I tried them originally through their introductory furnace inspection. They came out and inspected…read morethe furnace, and said the furnace was fine but our thermostat was broken and they'd replace it for $300. I told them I would do it myself, and reinstalled the original thermostat, which worked fine. 2 months later (in December) the furnace stopped. I called them, they said they would try to get here that day. We waited all day with no response. They came the day after and said they needed to order a part, but could not tell us when it would arrive. Into the weekend, after 2 full days without heat, they said to get heat on the weekend would cost $1200, or $700 if we waited until Monday or Tuesday. We chucked them and called another company. That company said this was a common problem and should have been caught in the inspection. They could come on the weekend to do it for $1000, or do it on Monday for $500. I shouldn't have called back after the thermostat issue, but I sure won't call again, and recommend anyone else also look elsewhere

One, as soon as they showed up they began acting like they didn't want the work. They balked at the fact that I live in a condo within a 3-unit HOA that I would need to coordinate with, and argued with me about the process of gaining their approval (while the numerous contractors we jointly hired for our renos were walking around.) This is 99% of plumbing jobs in Somerville. If it's that much of a problem, don't bother coming in the first place to charge me $77. Second, the estimate price: astronomical. Twice as much as the most expensive quotes I have gotten for this job. Five figures. If you are a very rich owner of a single-family home, Vaughan might be an option - the ratings here say they are talented plumbers. Otherwise, save yourself the money, hassle, and headache.
