I called Rooter Man in Framingham and secured an appointment to unclog my outgoing sewer pipe. Carlos showed up within the time frame the company set aside for me. When I called, the man assured me that the workers are neat and careful not to make a mess. And that was absolutely correct. Carlos was personable, polite, and explained the situation the steps he was taking each time I asked a question. He put down his drop cloth and used part of my plastic to cover the washing machine. Carlos used the other piece like a surgical drape and protected all the surrounding pipes, wall, and drop cloth, only exposing the valve. He also had a pail to catch any dripping liquid. It took patience, time and effort to clean out the pipe. Throughout the cleaning process, he never complained or expressed negative comments. I could tell he was confident that everything would turn out very well in the end. He explained that I have like a "belly" in my pipe and things like toilet paper settle there, causing the exiting water to be somewhat blocked. He asked me what type of toilet paper I used and came over to see a package of my 1 ply Cottonelle paper. Once he had me turn on the bath tub water and later he used the downstairs sink to see if the water would move through the pipe to the street sewer line. Then he went outside to observe the flow of water in the catch basin, and things were moving well at that point. I was very impressed by how he prepared for the job, answered all my questions, and asked me additional ones. There was nothing to clean up afterwards unlike years ago when the dirty water spilled onto my floor when another company unclogged a more serious blockage. I was thrilled having nothing to do once the job was done. Awesome prep and job! I will have this company clean out my pipe in about 5 years to avoid any problems. I would highly recommend Rooter Man for any pipe issues. And Carlos deserves much praise for his excellent work ethic and willingness to make everything go smoothly and easily for the customer. Do yourself a favor & do not call this company!!!! if i could review with zero stars i would!!! we had a clogged toilet & called them to clear the clog. they did come out quickly. the man that came cleared the clog & told us that they offered a 7 day warranty. 2 days later same toilet clogged again!!! i called rooter-man back & they sent someone else to clear the clog. next day same toilet clogged again!!! they sent the 1st man out & he cleared the clog again. (not without giving me the 3rd degree (15 questions) about whether we flush anything other than toilet paper. duh...no!!! today, 1 week later toilet clogged again!!! called them again, i was told that we'd be charged for the visit even though they obviously never fixed the original problem! i was told that they would not warranty this time because they had to come back 3 times for the 1st clog! owner won't warranty the work if they come out again!!! obviously it was never fixed properly the 1st time!!! if owner won't warranty work that clearly wasn't done right originally, then i will write an honest review of the company on yelp. i asked to have the owner call me to discuss & unsurprisingly, no one ever called!!!! i have never written a bad review of any company before! my next step will be to make a complaint against them with the bbb. what good is a warranty if they don't fix the problem???? read more

My family has been using this company for over a decade but that has sadly come to an end. Beginning of May the company left me a voicemail for yearly root clearing service. The young man that showed up was rude and condescending and claimed he couldn't open the pipe and that we've never had it open in years-- yet we've used them every year. When it came time to pay the price magically changed from what we were told over the phone. Called the office to discuss and the woman was beyond rude and actually claimed I made up the price and they never said that or I had called a different company-- when they left me the voicemail. They came out to address a sewage blockage issue. They snaked the blockage by removing the toilet and incorrectly diagnosed the root cause and said our first floor toilet had to be replaced. So we did that. Issue came back 3 months later. Got them to come back out. They charged us again for the same process, only this time the technician uncapped the main sewage line in our basement and saw that our septic pipe was sheared. I didn't get a convincing answer as to why the first technician didn't uncap the sewage line to properly diagnose the issue. They also re-installed the toilet improperly, so I hired a plumber to fix the issue. I called to complain about their negligence and bad workmanship, they owned up to none of their missteps. We just moved out here into a home with a tub that would not let one drop of water through. My husband tried a couple of snakes and even tried plunging it, but nothing worked. Patrick came in and quickly assessed the fact that there was likely a drum trap that didn't allow snakes to reach the problem. He used his air tool a handful of times and cleared the clog. He even gave me some tips on how to do this DIY with a better plunger in the future which was very nice. Also, he took $20 off for being a shorter job than he anticipated. Nice surprise!
