This place is a gem inside the milk block neighborhood. It has a great vibe. I almost didn't want to leave a review so that less people would know about this place. It's small inside but has a nice decent patio outside to enjoy food and drinks. The service is hit and miss, depends on who you get but I think that that's with most places. They have quite the variety of local beers on tap and unique signature cocktails that you must try. Neighborhood grog I highly recommend. And if it matters to you they play most major sports on the TV. Lots of great energy right now with the World Cup games. Food We tried the scallion pancake, which was a nice little nibble option that has a spicy dipping sauce. We also tried the crispy chicken bites half size which was more than we needed. But the real star was the Thai peanut Caesar salad. I've could eat that every day. Parking is limited depending but a lot of people walk to this area, which is nice and frees up spots but street parking exists. read more

I really wanted to like this bar because I've heard so many good things, but it was a bit of a let down overall. We were a small group of 3 that came in on Monday this week and ordered our food and drinks at the bar. The bartender, Theron, was nice and friendly. The water station was my next stop and the water/metal cups were available for self serve. Nearly every one of the cups were still wet (assuming they were just washed) and some had food particles, which made me a little concerned. I'm assuming they just didn't have time to dry the cup, I know I'm going to be putting water in it, but it's just not very appetizing when the cup is already wet. The drinks arrived pretty quickly after we sat down at the table and tasted good. The food came quickly after and we started to dive in. Everything looked good! The flavors, however, were lacking. I ordered the popcorn chicken, which had enough five spice, but did not have enough salt. The sauce that also came with the chicken was also hard to dip because it was so thick - once you dip the chicken into the sauce, the sauce slides right off. The beef roll was the other item I ordered. The scallion pancake was good, but the beef was way over-salted. It was hard to finish the roll even with the other veggies and the scallion pancake to accompany it. One of the people at our table ordered a salad specifically for the marinated egg and it was left off the order by the time it arrived. The server/bartender apologized and mentioned this was a new menu and they had forgotten it needed to be added - not a big deal. Maybe it was an off day, but it wasn't a good first impression. The food isn't super cheap here, so I expected more carefully crafted and well-balanced food. Logistics-wise, the entrance is also a little confusing and signage to not enter from the north side is not apparent enough. I've seen suggestions for bright colored signs, and I agree because we saw a handful of people not understanding how to get in. Lastly, while the bathrooms are cute and esthetic, it's way too dark. Coming from the dining room where it was midday and very bright to walking into the dark bathroom where the light brightness can't be adjusted was a little annoying. Probably won't be back for a while unless there are some changes. read more

I have been wanting to go the Neighbors since they opened! So glad I stopped in on a Sunday afternoon. They recently changed their menu (see photos) for summer and the cocktails looked incredible. Limited gluten free options but a good amount of veg ones! The fried are not gluten free due to the shared fryer but I did sneak a bite. The aioli was fantastic. Grilled lettuce was also a nice light option. Husband got the braised tofu and edamame and he loved it! Great selection of draft beers, they also had Snowmelt and ciders available for us gluten free folks. Great vibes! Indoor and outdoor seating available. Right next to the 9th line trail so easy to access via bike or walking. Close to liberty park. Excited to have this in the liberty wells neighborhood. read more

Honestly I really wanted and expected to love Neighbors but our experience was very much mid. Maybe the problem was we wanted food late-ish (9) on a Saturday night and the scene was more bar focused than food focused at that hour. The bar was packed and it was a struggle to find somewhere to sit. My cocktail was good but the food was ok. I didn't feel like the beef roll had a lot of flavor and the cheesesteak was also kind of bland. The bar itself is beautiful and the staff was kind. It could have been an off night for food so we will be back at some point to give them another shot. read more

Super cute and cozy little neighborhood bar on 9th. Hot tip: don't be like me and not know where the entrance is. It's on the side of the building and NOT at the front of the building through the patio gate. In my defense, it was dark out and hard to see that there was a side entrance. They have a variety of bites from smaller bites to bigger bites. We got their popcorn mushroom small plate to share, and their scallion pancakes. Both were good, and both came with a chili sauce that was a little bit thick for my taste. The drink specials were good and the service was really quick. Our food and drinks both came out quickly. It was super busy even on a Wednesday night and the space is intimate so there were definitely some people waiting for seats. Excited to see this place doing so well on a weekday! I came on the first day of their soft opening, so it was honestly a bit hectic but nothing that would deter me from coming again. Didn't have to wait too long or anything for food, it was just quite crowded. The vibe is 100% there and I can't wait to come back to hang and chill on a different day. This little neighborhood spot has been open about a month and this was my second visit. The door is on the side (due to proximity to the park and Utah laws) but despite the sign we watched people try and open the locked door in front. The place is new but styled like an old comfortable bar. The tile work is really nice and there's nice details like glass brick and what seems to be hand painted light shades. Today we tried the cold noodle salad and the five spice wings. The noodle salad was delicious - peanutty with a little spice. For the wings it has a dry rub on it- they would've been a tad boring if not for a side of soy chili sauce. The draft beer menu is really good - lots of local beers and even one from Helper brewing. They also have Athletic Run Wild on draft, which is (as far as we know) only the second bar in the county to have an NA beer on draft! read more

5 stars for the cutest pup on their website!!! I mean let's be for reals here, that's the only reason why I drove across town to check them out. Whoever is in charge of their online content deserves a raise! I really wanted to loveeeeeee this place but maybe I was too excited. 3.5 stars rounded up to 4 because they're spanking new! Walking in, there is a sign to show your id to the bartender, who at the time was so busy! He was awesome though. Also kind of awkward reaching across folks sitting at the bar to show your id but you also have to stay lurking around to also place your food order with the bartender. Can get rough if it's gets busier. We ordered the scallion pancake, cold peanut noods, & hot beef noods (special of the week?). To drink we had an amber ale and the neighbors grog. Food came out so quick. The peanut noods needed to be saucier. It was pretty disappointing. The scallion pancake was decent. The hot noods looked very promising and sexy af with the egg on the top. The broth was a bit of a let down as it was kind of bland but the toppings and tender beef made up for it. This place has quickly become a favorite of mine since their recent opening! I'm a sucker for interior design, and there was a lot of intention put into the place. The menu is on point, offering crafted cocktails, local beer, and a variety of dishes with Taiwanese influence. The cheesesteak was delicious! Popped in for a quick bite and a drink and am already wanting to go back! The food was freshly cooked and well flavored. The drinks were delicious and well crafted. The staff was really friendly and the atmosphere was so fun. The inside is pretty small, but during off hours or a sunny day when people can spill onto the patio there's plenty of room. Really fucking loud. Small and not a lot of staff around. First come first serve tables which is frustrating when you're actually hungry. Braised tofu was really salty but popcorn chicken and mushroom version were ok. Bartender was really good tho--- didn't have to wait very long for a drink. Drinks are above average-- pours are light as it is in Utah but the shot and beer technique works well. Pretty stressful experience overall. read more

My wife & I really enjoyed this bar. Really nice service. Cocktails were great and priced reasonably. We've been here three times, tried the popcorn chicken, wings, cheese steak, beef roll, and crinkle fries, and were super happy with all of the food. I came for soft opening and then again a couple weeks later and both experiences were great! Definitely better the second time. I had the Caesar which was yummy and had its own twist on the salad. Also had the cheesesteak, dumplings and cocktails and really enjoyed everything. They decorated for Christmas and have a very cute, cozy and chill vibe. Staff was decent; would be better if they greeted you and said hi or how're you before they straight shot it to 'I need your ID to every person that came in while we were there' Which i get since it's Utah, but a welcome greeting would be more welcoming. Drinks were awesome, draft beer is on point. Food on the other hand- interesting. Cold noodles were bland, hard to break apart. Wings were alright- buffalo is the way to go. Dry rub was a bit much on the cinnamon/clove spice which overpowered them and needs a sauce to complement them.
