I requested quotes from several companies and got a wide range of prices. To service my central AC unit I was given quotes from 150$-450$. After making some follow up questions we decided to go with Velavi because of competitive price and they could fit us in that same week. Great I thought. Let's do it. On the day of the appointment the service tech never showed up. I sent a follow up message and was given some excuse about the computer system being down and blah blah blah is what I heard. To their credit they sent a technician out on the next business day. The tech was masked and cleaned out the filters that had ten years of gunk. They cleaned out the coils checked the levels and connections. They AC was running like a champ again. So in conclusion, I am giving them a 5 star rating because 1) they admitted that they made a mistake by missing the first appt.( who here has never made a mistake) 2) they were upfront about their pricing and what was included 3)the technician didn't try and add any made up services that we would need and showed me exactly what he was doing. 4) finally, they knocked off 25$ for missing that first appointment. Short version: Absolutely fantastic from start to finish and very, very competitively priced! Permit inspector actually said "wow" when he saw the quality of work on the install. Longer version: My daughter moved into her new home in Gardena and it needed A/C installed quickly before the summer heat set in. I used yelp to find a few quotes and thought they were a bit high compared to the price of the A/C replacement in my own home (one company quoted $10+k without asbestos abatement, permits or HERS test which would add on about $1k). I noticed that my daughter's neighbor was in the process of getting A/C installed so I knocked on their door and asked who they were using and if they were happy with them. They were very happy with Velavi and told me how much it had cost which was a lot less than $10k! Obviously I called Velavi to quote for the install. They were easy to call/email/text with, turned up on time, and responded quickly. The quote included asbestos abatement in the attic and furnace, permitting and HERS testing and came to $8,700. Since I looked them up on Yelp and noticed they were offering a free Nest with a new installation I got them to install one ($75 rebate with gas company!) so that was the icing on the cake! As a 1st time homeowner this was going to save my daughter a lot of money, plus their reviews were fantastic, and we got a personal recommendation too. You can't get much better than that! The install took an entire day and the guys who worked on it were all friendly and hard working, making sure they kept the house clean and tidy, and explaining everything to me as they installed. When I did the final walk through with the boss I was surprised to see that they had covered the line running down the side of the house to the outside unit and painted it with the exact paint color to the house. They left the paint for me in the garage for any touch ups too! Great service. The permit inspector was very happy passing everything to code, and he was impressed with their work. Normally he finds something that requires a tweak, but not with Velavi, they got an A+ straightaway. So a big thank you to all the guys at Velavi, Jose, Hector, Michael and all the other's whose names I haven't mentioned...oh and Vaneza in the office who drove over to deliver the HERS/permit papers for the inspection. (The company they use for the asbestos abatement and the HERS test were really professional and friendly too. I love the fact that the HERS company was run by a woman and that 2 women came to do the test - you go girls! - I like supporting women in small business). If you are looking for a company to install your A/C or furnace, or you just need a repair or tune up I would certainly recommend Velavi to you. Velavi is a very professional set up and easy to work with. We installed at our Redondo Beach home 3 ton forced air heat and cold system of Daikin. Starting with Luis Aguilera their Manager who provided estimate after studying our wall heater replacement requirement on the same day and negotiated in good faith. the estimate turned out to be lowest. Their office staff Veliz and Venezia are very supportive and provided contracts and invoices with out any delays. In fact there was no instance of unpleasantness at all. Very next week the installation started under supervision of Luis. Another expert is Jose who was able to guide his team and in many cases did the work himself. All the work was up to the city code. Jose also installed Nest Google Thermostat and no extra was charged. He got the Nest connected to my IPhone 13 promax. Amazing expertise. Another team member dismantled the wall heater and did the dry wall which was ready for finish. The team cleared all debris on each day for the three day period. Jose on the final day calibrated the heating and cooling. He explained to us all components and exhaust on the roof etc. we were more than satisfied to say the least for the entire process. Called Saturday to make an appointment for an issues with my AC. When calling, their number was answered by a call center. A few hours later received a call from them and they made an appointment for today Sunday from 9-12. I didn't here from them so called back at 12. Again a calling service answered and said they would message their service department for eta. No call back by them so I called them for eta. Again told they would have the service department call me. Called a third time and got the same response. At the time of this review, it is 5pm and they called to tell me if I still need them they have someone available tomorrow. No thanks! Over priced and not responsible. read more

I need to give minus star to Velavi, but don't have it. I'm disappointed diagnostic from Velavi Heating & Cooling Inc and charge me $60. My airflow fan stops working. I contact Velavi and made schedule. Jose (owner) arrived on time. He took 5 minutes to take a look my furnace without tools or equipment. No testing at all. He told me motor was burned, not working. I have to change motor or furnace. They gave me quotes. The cost of motor and capacitor is $961. The furnace cost is $2600. I disagreed with him because I heard motor hums, but it cannot start. After he's leave, I tested the motor by using chopsticks to spin the motor. The motor stared and blow out the air again. So I decided to order $15 run capacitor from Amazon with two days shipping. After I changed the capacitor, my AC is blow out the air properly. Don't do it by yourself if you don't have electrical background. You have to hire touch company to do it, but not Velavi. This company charge me for visiting (not diagnostic) and trying to get big profit by replacing unnecessary hardware. Be careful to use this company services. Don't believe what they say. Not recommend to deal business with Velavi. read more

I had them replace my hvac system, went from an 8 seer to a 14 seer but then they found out that the 14 seer was out of stock so they upgraded me to a 16 SEER with a 3.5 ton for free! Their pricing is SO reasonable, I compared a lot of companies and Velavi was always the one to beat. Brandon and Douglas were our installers and they were AWESOME. So knowledgeable and made the experience really easy for us. They even got the nest app set up on our phone. I wasn't even able to offer them water because of other construction in my house and they still did everything with a super positive and upbeat attitude. 10/10 would recommend to everyone. read more

After my best friend's air conditioning went out and her first appointment scheduled did not show, I decided to be a good friend and help. I immediately looked up HVAC companies that provided service in her area on Yelp. Within a very short time, I had several responses including one from Velavi. They said they could arrive the next day around 12pm (it was about 6:30pm and I put that it was not an emergency), so I scheduled the appointment after verifying payment methods accepted. After providing the details to my friend, she was hesitantly optimistic. The technician Luis showed up during time given and provided outstanding service. He quickly assessed the issue and consulted with my friend on the pricing. After she agreed to the pricing (which was very reasonable and less than we anticipated), he quickly made her repair. Her AC started cooling off her hot house and she was very pleased. My ac unit stopped working so I went on yelp to find someone. I sent them s message with my problem and they got back to me within minutes. We quickly set up an appointment for a day later. They text message me to confirm appointment and also called Friday morning. The tech named Jose came a few minutes early and found the problem within minutes. It ended up being the ac fuses. Along with changing them he told me how my ac was looking and changed my filter. Service call was 60 and fuses 40. A couple of the places wanted 90 just for the service call.i was very happy with his service and professionalism. If you need someone honest and dependable I would recommend him. read more

Our home already had the ducting and vents setup for the AC unit so really just needed the confessor unit and corresponding installation. Hector arrived right on time and was very professional and through with his evaluation. They quoted a very fair price for a Trane unit and after doing my research I validated that they were certified Trane Comfort Specialists which means that they have been certified by the manufacturer to adhere to high standards for installation. 1/7/2022 Updated review: Jose reached out to me and apologized personally for the mishaps. I made an appointment to have the install corrected. Yesterday, 2 of Velavi's service technicians came out and hung the furnace instead of laying it on the original floor platform. After an hr or so, the install was done. And now, there's no noise! Quiet as can be! I'm very happy it's running quietly without shaking and rattling. Thank you everyone as Velavi! Initial service was great and attentive. Sales rep gave us a great price on a new Daikin system. I had been shopping and getting different quotes from over 10+ companies. Velavi had the best price so we went with them. The installation crew was great as well. They replaced an old central heating and a/c system over a 3 a day process. They gutted out all the old Insulation and replaced it with brand new central A/c and heating. They even helped me set up the Daikin app on my phone. And now we can control the temp settings on the phone. Everything was working fine. Now comes winter and we're using the furnace which is up in the attic. The furnace is located right above my kids room and every time it run, it has the loudest shaking noise. The walls are rattling and you can feel the vibrations of the furnace running. It sounds like a helicopter in their room. I called Velavi to have someone service it. My appointment was from 10 am-12 pm. At 11 am I called to confirm someone was still coming out. Vanessa answers and tells me that he's running late and won't be there until 1 pm - 3 pm. That there was a delay from the first job. Well that's great... So he finally arrives. He's not there for more than 10 minutes. Tells my mom someone will be in contact with me. It's now another week and no one has contacted me. And the rattling is still continuing.... If I had left this review in June when the brand new ac and heating was placed. It would've been 5 stars. Great service. Great install. It's now only 2 stars because we have a years warranty on installation. Their work obviously needs improvement if my whole house is shaking and my kids can't sleep from the noise. read more

I called on a Saturday because my AC stopped working. I asked if they had availability on Monday. I was given the option between 12 PM - 2 PM and 2PM - 4 PM. I chose 2PM to 4 PM. Monday rolled around and I called a call center to confirm they were coming. I was told they would call me and let me know. I never heard back. I called at 4 PM to ask what happened and was told they were running behind and would need to reschedule. Whoever I spoke to said they would speak with management and get back to me to let me know when they could come. The next day I didn't hear back until I received a text message close to 3 PM that someone was on their way. They also called and interrupted a meeting. It was too late because another company had already fixed my AC. Their lack of communication made me waste time waiting for them. I do not recommend this company unless you want to risk getting stood up. read more

Tenants have been without AC for a week. Our AC guy who usually maintains our AC unit for 16 years had just inspected and refilled all freon three months ago. Finally he said this after inspection, "I know as a fact this reason that condenser coil is leaking because tenant 's dogs are urinating on the coil. Dogs urine contains acid. I seen this so many times before. Last time when I was at the house there was no dogs. This is why you need to do the check up and maintenance." Then he said $5500 was the price to replace the R22 system. Was told by another company that was the tenant's dog peeing into the condenser and needed to make sure gate is put around it next time. Tenants upset without AC for a week. Very hot week and tenant needed right away. Finally landlord approved and we contacted Hector via Yelp quote request for new AC unit on a Sunday. Hector immediately responded even though it was on Sunday for broken AC. Thank God Hector responded right away and was out first thing Monday morning. His quote was $4800 for a five ton AC and new coil and condenser. Was very reasonable compared to all the six AC companies who wanted $5500-12K. Hector allowed us to pick any brand and we chose Day and Night brand because it was first on list of AC conditioning rating. He ordered the same Monday we called even though we didn't give him deposit yet and installed immediately the very next morning. Tenant very happy had bowing cool air in every room by early afternoon. What a relief! Hector was Very nice, knowledgeable, efficient, easy to deal with. Even installed a three inch base to help with elevating the condenser to help avoid the dog pee. We will be putting a playard gate around the AC unit or else this will happen again in a year. read more

Very strange process. They answered the phone as Whittier Plumbing & Air, not Velavi. I was trying to get an estimate for new install of Daikin HVAC system. After the woman collected my address info & appt time was agreed, she said they had a $89 dispatch fee & they were running a promo for new installs only that if we go with them the fee would be waived. I said please cancel because I already had two Daikin estimates from Southwest HVAC & Thompson AC without charges or promos. Then she tried to explain that I wouldn't have to pay. I replied, 'Only if I go with you'. She laughed & said 'So do you agree'. When I said 'absolutely not', she told me to have a nice day and ended the call. If there is that much confusion, miscommunication and doubt created in the appointment scheduling phone call, I can only imagine what we could experience if we actually used this company. It's all about the first impression and that was definitely not a good one. Still scratching my head on why this is listed as Velavi on Yelp but they're answering their phone under another company name. read more

OKAY! Where do I even start?! I needed someone to come in ASAP during these record high temperatures and I was on Yelp at around 7PM on Sunday and within 10 minutes we were booked for 9/8! Jordan was able to come before the appointment which was even better because I am currently 8 months pregnant and DYING in this heatwave! Thankfully, Jordan arrived and got straight to work and was able to detect the issue almost instantly! He was super fast and helpful and was able to get our downstairs vents going as well! Jose checked out my heating unit that wasn't working properly. After taking a careful look at the outside unit and the inside unit he discovered it was our filters that were filthy and blocking the air flow of our heating unit. Our heater decided to stop working in the middle of the night. This was a big concern since we do have an infant in our house. Luis at Velavi was able to stop by within 48 hours and diagnose the issue. He was able to get the heater working while he ordered the replacement part. On the hottest day in LA county history, my AC broke. It was also labor day weekend, on the Sunday. With a 4 year old at home, and cooling stations closed due to CoVid-19, I was panicked. Velavi responded to me within the hour, and set me up for the first appointment the next day, which again was Labor Day. My condenser was broken, they had the part in the van, and we were back to full AC within one hour of arrival. To say they were easy, amazing, and well priced is an understatement. Had to wait over a week for an appointment but I understand due to COVID they have delays.
