simply having a Coca-Cola door doesn't make you a speakeasy. They don't understand they're in the hospitality business.The night ended with a staff member Erick COKED-OUT and became confrontational and unprofessional. It's clear management, specifically Felipe, needs to focus more on team accountability and less on the aesthetic. There's no point in returning ever. I feel bad for the bartenders, wasted potential. Erick and Felipe are like two 15 year old boys waiting to pick a fight. Insecure and emotional immaturity. Walking with a chip on your shoulder in the hospitality world is just asking for problems. This was a neat little speakeasy with great drinks! Low light atmosphere could be romantic maybe earlier but when we came in, there was a group celebrating a birthday and they were loud. It was like walking into a company Christmas party where your co-workers are already wasted and singing along to the music using a roll of silverware as their mic. We got a booth in the back so we did have some space. The music is a mix of old time classics and 80s, 90s, 2000s but not mixed in well, just kinda random. If you're younger, you probably won't like this place because of the older crowd and music but if you're older and drunk, you'll probably love it with the music bringing up good ol' memories. read more

Absolutely love this spot! We're from out of town and I found it on Yelp! Speakeasy's are my favorite! The venue itself was so cute and very much a speakeasy vibe, cocktails were phenomenal we had a dirty martini and an espresso martini. Both of which were top notch, but the espresso martini was the best I've ever had, they even add a sugar rim. Our first cocktail was from the bar and service was friendly and speedy. The rest of the evening Hannah was our server at a table and she was awesome, she helped create the atmosphere and the experience while providing friendly and quick service. It's definitely a cool place and different. The password is fun at entry. It's very crowded at night, if you are ok with standing and hanging out then you're good. It was cool to see the old black and white show while hanging out. The drinks were really good and came out fairly quick once we were able to order. We have been several times since it opened. Not often but each time we've had a great experience. Most recently was Valentine's Day and we arrived just as they opened. Perfect! - We wanted a non-set seating times event and this satisfied what we were after. Staff was attentive, so friendly. We also knew the menu is short and quick which was just what we wanted....a couple of drinks in a warm setting, couple of shared bites and an early evening. Truffle fries and the spicy avocado salad was plenty. Remember the Maine and the Vanilla Black Manhattan for him, French 75 (with vodka for me) and another drink that started with Club (also vodka) - just yummy. Mckinney locals beware!! Been coming to the square for 20+ years and never have I ever experienced this kind of disgusting behavior here or anywhere for that matter. Do NOT come here! This place is not only a fake "underground" speakeasy, but it's run by repulsive staff! Our company came here to celebrate our business employee being promoted to part owner of our company and instead of being welcomed in she was treated like absolute trash the minute she walked up. Instead of being celebrated she was made to feel embarrassed, was harassed and belittled in a very public setting for wearing a "baseball" style hat, mind you it's pouring rain out. She has very long wavy hair and was trying to keep her hair contained...humidity, drizzling rain & womens hair do not mix well. We had just walked 3 blocks in the rain from having a wonderful dinner at Harvest. Decided to check out Room One Eleven for a night cap. So instead of having fun, she gets harassed and reduced to tears, by the "bouncer" and staff but somehow it's OK for several patrons inside to have on hats. We inquired about this and they said "sorry baseball hats weren't invented before 1920". Next time "why don't you fix hair before coming here...". Really?! Who acts like this or says things like this? What a complete shame and distasteful representation of our city and beloved Mckinney Square. While this was happening outside , we had no idea, we were waiting for 10+ minutes at the bar for everyone to come in. Bartender finally comes over and just stands there looking right at us, doesn't say a word. Just staring at us like we're crazy for standing at the bar wanting to place an order?? So now we're having this awkward ordering moment, he finally opens his mouth and says "you want something?". I didn't know what to say or how to react. We finally get our drinks, they are sloppy and not even worth it at this point. We drank a few sips town just bailed. We are all extremely annoyed with this place at the rudeness and disrespect. How are influencers recommending people come to this place. It absolutely sucks and we won't recommend anyone here. This place is "Layered Coffee" house during the day, then it becomes a complete dive bar after hours. With so many OTHER wonderful places in the area that will treat you right, make good drinks w/o being jerks, AND make you feel welcome! DO NOT come here and waste your time and money. I like this cool spot in downtown McKinney. It's one of the only few spots that closes at 1. Good drinks, nice bartenders to chat to, and interesting crowd. Crowd is mixed: young and old, and at times you see a an eclectic group of people rolling in after leaving a wedding. Only reason i didn't give it a 5 stars: the music needs to be updated as it's the same one over and over. There owner is a super nice guy. read more

We've been a few times and just don't see the hype around this place. Some of the staff can be rude and slow, the place is always over crowded, and the music is too loud - you can barely hear yourself think. The only redeeming factor is that the drinks are pretty good - but you can find better drinks and better environment/service all around downtown McKinney. read more
