Honestly I really wanted and expected to love Neighbors but our experience was very much mid. Maybe the problem was we wanted food late-ish (9) on a Saturday night and the scene was more bar focused than food focused at that hour. The bar was packed and it was a struggle to find somewhere to sit. My cocktail was good but the food was ok. I didn't feel like the beef roll had a lot of flavor and the cheesesteak was also kind of bland. The bar itself is beautiful and the staff was kind. It could have been an off night for food so we will be back at some point to give them another shot.

Super cute and cozy little neighborhood bar on 9th. Hot tip: don't be like me and not know where the entrance is. It's on the side of the building and NOT at the front of the building through the patio gate. In my defense, it was dark out and hard to see that there was a side entrance. They have a variety of bites from smaller bites to bigger bites. We got their popcorn mushroom small plate to share, and their scallion pancakes. Both were good, and both came with a chili sauce that was a little bit thick for my taste. The drink specials were good and the service was really quick. Our food and drinks both came out quickly. It was super busy even on a Wednesday night and the space is intimate so there were definitely some people waiting for seats. Excited to see this place doing so well on a weekday! People in the community are craving spaces like this and it's exciting to see them pop up.

I came on the first day of their soft opening, so it was honestly a bit hectic but nothing that would deter me from coming again. Didn't have to wait too long or anything for food, it was just quite crowded. The vibe is 100% there and I can't wait to come back to hang and chill on a different day. The food I tried: Crinkle Cut Fries - DELICIOUS spice and dipping sauce Buffalo wings - They forgot to make our wings buffalo but did bring us some sauce on the side and they were great! Beef Roll - Loved that it was wrapped in a scallion pancake!

This little neighborhood spot has been open about a month and this was my second visit. The door is on the side (due to proximity to the park and Utah laws) but despite the sign we watched people try and open the locked door in front. The place is new but styled like an old comfortable bar. The tile work is really nice and there's nice details like glass brick and what seems to be hand painted light shades. Today we tried the cold noodle salad and the five spice wings. The noodle salad was delicious - peanutty with a little spice. For the wings it has a dry rub on it- they would've been a tad boring if not for a side of soy chili sauce. The draft beer menu is really good - lots of local beers and even one from Helper brewing. They also have Athletic Run Wild on draft, which is (as far as we know) only the second bar in the county to have an NA beer on draft!

5 stars for the cutest pup on their website!!! I mean let's be for reals here, that's the only reason why I drove across town to check them out. Whoever is in charge of their online content deserves a raise! I really wanted to loveeeeeee this place but maybe I was too excited. 3.5 stars rounded up to 4 because they're spanking new! Walking in, there is a sign to show your id to the bartender, who at the time was so busy! He was awesome though. Also kind of awkward reaching across folks sitting at the bar to show your id but you also have to stay lurking around to also place your food order with the bartender. Can get rough if it's gets busier. We ordered the scallion pancake, cold peanut noods, & hot beef noods (special of the week?). To drink we had an amber ale and the neighbors grog. Food came out so quick. The peanut noods needed to be saucier. It was pretty disappointing. The scallion pancake was decent. The hot noods looked very promising and sexy af with the egg on the top. The broth was a bit of a let down as it was kind of bland but the toppings and tender beef made up for it. I don't think we will be back but I wish them the best of luck and hope they thrive in this NEIGHBORhood! -Sailor out

It was a cool bar with very decent food and drinks. We all loved the popcorn mushroom and the beef roll, the wings seasoning could be better with more salt and less five-spice. My non-alcoholic drink was good, sour and milky at the same time. Such a cool bar to hang out w friends.

Popped in for a quick bite and a drink and am already wanting to go back! The food was freshly cooked and well flavored. The drinks were delicious and well crafted. The staff was really friendly and the atmosphere was so fun. The inside is pretty small, but during off hours or a sunny day when people can spill onto the patio there's plenty of room. Will be back!

Incredible food, great ambience, nice staff, reasonable pricing. Definitely the new spot in town to grab a good snack and a Mr. Rodger's happy meal.

Really fucking loud. Small and not a lot of staff around. First come first serve tables which is frustrating when you're actually hungry. Braised tofu was really salty but popcorn chicken and mushroom version were ok. Bartender was really good tho--- didn't have to wait very long for a drink. Drinks are above average-- pours are light as it is in Utah but the shot and beer technique works well. Pretty stressful experience overall.

What's left of the scallion pancakes.

The reviews were good at this restaurant so we wanted to try it out. It took a while for us to order our food after ordering our drinks because the waiter just took a long time--no surprise there. Once we received our food and the food arrived, upon sight I could tell my crawfish etouffee wasn't going to be good. I eat this meal a lot and I could tell by the color of the roux that I wasn't going to enjoy it, but I remained optimistic. You know looks can be deceiving! What I did not expect was that the food was going to taste as awful as it did!!! It was almost to the point where it wasn't edible. I probably took a few bites and didn't touch the rest. I gave my husband some and he said it wasn't good at all. The alligator cheesecake was such a cleaver idea and cool concept, but it just didn't taste good either. I hate to say this, but I wouldn't recommend this place at all.

The german beers here are one of the best and phenomenal. I can't get enough. The IPA is here are solid as well. Great vibes has TV with sports and a lot of seating and outdoors as well. The only issue I have unfortunately at this visit was I was trying to grab a glass to take home with me. However, there was a huge line for people to get carded so the front desk guy wanted to card them in first. That was understandable as that created a huge line and backed up the front door. However, someone came behind me with cans so he let them pay first and by the time they finish paying, more people were coming in to get carded. He decided to card them instead of letting me purchase a glass . So at that time I had just left instead of waiting for the continuous cycle of getting carded I'm having to further wait. Hopefully when things are busy, they will have someone to help out carting people in. Otherwise fantastic brewery.

We visited at least two, during our four days in SLC. This one was the first: a cathedral-style brewpub with a sports bar aesthetic, with decent food, decent drinks, decent service, and decent prices. Everything was decent. You're not likely to be disappointed by anything you order, but you're not likely to be blown away by anything, either (another thing Squatters has in common with McMenamins, I'd say). During our second visit (to another location, but I'm sure the same rule applies), our party was only interested in ordering drinks (one per person, mind you), but we were informed that we *had* to order some sort of food to accompany them (I'm sure this is more of a Utah thing, rather than a Squatter's thing, but still annoying), so bear that in mind if you're looking for a place to just chill with a beverage and watch a game. Still, the vibe here is lively and friendly; assuming your server is as well, which was a coin flip, in our experience. For a fast, casual chain of brewpubs, Squatters has a lot going for it, and I can see why they are popular, as clearly as I can see ways in which they can improve. A little more focus, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence, and Squatters could absolutely dominate in SLC, and beyond.
