Best açaí ever. I have been eating the açaí bowls here for a while now and refuse to get bowls from anywhere else!! So many options to choose from and they're all very tasty. The owner is very kind too and always a pleasure to see. Highly recommend.

Delicious acai bowl and the price is great for unlimited toppings. The fruit was fresh and the man working there was so friendly and kind.

Don't let any bad review FOOL YOU, me and my partner pull up to see Zook with our pup every week. Why? Because he's the nicest guy, he is so upfront and apologetic about his inventory. And I'm sorry, $7 for an açaí bowl by the beach? Don't be grumpy about it! He comes with the energy. He has like 6 different açaí flavors, my bowl is always spilling over. If you want a dope ass on your morning walk, please find Zook.

This review has actually been long overdue. I've been ordering from S&W even before they opened…read moretheir brick and mortar. Their bread and pastries are always good quality and very nostalgic. Even though I'm not a Filipino, the flavor of their goodies are very similar to where I'm from. I think I might have tried (almost) all stuff they have in store. Some of my favorites are bibingkas (never go wrong with this), any weekend special donuts (ube or cream "cheese" filled donuts), ube cheez pandesal and cakes. I also like their pop tarts but they usually get sold out pretty fast. Their staff are always nice and personable. Check their instagram for any special items or any other updates (such as if they're sold out fast, or if there's any discount or if there's a long line). I'd suggest to eat their bread items on the day of. The other non-bread stuff are still good even after a few days. Typically weekends are busier, especially due to their weekend specials that are hard to miss!

I learned about this thru my aunt and sis and they convinced me to go there and get some goodies…read moresince it's only 6 mins from my house. I got there at 8:30 and I was #3 in line. When it was my turn to order , they were already out of Spanish bread. I was left with the bibingka , and coconut , black sesame and pandas swisher buns. Overall they're just MEH!! I don't understand what's the hype about? The goodies were al dry and not fluffy. I have had better baked goods that were home made and more flavorful. I don't think I will be back. Other Filipino bakeries are way better and home made stuff are even better. TRUST.

My friends and I had a Christmas tamale potluck and I got my bunch at Olmeca because they were one…read moreof the ones featured in Eater. I ordered the green pork and the birriria ones. We tasted each of tamales That everyone bought and we all voted for the 7 dollar each tamale! ( 5 dollars would of been more the price point I would expect for upscale tamales when you get get some for 2 bucks)As pricey as they were for tamales, it was the perfect bite with the masa and meat combination. I don't like when lots of masa and barely any stuffing. These tamales were made very well, masa was moist and the insides were well season. Super tasty! Wish it was spicier but I like my food spicy, just a preference. A must try if you have the money to splurge

Found Olmeca on several best tamales of LA lists (e.g., Thrillist, Eater LA) - it's a pop-up (IG…read more@olmeca.__. I pre-ordered some tamales and picked them up at Holy Grounds in El Sereno. The tamales were 6 for $40 ($7 for one) with a choice of three kinds. I wish the mole ones were offered but I'll have to get them another time. Duck mole tamales! The tamales were moist and soft (but not mushy). The layer of masa was thin and there was plenty of well-seasoned meat. The meat wasn't dry either. And the tamales came with various toppings (cheese, salsa, crema). You could tell that the tamales were made with love. They're also free of pork lard. The woman behind the pop-up, Yunia Fumes Mata, works at Bestia, one of the best restaurants in LA.
