Kali consistently delivers phenomenal service -- and always with a genuine smile. One of the downsides of frequent travel is how rare it is to experience truly friendly service. So when you find someone who goes out of their way to make you feel welcome, it stands out. Kali does exactly that. Even when I'm in a rush, she makes sure my food comes out quickly so I still have time to enjoy it before my flight. You can either order via QR code menu or you can order at the bar/table service. Located in concourse A the atmosphere at Rooster's is very relaxed, and feels sheltered from the hustle bustle of the airport. I ordered carnitas mac & cheese and a honey wheat beer. The beer was good and easily enjoyable. Unfortunately I really did not enjoy the old fashioned. It tasted watered down and was HEAVY on the bitters. Cut back on the bitters (I usually only use a dash or two at most) and I couldn't even taste the flavor of the bourbon over the bitters. The carnitas (mac and cheese) was very good although I feel like it would've been better accompanied with a salsa verde. The pork was not smoky tasting but still good. The Brussels sprouts were really good. The double burger was decent, nothing to write home about other than the nasty spoiled piece of lettuce they had on top of it! The fries were awful. Not enough salt, Undercooked, just warm, and obviously frozen before being dropped in the fryer. I had a three hour layover in SLC, so I stopped by Roosters Brewing Co, and it was pretty good for airport food. They have open seating, so you can sit anywhere you'd like. The area it is located by these big windows that look out on the runway and mountains. They have QR codes on the table for ordering, but I ordered with a waiter. The service was fast, which is appreciated at the airport. The food was pretty good, though the beans could use more flavor. Roosters is your pretty typical airport restaurant with a selection of burgers and fried food. They are located in a gate with few sit down options for food, but a mall-style food court nearby. They don't have many of the lighter options I would have preferred mid-layover/pre-international-flight, so I decided to go with the chicken strips. They, and the fries, were perfectly mediocre. To drink, I had their honey wheat ale, which was quite good. The service here is what has brought me down to 3 stars. Like many airport restaurants, you seat yourself. After a moment getting situated, we scanned the QR codes they have on every table to view the menu. Just as we scanned it, a waitress came over and tossed a few menus down on the table, telling us not to scan the QR code as it wasn't accurate. Why not just peel off the QR codes, or update the online menu? We ordered food and drink and it came out in a reasonable amount of time. The woman that brought our food over did not smile or make any small talk with us at all. She brought our food, handed it to each person, and left - I know this is exactly her job, but try to look like you're enjoying it a little, perhaps? Overall, would I eat here again? If I happened to be in this part of the Salt Lake City airport, I suppose, but I certainly wouldn't seek it out. read more

Ordering was a bit confusing because there were instructions on the table of how to place your order without ever speaking with a server, however, about the time we figured out the server-less ordering and were going to place our order, Jacob J. showed up to take our order and said it was faster and more accurate through a server. (Probably should remove instructions from tables?) Drinks arrived quickly, and food shortly thereafter. Husband demolished his Philly Cheesesteak, which he said was as good as others we've had, and his fries (I tried them) were yummy! My wings were naked, as requested, ample in quantity and seasoning was perfect. Pricing was reasonable for the quality and quantity of the food. I love this place. Good standard of airport food. We make it a point to come here every time we are in the SLC airport. What first got us was the cheese curds. As a Minnesotan native I'm no stranger to cheese curds in a variety of forms and these are top notch. They also have a great selection of seasonal cocktails. Perfect location at what will be a HUGE intersection when the airport is complete next year. The beers are great and are the same as you find at Roosters other locations in Ogden. Fresh, great flavors, and served by good staff that is friendly amid the hustle and bustle. Didn't get a chance to eat at this location today but talking with the other guests traveling through, everyone seemed happy with it.
