Good location to get to the Meadowbrook or Southern State Parkways. Just down the road from Hempstead Lake State Park.

I understand that not every place is child-friendly, but this is a pizza place! We are excited to introduce our kids to a variety of cuisines from a young age, and we thought pizza would be a good choice. They aren't chicken fingers and fries kinda kids . The food was decent; I wouldn't go as far as to say it was the best pizza I've ever had. However, the meal was overshadowed by the hostess's attitude. Throughout our visit, she kept glaring at us every time one of the kids made even the slightest noise. It felt incredibly unwelcoming. To make matters worse, they do not provide high chairs. When we mentioned that we'd still like to stay despite that, since our one-year-old can sit in a regular chair, it felt like a battle just to get one. It was clear that the hostess was eager for us to leave. Our meal felt rushed, as if we were being timed on how quickly we could eat. Her continual glares were uncomfortable, especially since we were seated right next to the hostess stand. It's unfortunate how much a bad hostess can negatively impact a dining experience. I genuinely hope the management realizes this and considers better training for their staff. Overall, this experience made it clear to me that I won't be returning. They really need to work on creating a welcoming environment for families. Especially because of the town they are located in.

Me and my good friend (new character) skittle decided to go to San Marzano before the rest of our friends showed up so we can get some food and chat before it became chaotic. We were greeted by a very kind staff instantly and our bartender Luke (who I definitely do not know) had us seated and comfortable right away. Lemme tell you I felt like royalty there, Luke is very knowledgable about the whole menu and the place and you can tell he is very passionate for his work, and proud that he works there. For an appetizer I got the rice balls, something small and quick before my blood sugar was in the negatives. I was saddened that there was no meat involved because I am growing boy who needs protein but they were extremely good regardless. Very flavorful, and I was really impressed off rip and excited for what was to come. Oh yeah side note skittles has an allergy to literally EVERYTHING. Peanut, treenuts, shellfish, cheese, water, etc. So he literally didn't want anything. Onto the entree! Luke and I discussed what's the most flavorful thing I can obtain with a hefty amount of protein. He looked me dead in my eye and pointed to the Short rib ragu and told me to add a chicken cutlet. He was so confident in that dish I had to get it. I received it and it was really good, it hit the spot. I thought maybe a little more garlic throughout, I thought the salt was overdone a tad, but the pasta was awesome the short rib was a good portion, and the chicken cutlet was your typical long island cutlet. Actually a great dish that I would get again. I then was in need of a sweet treat. That's how you know I was satisfied.. I don't like desserts or I'm not a fan of really any sugary delight, but I was so relaxed I felt like I had to. I got this hardened chocolate shell with three flavors of ice cream inside and it was good! Again I'm not too fond of sweets so after about five bites I was dead, but then Doctor Bs wife spawned out of literal nowhere and ate the rest. Then about 12 more people arrived and watching Luke in action was like watching Jalen brunson drop 45 on the spurs. Total confidence and was extremely efficient. He then made me a fig martini which also was cool! Had a nice color and a perfect starting drink for the knicks game. I have to give my props to the rest of the staff too, including the manager. Everyone worked very well together and it makes me very happy to see a business come together with the same goal to work collectively to run the place as efficient as possible. Great job, will be back.

We asked to be moved since it was cold and rainy and the door was being thrown open from guests/valet going in and out. Without any hesitation we were moved to a much much more comfortable area. Thank you! We were served by John, he was knowledgeable of the menu and had some great recommendations. We tried the Anthony's Mule drink which is made with a fig vodka. A nice change and very tasty! We were served warm bread and when our appetizer came, they brought more bread for dunking. John was right, we did need more it was sooooooo good in the Clams pot! The clams were a nice size, not tiny, not huge and chewy. Just right! They were served in a pink sauce which we scooped out of the bowl when we were done. It was just that good. I have literally never ordered a chicken parm at a restaurant, I've tried some before and just never really am a fan. But after John told us how good it was, I decided to go for it. I'm so glad I did. The Vodka Parm was soooo tasty! The chicken was breaded perfectly and I ordered it over cavatelli pasta that was cooked nice and al dente. My boyfriend ordered Veal Francese over linguine which he ate the whole thing and loved it as well. There are two bathrooms, I'd recommend going to the one up the steps. The one I have a photo of is fine but the door opens to the dining room so thankfully I remembered to lock it or that would have been awkward lol. It was so immaculately clean the only complaint I have is that the mirror is pretty high up! The restaurant was spotless, everyone was kind and every bite we had was delicious. We will definitely 1000% be back very soon. This place is a gem!

But once I did... oh my God, the sandwich was actually really good. It wasn't the most flavorful sandwich I've ever had, but it was definitely filling and easily covered my protein needs for the day. The restaurant itself is very tidy and neat. The vibe is interesting. It feels like a pizzeria, but at the same time it has a bit of an Olive Garden-style atmosphere. It gives off the impression of being a small, family-run place, which I personally liked. Service was prompt and pleasant, and the waitstaff were very nice and welcoming. Overall it was a solid experience and a nice spot if you're looking for a satisfying meal in a clean, friendly environment.

Both were very good and we enjoyed them. For dessert we ordered a cannoli and split it. We had taken the AirTrain from JFK to the LIRR, and rolled into Mio Posto with our carry-on luggage and backpacks. It's only a block from the Merrick station and we hadn't eaten anything since breakfast. Somehow we were unaware of its existence, despite living only a few miles down the road, so we were happily surprised to see a lively crowded bar with a younger group on the right, a high ceiling, well spaced and white-table-clothed tables in the dining area with older adults (like us) on the left. The owner, "Frankee," greeted and seated us. He also dropped by to say hello and chat ... very friendly, and we saw him sit down at two other tables to chat. One time there was a live singer playing an electric keyboard at the far end of the bar, lots of songs we recognized. There were four unoccupied tables on a narrow second floor nook spanning the rear wall, maybe for a small, private party? Both times the service and food were excellent, from the salad to the entrées to the dessert (including great tiramisu). The last time we were there, I snapped a photo of the jumbo shrimp over spinach with oil and garlic, but didn't bother with photos of the dishes with Parmesan cheese because then all you see is mozzarella cheese on top and not what's under it. FYI, a lot of dishes are called "Parmesan" due to the Parmesan style of layering the entrée (whether it be chicken, veal or eggplant) with sauce and cheese. It's moderately priced. Their "half" portions are often enough for two, so you can often order for one, but get enough for two, especially if it's a three-course meal ... just ask for extra plates.
