I was most surprised by the speed of the service. Most acai bowls take 5-10 minutes to assemble, but mine was concocted in less than five minutes. Granted, I was the only customer at 9 am on a Monday, but the assembly process still needed to follow the laws of physics.

The employee helping me was super accommodating and I was very appreciative of the options and recommendations she gave me. They are located at the Los Altos Shopping Center. Plenty of parking at the front. Just an fyi there is also some parking on the other side of Trader Joe's. I didn't know this at first, but Pur Bowls share the same biz space as Nguyen's Kitchen. Two in one! Cool!! Exterior has a couple tables and some chairs. Interior has a bit more seating. Simple decor with bright lights. You'll have to walk straight in and right to order. I was greeted immediately with a smile and nice welcome upon entry. Thank you young lady! They have their house-created favorites such as Amazon, Cacao, Mango Chamoy, Dragon, Green Goodness, Island, Tropical, and Very Berry Bowls or you may build your own (BYO) acai or fruit bowl. BYO works like this... you choose a size (12 oz $11, 16 oz $13, 24 oz $15 (this is a steal!), select up to two bases (acai, pitaya, matcha, coconut, cacao, and selective fruits), then fill the bowl with the toppings you want. You pay for the size you want, not for each topping that fits inside the bowl. Bases are made without cane sugar and granolas are certified gluten free. I went with the BYO 16 oz option. I was tempted to get the 24 oz for an extra $2, but I didn't. Now that I think back, I should have gone BIG. I know better next time. Anyway, got the coconut and mango bases plus a whole lot of toppings that filled the bowl to the top. It was so refreshingly good and delicious. I was in the area and wanted to stop by 2nd and PCH to see how things changed since the last time I was there. I was originally planning to go to the Traffic Circle location, but suddenly remembered there was this location on the other side of PCH. I'm a part of Nekter's rewards program, and I got an email saying that my points would have expired real soon. I had just enough points to redeem a $3 small smoothie. The small smoothie is 16 oz, and if I wanted to get it for free, I would have had to spend just as many dollars plus twice as many cents to do so. I'm not going to do that just for $3 savings, so I chose to get my $3 smoothie here. When I arrived on Friday after lunch, there were a couple of girls in line, who were having quite the conversation with the cashier. Luckily, I didn't have to wait that long, and it did give me additional time to decide which smoothie I wanted. When it was my turn to order, the cashier greeted me, and I asked if there was any smoothie that I couldn't get using my reward. She simply mentioned that as long as it was offered in the "Small" size, it would work. I asked about Coffee Kickstart since it was early afternoon, a time when I start to feel drowsy and need that extra kick of caffeine to get me through the day. At first, the cashier said she'd only recommend it for the flavor, and then I was trying to look for other options that would give me that boost I needed. She eventually said that the Coffee Kickstart would be a good choice for that, and so I chose the Coffee Kickstart. Understandably, they did not have the Aloha Smoothie on their menu, but I'm sure if I asked, they would have been as confused as you are if you are still reading this review. She then asked me if I wanted whey or pea protein. Whey is a dairy base, but pea is vegan. As much as I love saying "no way!", I had to say "yes way" to whey lol. It took a few minutes for her to prepare my drink with a glove in one hand, but not the other. After I got my drink, I grabbed a straw from the pickup counter and headed back to my car. While the Coffee Kickstart did give me that boost to get me through the rest of that afternoon, I was disappointed that it didn't have the consistency of a smoothie until I reached the bottom half of the cup. The first half was pretty watered down, and it felt like I was drinking a regular iced coffee. However, it tasted more like a smoothie afterwards, but too little too late I guess. I had just finished the smoothie by the time I got back home. Was the smoothie bad? No, but it's not something I would get again, even if I were looking for that extra caffeine kick. I probably should have gone with the Health Nut or the PB Mocha instead, but even so, with how watered down my drinks have been from here, who knows how watery those other protein smoothies would be? My experience here was definitely better than 1 star, so I'll give 1 more star to my original rating, but that's it, unfortunately. There are a lot of ice cream flavors, with certain ones almost empty, while others not even touched (so was curious how long ice cream is held before a new batch is made). There isn't much signage around either, so difficult to know what the prices are, and know all the flavors available. So many questions at the time...not so much now...plenty of other Michoacana's in my area.

They had it packed with a variety of flavors. Mango with Chamoy, watermelon, bubble gum flavor, pineapple, cookies, and cream, strawberry, walnuts & cream, etc. During this heat it was very refreshing. I happen to be the employee in the office handing them out for an entire shift and it was by far the easiest shift I had this year. Everyone was happy, and this small chain was kind enough to lend the cart over night. It was a definitely a nice treat, and we are grateful they accepted to cater the event.

Before leaving, I specifically asked the employee to confirm that everything was included in the order. She assured me there were three bags and that everything was there. When I arrived at my meeting, I discovered that three custom bowls were missing. For an order of this size and value, this level of carelessness is unacceptable. I reached out to Blue Bowl and gave them the opportunity to make this right, but they refused to rectify the mistake. Poor customer service is one thing, but failing to take responsibility after being given the chance to resolve the issue is even more disappointing. I expected much better from a business that charges premium prices. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I can't recommend Blue Bowl.
