if you want to get ripped off and treated rudely, look no further. this is the first time i've ever written a negative review.. but wow. i'm still shocked at the experience i just had. i worry about all the people who are deceived and get taken advantage of by people like this. i reached out to velavi heating & air for a quote to move our furnace to the attic. i was initially impressed by the 5 stars, but my experience was far from 5 star quality. they sent a guy from "rooter hero plumbing" to give me an estimate. velavi is willing to partner with a shady company like rooter hero plumbing, i wouldn't trust them with anything. when the technician arrived, everything was fine for the most part. he was generally nice to begin with. i showed him where the system was. he started some small talk with me. asked why i wanted to move the furnace and i showed him where i had an idea to expand the bathroom and he said he loves construction stuff blah blah blah. he seemed to be rather friendly. then- he asked me to turn the AC on. i turned it on as he requested, but remember, he's here to give me an estimate for moving the FURNACE. he then went over and told me my AC isn't working very well, that it's not that cold fast enough (total BS) and i'm better off getting a new replacement. huh???? he also repeatedly kept saying "i'm not trying to sell you anything" but kept saying how my 6 year old AC is old and better to be replaced. of course he did.. who am i kidding. he's not being nice, he's being a shiesty sales guy. he still hadn't looked in the attic yet FYI. just pointing his temperature gun at my AC vent and telling me it's not that good and probably better off being replaced. i didn't call them to check my AC (which was just replaced in 2016).. i called about moving my furnace to the attic. he also kept telling me they wouldn't be responsible for any damage done and that no warranty would be given. so now i'm thinking he'd gladly damage my equipment on purpose with zero liability so that'd i'd have no choice but to replace and they can scam me even more. he finally goes to get his ladder from the van and goes into the attic, makes a call to his installer jose to consult with him, came down and told me it could be done but they have to a cut a massive hole in the ceiling. he didn't take the time to explain what else would need to be done, or moved around, etc. so naturally i had some questions, including if there was another place he could put the furnace in the attic because the area he suggested was above the master bedroom and would be noisy. he laughed and rudely said "want to go look up there yourself?". sheesh. i had to ask him if he would be cutting any support beams up there, to which he responded condescendingly "yes you don't need them". that may be true, but he should explain everything he's going to do, especially cutting structures of my home. any questions i asked, he responded rudely and with condescension. i guess he didn't like the fact i wasn't as dumb as he'd hoped to make a quick sale. **FYI: i got another opinion after this and there are other areas in the attic it can go other than above the master bedroom. this other company actually took the time to look all around the attic for options. they thoroughly explained all that would need to be done and happily answered any questions i had. their price was a fraction of velavi's quote and the rep wasn't a dick** i asked him if he would have to email me the quote and he said he could crunch the numbers now. he then called jose again and stood there awkwardly in silence as he waited on jose and worked out something on his phone. he was already really rude at this point, ignoring my questions, just on his phone. asked what other companies have quoted me. then showed me the screen and said "is this workable?" $14,000.... lmfao when i told him his $14,000 estimate with NO WARRANTY was not in my budget, he rudely told me to pay him $90 for his time. i told him the estimate was free and i have it in writing. he proceeded to call hector to double check and then he told me he'd "honor it this time". you need permission to honor the word your company gave me? that's a no brainer. save yourself from the SHADY SALES TACTICS and bad attitude. GO WITH ANOTHER COMPANY. this is the first impression. can't imagine how awful it would be actually working with these people on your home. if you still want to get a quote from them, make sure you have in writing that it's a free estimate. otherwise they might try to demand you pay $90 for the estimate when you don't sign a contract with them right away. so unprofessional. dishonest. and then extremely rude when i did not jump at the insanely inflated quote they gave. he bumped his ladder into my wall going out the front door and didn't apologize or anything. maybe his karma was tripping over his own equipment on his way out. read more

Am writing this review because it's no longer the age of words of mouth and I did check the review and rating of Velavi Heating & Cooling on Yelp before selecting it. So here it is. Day 1 post installation of HVAC system: no more anxiety after 2 days of installation and re-ducting. Installed system works as expected and as explained by Luis, Jose and the installation lead technician. The anxiety was from the fact that our place is carpeted though not new and of course whether this big expense comes with a headache or not. Turn out, needless anxiety: the installation crew is very affable, professional, efficient and respectful. By the completion of installation, impressively, every crew member, took turn to do a walk thru to make sure no small sharp thingy were not removed. Our place was as cleaned as before the installation work done and NOT a single minor wall damage. In summary, it is a nice surprise to discover Velavi H&C, represented by Luis, Jose, the installation crew and Vanessa (Front Office) is a company that says what is does and does what it says. We had a lot of issues on my unit. I mean a lot! I did my homework and went to 5 contractors to get the best offer. Hector had the best price. At first I was skeptical but I had him explain what he was offering. Hector was patient with all my inquiries and frequent my home to explain his technical and commercial offer. After all my clarifications answered, it was clear that he is NOT a used car salesman just to make a sale. In fact he was after the service and my satisfaction. I concluded that he knows everything from bottom-up and made the call to go to him! I'm totally satisfied and very happy that I made that decision!. His crew finished the job in two (2) days. They came in, sweated-out in my attic, did what there supposed to do and left without dust and debris in my home. The workmanship is two thumbs up! I had an AC installed from another company 2 years ago. That company would not honor their work when our AC went down. In the middle of a heatwave I called several AC companies, most were too booked to come out. I located Velavi Heating and Cooling and was very surprised they would come out so quickly. Our central air conditioning system stopped working on Saturday afternoon. I found Velavi, with its high customer ratings, on Yelp that same day. They came to diagnose the problem on Monday, mid-day, and figured out the problem in short order. They ordered the replacement part needed on Monday as well. They came the next day (Tuesday) to install the new part-again, in short order. Now, everything's cool. The technician, Luis Aguilar, came both times. He seemed knowledgeable, competent, and courteous. He got to the heart of the problem right away, and solved it within 24 hours. I recommend his work to anyone with a similar problem. The work included complete removal of the existing system, electrical work, relocation of the condenser, adding a new return, and new system install. Hector (owner) wrote me back almost immediately upon my request through Yelp: "Thank you for contacting us, Our next available appointment is for next Wednesday from 12-2pm. Please let me know if this works for you. We do have a diagnostic fee of $79 which is waived if you decide to do the repair with us." Responsible service! Me and my wife finally decided to replaced our old furnace(with old and unsafe asbestos) plus our central aircon system. After talking to several contractors we decided to hire Velavi through Luis.
