My property manager called Rooter Hero Plumbing to fix a shower that was not working at my rental property. The tech, Carlos, came out and then called me, telling me that the entire plumbing behind the shower had seized and they would have to cut into the wall, costing $1,400.00 (but that was a discount from the normal cost of $1,800.00. The tech explained the process, and I asked him questions about the payment options. He then asked me if he could get started on the work. I told him to wait until I contact the property manager to discuss the cost, and that one of us would call him back in ten minutes. After speaking with my property manager, we decide to get another quote. My property manager called the tech back within minutes, and the tech states he has already started work, and tells the property manager that I authorized the work, and I also gave him my credit card information (which I did not), and then throws in that he will drop the price down to $1,100.00 if we let him continue. If we didn't continue, he would charge $79 on my credit card (which again, he did not have-oh, and the consultation/quote is advertised as free online). Meanwhile the "owner", Jose, of the company calls me on my cell phone and asks me what the issue is at the property. I tell him what went on, and he calls me a liar and tells me I sound like a crazy person! I promptly told him that I want his tech and workers off of my property. My property manager was able to have another plumber out to the house later that evening to look at the problem. The new plumber was able to fix the issue without going into the wall (the handle needed replacing and the screening needed to be replaced behind the shower head, that was it) and the total cost to me was $205.00. RUN from Rooter Hero Plumbing! If the plumber starts talking about how the situation is dire, and that the quote they are giving is already discounted...that is a sign to stay far away. Also, When they ask for all of your credit card information up front, before the quote, stay away (they asked me to fill out a credit card auth before the quote, I refused)! BEWARE! BEWARE! BEWARE!!! If I could give negative stars I would. I am so disappointed and enraged that such a big and well known company would take advantage of a retired elderly couple, 3 years ago they did work for my aunt and they lied to her and to her now deceased husband. Rooter Hero said they would first have a permit for the work done, but lied the city of Pasadena has no record of that. Second, they didn't do the work that was stated on the contract by the technician and supervisor. Now after 3 years she's having problems in the same area Rooter Hero claimed they fixed and charged almost $10,000 for. Obviously it wasn't taken care of, so I contacted them and spoke to somebody named T first who was very rude and told me they had no record on them about permit because it's not customary for them to keep copies which I found odd. So he said go to the city, which I did and they said they have no record of them ever performing any work at the property. I was so upset because they lied. I called back and spoke to Lou now and said he's going to look into it and see what he can do because we don't trust them anymore and don't want them doing anything besides verifying that Rooter Hero lied and took advantage of the customers. Lou said he didn't know why their wasn't a permit, but he would go and camera and inspect the work. He didn't show up, but one of his techs did and indeed verified that they didn't do the job and just took the money from my aunt. We are not the only ones that have been lied to and mislead by with this company. We are asking them to do what's right and return the money for the work that wasn't done because now we have to fix it and we no longer have faith or trust in them. Why want to rectify it now because they got caught? It's not fair that my aunt has to be going through this now and worrying as she is still mourning her husband. Let me start out by saying that I hate plumbers and I believe they are the scum of the earth because of an experience I had over 10 years ago with another outfit I won't mention... ( Mike Diamond) BUT Daniel Martinez single handed changed my whole perception of what a plumber can be....Punctual, Curtious, Informative, Patient and above all very professional. Just speaking with Daniel I felt very comfortable and just knew it was going to be a different experience with him. He went straight to work and headed up to the roof of my second story house and when he returned explained in terms that anyone can understand how the plumbing was set up I'm my home and that he would need to snake out my tub line from the overflow line and that it could not be done from the vent line on the roof. Very quickly he opened the tub line and instead of just doing the minimum he drove the snake much further past the point of clog just to make sure it was done effectively....I truly appreciate a person that takes ownership of his work and goes the extra mile. Daniel made sure to clean any mess he left behind and might I add probably left it even cleaner than originally. The whole experience was a joy with Daniel and if I ever need service again I wish I could say I would request Daniel exclusively but I can't because there is one problem....my wife thought he was the sexiest some-bitch since me and I can't have that kind of competition...In reality I would still request Daniel but I will have my eye on him. We called them out for a clogged kitchen sink, they said it was broken or rusted pipe and would cost 12,000 - 18,000 depending on condition of the pipe when they got in there. They cut a hole in my wall and they cut the drain pipe and none of it was necessary! My brother in law showed up that evening with a buddy of his from the plumbers union and he didn't even have the top of the line snake like rooter hereo's. His first words were "Why did they cut the line"? He worked the line for about an hour as he said he likes to work the pipes lol but after that hour flush! There it went and he snaked all my drains right down to the street, replaced the cut pipe and didn't even charge me a $1000! Actually tip included was under $800! Rooter hero says my bill for the previous days work is about $2000. $2000 to cut a hole in my wall and cut my drain pipe. I have asked for an itemized bill but who is going to fix and pay for my wall??? very disappointed as the salesman Ed seemed like such a nice trustworthy guy lol I ended up paying these thieves 1999.98 for NOTHING!!!! and had to repair my own wall. I had a clogged kitchen sink/waterline. Called RooterHero. Phone response was quick but it was dowhill from there. First appointment they never showed up. They called several hours later to apologize and re-scheduled for the next day. Second appointment the worker arrived 5 hours after the appointment time. Then the worker told me the $77 "special" was not applicable, even though the dispatcher told me it was after I told her I have the required clean out. The worker opened the clean out plug to look into the clean out with a flash light. He didn't bring any tools. On the basis of his flash light "inspection" he recommended a water line pressure cleaning service that would cost over $1000! When I declined, he said he could snake the line for $225. He would not honor the $77 coupon special so I declined services. Sounded like a dishonest bait and switch to me. With the help of basic tools, I was able to unclog the small blockage near the clean out myself after he left. Everything works perfectly well now. I call this company "RooterBait'nSwitch". Rooter Hero to the rescue! I'd been having an off and on clog affecting my shower and laundry. I messaged Rooter Hero on Wednesday at 10:30 pm and got a response in minutes. The scheduler was a doll and so friendly! She accommodated my time request and gave me a window that they'd be there the next day. I appreciated a call from the supervisor the next day letting me know of a minor change in the window due to unexpected circumstances which I totally understood (I was just glad they were still coming since I assumed I was their last scheduled appointment for the day). Cris (with no h!) A showed up to help me out. He was amazing!!! That guy deserves a raise! Friendly, helpful, and a hard worker. He snaked my drain 3 times just to make sure he got any and all obstructions out. He wanted to make sure the problem was solved. He made sure to honor my coupon even and the whole process was simple and quite quick. I'll be recommending them to my neighbors and plan on using them in the future if I get more unfortunate clogs. Both bathtub drains were very slow. I had a $77 coupon so a Rooter Hero plumber came out and ran a snake through the faucet area of both tubs. However he did not run a snake at the plug in the floor of the tubs. There was NO improvement, the slow drain in both tubs was the same. He said the whole permanent plug would have to be removed and it would cost $800 to do that. Then he also proceeded to tell me my pipes needed to be replaced and that would cost $2100. I told him I could not afford that and he said they would be happy to finance it. I said, "No thank you". Then I happened to see a video on Facebook with the same kind of plug that I have, and this little orange snake pulling out a bunch of gunk from a tub. I went out to Amazon and bought a package of 3 orange snakes for $5.99. My boyfriend ran the snake through the permanent plug in the tub floor drain of both tubs, and guess what? It worked beautifully. I am no longer standing in ankle deep water thanks to my $5.99 Amazon purchase. I would not recommend Rooter Hero to anyone. read more

I contacted the company for a cable out and ended up having a broken sewer line repaired. I am pleased with the work and the company. I did not get other quotes so I don't know if the price was the best... but from other people I have spoken with it was about what should be expected. The work was well done by Anthony. He was friendly, hard working and fielded all my questions and concerns. He was ably assisted by Steve who handled the camera work. Anthony was obviously concerned about the quality of his work and took care to do a good job. He cleaned up and made sure the concrete patch looked nice. I would recommend the company. This kind of problem is always expensive and depressing to find out about. But, it has to be addressed and repaired correctly. I am confident that I now have a functional sewer- and that is more then a little important. I would recommend this company and these men. One of the most professional companies I have worked with in a long time. I found out about an emergency leak in my walls the Saturday after Thanksgiving. I got an answer right away when I called and Rooter Hero was able to send someone out within 2 hours. The job ended up being MUCH bigger than expected- I worked with Byron and Robert- both super professional, responsive, and accommodating. They had to come back a few times to identify an issue, but were always extremely responsive and took the time to explain the process and cost to me. The only recommendation I have (and this is nothing to do with Rooter Hero) is to have a comparision of cost from another company. For me, I had to have some epoxy work done, which was a $10,000 job. Since I had tenants, I had to move forward with him, but if it was just me I would have held off to get another quote, again as a comparision). Monique, the receptionist, answered my call when I had an emergency plumbing situation happen on 3-02-17. She was polite, prompt, professional and courteous. She kept me up to date as to when the technician would arrive and who he would be (Rudy). Around 45 minutes later a plumbing technician, Rudy, (Tech # 6790) arrived and assessed the problem. He is a very good man and knew exactly what he was doing. Rudy is the definition of a professional. He turned this more than minor flooding disaster around in a manner of minutes and I was very relieved. I would recommend this service to anyone with plumbing needs. The quote/pricing was very fair. I had a flood in my house so good thing I had a business card from one of the technicians Raymond Salas I called the office and requested he come out to see my problem and he came out right away and figured out the problem he called Kevin and ran it past him this was on wednesday Kevin came out thursday morning got on the phone to get me a fair and affordable price because it was a big job that included putting a new tankless hot water heater, so they got on it permit from city called his team set everything up for 8am monday morning and yes they were at my door setting up at 830am...I was soo relieved that night because after 3 day of No Hot water I finally had a Hot Shower....These guys Raymond and Kevin and the team they brought in was very awesome and Respectful to my needs and reassured me the holes were just temporary to help my anxiety relieve some =) 5 ***** For Sure!!! Excellent Customer service from George.We are senior citizens.The kitchen drain was clogged every time water from upstairs shower drained. I explained the problem to George he immediately told me probable cause and returned to his truck to get equipment to unclog. My kitchen faucet also had a steady drip . I asked if he had time to check it. The faucet was maybe 12 years old he tried to save it but it was beyond repair .George showed me the corroded pieces. George instructed me of the correct size faucet with a sprayer to replace. I went to Home Depot and he replaced it the same day . George explained everything he repaired. I was sure cost would be higher than coupon that I had received online. There were no hidden charges my husband and I were more than satisfied with how courteous and friendly he treated us. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!!!! They are incompetent theives. Called them out to open a drain line at a building because of a sewer back up. They allegedly tried jetting the line three times, but did not actually unclogged anything. Then, after allegedly running a camera, they told us that the line was broken and needed to be replaced or sleeved at a cost of about $25K. Thank goodness I did not beleive them. Called in another company who quickly snaked the line and completely opened it. They ran their own camera and told us that the line was fine and no more work was necessary. Rooter Hero is a complete scam. They did not do the work necessary and then lied to us about the problem during an emergency situation and tried to sell us on tens of thousands of dollars of unnecessary work. Jeremy and Westley are terrific in their customer interaction that I felt confident that I am dealing with the right company. They are very professional and efficient and work fast. Call them out to replace my water line from the toilet to wall. Stated I needed a new toilet, because mine was old. Art said to replace it would be almost cheaper than to rebuild it. They also sent a camera down my sewer and said that I needed it replaced. They quoted me a price and said that it would take just a day to complete it. Would be done by 6:00 pm. Well they ran into some difficulty because of the material and workman ship that the previous person did. It took them until 9:30pm. to completely hook me back up so I could use the toilets. They had to come back the next day to complete the job. Art and the crew were working all the time. The price did not change. I will use them for other plumbing that I need to have done. read more

This company just completed a huge job for me. They replaced 90 feet of broken sewer line from my guest house all the way to the street. They were here every day on time [big job, took several days], and they not only did what was contracted for, they ["Josh S." the plumber] did some additional stuff that wasn't required in the contract at no charge. Josh and his helper even worked until 8 PM one evening so that we wouldn't have to stay in a hotel [no sewer to the house]. I was very impressed! Had an emergency situation last night at 8pm, Our roof was leaking due to a clogged drain in the rooftop gutter. We contacted Rooter Hero in need of immediate assistance and they sent Michael out in about half an hour. Michael was patient and professional. He definitely did his best to address the situation on the spot. We were not able to fix the problem yesterday evening as it was more severe than we anticipated, but he came back today and finished the job quickly after accurately diagnosing the problem. My toilet started leaking out the bottom base where it meets the floor. I called it in Thursday afternoon and plumber arrived same afternoon. Toilet bolt had broken and toilet became uneven. Toilet flange was too low so toilet still didn't sit right after toilet was was reset. Flange adapter installed over existing one bringing up to working level. Still toilet wiggled so next day plumber returned with supervisor to get it right. They never gave up and solved the problem with no charge for last visit.
