A big group of us stopped in here while we were wine tasting last weekend, and it was a great spot. They have some nice beers, and the flights ($1.75 each) are a lot of fun to mix and match. I really appreciated the beer recommendations for each of the food items, too. The food itself was really good, and I really appreciated having it all locally sourced. I had the catfish po' boy ($12 with fries, $10 without), which was perfectly spicy. I know other people really liked their burgers, too. Lovely bar and restaurant. Great choice of local brews, especially the Tripel, and amazing service. Great atmosphere and a super cool live music space by the bar. Had a great time the first night I ate at the bar. Band was incredible in their rendition of 90s alt rock hits. Food was scrumptious and incredibly delicious. Not a local, and this is not a review about their food. Happened to be driving through Watkins Glen and tried to order through yelp/grub hub during covid as both sites stated they are open. Received confirmation about them receiving the order and food ready for pickup. The phone number on yelp did not work and went to a voicemail. No signs outside/on door stating they were open for pickup. Waited for the food anyway as it seemed all was going through the apps. As here were no signs that anyone would come out with food I decided to cancel my order and call Grubhub for a refund. Grubhub was very helpful. I requested that they change the status to closed on their app, however stills says open on yelp. Please try calling them if you plan to order. If they answer go for it. Wish I would have tried calling bf just going through the app. Hope I can try their food someday as it looked tasty! The tomato on the burger was green, and had to be taken off due to it not being ripe. The pulled pork is 7/10 (good for NY pulled pork). I had the Hop Warrior and it lived up to its name. It's hoppy, but needs citrus - and $8. The burger was definitely not worth the price, and pulled pork is close to its value. The decor is old and very historic. The worst dining experience I have had in a long time. Waited 30 mins for a table, which is understandable if there is no room, but after sitting, service was slow and unorganized. Everyone who sat after us, got their food well before us. After an hour, we got our cold, rubbery, watery food, with no explanations or apologies. No one actually ate anything as it was beyond AWFUL, and we just paid the bill in the interest of not wasting any more of our day there. This was literally a 2.5 hour ordeal already. Do not eat here. Disgusting food to match the disgusting service! To start the first server placed our cups down by the rim, not requesting fine dining, however when your walking in and out of the restaurant touching things, don't touch the rim of the glass. Then our server took my husband's drink order and didn't even ask what I wanted to drink, when I asked about the beer, I was told "the list is on the wall in side." Then she brought one appetizer out and stated I'll be right back all of your food is up now. My appetizer, and both meals came out together, a minute after she dropped off his appetizer. She did not come back once to check on us, then delivered our check. I had not eaten my burger as it was to be well done and it was medium rare, also did not have any of the toppings, and my sweet potato fries were soggy. She apologized saying they got it mixed up with someone else's, not do you want dessert, a refill on your drink, how was everything. The restaurant had maybe 4 patrons. I loved the fact that they had music on a Sunday the band was an Irish folk band it was really a great atmosphere. I added the sweet potato fries the burger was not as big as the menu made it sound but had great flavor, loved the blue cheese. The sweet potato fries were average would like to see some type of a specialty sauce for them other than ketchup. My wife had the Chicken Avocado $13 organic chicken wrapped up with avocado, greens, pico de gallo and local cheddar cheese. They were more than happy to make the sandwich without the wrap for my wife. She also had the sweet potato fries. She really enjoyed the sandwich. The sweet potatoes were an up charge of three dollars which I thought was a little steep. I gave it four stars due to the food and the atmosphere with the band. High prices. Very poor service. We had a party of 14, with 6 children. It took over an hour for the children to get their food and then another 30 minutes for the adults to get their food. The children were finished eating and were ready to go. It isn't easy keeping young ones occupied for 2 hours. Also if you need to change a baby be prepared to go out on the blacktop. RoosterFish Brewery is a great lunch spot to take a break from touring the Finger Lakes region of New York. A nicely decorated brew-pub with dark wood booths and pressed-tin ceiling tiles (which I love). Their menu far exceeded my expectations of your typical brew-pub with many unique items and a vegetarian section (check it out on their website). I had the Spin-Shroom wrap which was utterly fantastic, and my wife had the Chicken, Cheddar, and apple sandwich, which was good but needed more cheddar. Their beers are also quite good. I recommend their IPA and their Wheat Ale was pretty solid - tasting mildly of bananas. So if you're in the area and need a low-key, enjoyable lunch spot, I highly recommend RoosterFish Brewery. read more
