Husband and I both ate pulled pork sandwiches and an order of fried green tomatoes. The food came out hot, fresh with an order of fries. It was so large that one could have been enough to share. I visited this place for the first time today. I originally went there for the Tuesday special. Unfortunately, it was sold out :( I had to get another choice... I chose rib tips and they where ok but missing a certain type of tenderness that I was anticipating. The okra was awesome. The jalapeño and cheddar cornbread was cold... I am not sure that it was supposed to be that way. The sauce was spicy and sweet. I gave it three star because I am very much inclined to go back just to give it another go because the smell, the seasonings, and those wonderful looking cakes where amazing. I am for sure I will go back just for the three layered strawberry cake. Update: I have gone back I am going to stick with the 3 stars. I had the rib tips again and they where a little more tender. The mac and cheese was flavorful. The greens where not bad. I have also tried the jerk wings on another visit. They where tasty and a good size. I am still open to trying more things. Update: 3.5 star now. Basically due to the great ideas the chef puts together. I finally had a piece of the strawberry cake. I was disappointed with the size of the piece and the cake could have been more fluffier... I think if I had not paid neatly $5 for a slice of cake I would have been more ok with what I got. Met a friend here for lunch after having had this place bookmarked for a while. I'm six months pregnant and had a crazy craving for some soul food. I had the turkey tips, mac&cheese, fried okra, and jalapeño corn bread. Everything was delicious! The atmosphere was very comfortable. My friend and I ended up staying for two hours chatting and enjoying our food. The staff is so friendly and only add to the relaxed feel of the restaurant. I ended up ordering a plate to-go for my husband. He got ribs, greens, mac&cheese, and the jalapeño cornbread. He didn't even have a chance to sit down, he loved everything so much that he ate it right out of the container at the counter. Amazing find!! We live in Grapevine and were looking for a unique bbq place to visit today. No chains allowed! This family owned place is full of love and hospitality. The atmosphere is homey and friendly. They tried to warn us on the portions but it was too late. We were hungry and wanted leftovers for days. I had the large rib tips, sausage and Mac & cheese. My fiance had rib tips, hot links, Mac & cheese, and slaw. Now...the best way to love is with sharing the gift of good food made with love. Every bite was love, love, love!! I was really craving some jerk wings and decided to try this place out since there are so many good reviews on this place. I'm so glad I did! I ordered a jerk wing plate which came with 4 good sized wings and two sides. I ordered some mac and fried okra and because I was being a glutton, an order of the jalapeño cornbread too. My favorites of the meal were actually the okra and cornbread. Both were some of the best I've had and I actually inhaled the cornbread on my drive home smh. The jerk wing sauce was amazing. I wish the wings were a lil juicier though (there were some hard pieces when chewing it), but if I'm being honest wings aren't really my fav part of the chicken. I could put that sauce on anything tho! And finally we get to the mac. It isn't traditional baked mac like you would find at most soul food places, but I still enjoyed it and would order again. Texas BBQ meets soul food! What match made in Yelp heaven! Rosako's is conveniently located off of highway 121/183 in the midst of the mid cities. Plenty of parking available but get there early because like all BBQ places, they'll run out of the good stuff before close. Everyone working here was so pleasant and warm. We were immediately greeted and our order was taken right away. The only down side to the menu is the plates only come with fries. If you want a different side or an additional side, you'd have to upsize your order. It's worth it because the sides are delicious! I subbed my fries for macaroni and yams. The Mac and cheese was soooo ooey gooey and rich and the yams were drenched with sugar. Just like I like them. Surprisingly, I almost ate all of my boyfriend's fries because they were not your average fries! You get a good amount of food for a moderately reasonable price. Heads up, they don't have any chicken or full ribs. You can order "rib tips" or "turkey tips" which are chopped smoked bits of turkey breast. I throughly enjoyed those! Restaurant and restrooms could've been cleaner. There was grease all over the floor and the trash cans seemed to be ignored. We sat outside on the patio for a better experience. My friend and I visited Rosako's this past Saturday, after I found it on Yelp! Its a cute little Soul Food restaurant, located in Bedford. After, looking at the menu, I decided on the jerk chicken wings, fries and macaroni and cheese & some purple House Party kool-aid! My friend decided on turkey tips, pulled pork, green beans and yams! And she had the banana pudding, that they put together when you order it! My chicken was very good, it was spicy and I appreciate spicy, I just don't love when the spice almost overpower the meat. That almost happened. But it was good! The macaroni and cheese was good, you could tell, it was homemade. My friend tried, the turkey tips, not knowing what part of the turkey they came from, but the look on her face while she ate them. . .PRICELESS I appreciated Rosako's bc while we were eating, the owners came & sat down with us, he advised he had been opened since August. I love visiting non-chain restaurants, where they come out and talk to you, it makes me think my dollars are appreciated! Rosako's was a pleasant experience, old school R&B music playing in the background, is a lovely touch. Aside from the fact the food was good, Rosako's has a Veterans Pay It Forward program, which I thought was fabulous, my friend being a Veteran, especially appreciated it and made a donation, so that a fellow Veteran, down on there luck, would hv the opportunity to enjoy a meal! The only reason I took off a star was bc of the cashier's lack of knowledge about the Pay it Forward program and it caused confusion. Local, affordable, well done, soul food. I've been eating at Rosako's soul food restaurant since it opened up when I was in high school. Soul food isn't something you really come across in my region of DFW (especially since Buttons closed in FW), so Rosako's is a budding cultural jewel. It's food is very genuine as it comes in a styrofoam to-go container with disposable plastic ware, but my tastebuds don't care about presentation. The ribs, turkey tips, mac & cheese, and coleslaw are all well seasoned, well prepared, and individualistic in their flavor. I know this because as you enter you see the face of the chef and owner on the sign, You see his face over the shoulder of the cashier as you order your food, and a third time when he brings you your food and thanks you for coming in. A meal here can cost upward of $12 which, if you've never had soul food, is a good price. read more

We wanted the family style dinner (one meat, two sides, cornbread rolls-- enough food to share between 2-3 people), but weren't sure which meat to choose. We asked (the owner? The sign looks totally like this guy) the chef about what he recommended and he was short with us and told us to get the two meat platter if we can't decide and huffed off. Um, okaaay. The mac 'n cheese... well, ok, for soul food mac 'n cheese oughta be a bygone staple. Like, perfect. This stuff was coagulated. We liked the jalapeno cornbread though. I personally liked the food. I will just get watermelon salad or something instead of their mac 'n cheese, which disappoints me personally because mac 'n cheese is my favorite food. This review is solely based on the service NOT the food! I left church and decided to look up somewhere to eat. I found this place and judging from all the great reviews I thought this would be a great place to try. I was definitely wrong. I made it there around 12:45pm on a Sunday. When we arrived there was a line and I thought it would be due to the reviews. When I made it towards the front I realized the line was so long and moving slow because there was only one cash register. Not only was there one cash register, the cashier was also taking to go orders over the phone so she would stop taking orders from the people waiting in line to use the cash register to take the order over the phone. Smh. When we finally made it to the front of the line around 1:15pm I order the fried green tomatoes and the cashier said it would be another 30 minutes which I wasn't going to wait for since I already waited so long. So I order the candied yams which she said would be another 30 minutes. So after that I tried ordering a turkey sandwich which they were out of. I've never seen anything like that in my life. If you're out of something you should let people know before they wait in line forever. You could've yelled that out because the place isn't big. I'm sure the food is good but I'll never know because I will never visit that establishment again. They need a better system as it pertains to the ordering process. read more

Went to Rosako's today for lunch my first visit, definitely won't be my last. The food itself is simply incredible fresh great flavor more than enough per serving. Atmosphere of the restaurant is fun and soothing great music. The place was slow enough during our visit (late late lunch) that Rosako had time to come out and visit. Very Very warm and inviting personality great conversationist and very proud of his business. In our group we had the hot links and ribs, turkey sandwich, and jerked chicken. No one was disappointed. The sides were Mac and cheese, and baked beans. They were good but my wife's yams were to die for. The yams were tender and full of flavor, you can't go wrong with thes. The hot links and rib tips were amazing, but I had plenty to take home for dinner. The portions were huge and large enough to share or take home. The dessert does not need to be skipped. This place used to be wonderful. The quality has gone down over the years and now its just not worth it. The greens taste like they come from a can now, the hot links I had a few years ago are definitely not the same, not sure what happened and the jalapeño corn bread has always been good but for the past year the oven has been broken, so no corn bread. The owner is a great, friendly person...customer service has always been good, but the food has definitely fallen from grace. 3 stars for the customer service. This place was stellar! We got the rib tips & hot links (a massive amount of perfectly smoked meat), the Thanksgiving meal w mac n cheese (I swear one of the best meals in the whole city), and jerk chicken special. Just wow!! We were expecting to enjoy it, but can't express how much we did. The great food was enhanced by the pleasant woman working the register who seemed to really enjoy introducing us to the Rosako experience. They were out of peach cobbler and the corn bread muffins :( I mainly went because of the peach cobbler so I was pretty bummed that they were out. They were out of a lot of stuff actually. This is a black owned business who have received a lot of support so I am definitely cutting them a bunch of slack due to being sold out of a lot of items. About my food - Jerk chicken wings (will recommend getting the sauce on the side) I love the smokey flavor the wing possessed. Wasn't a big fan of the jerk sauce at all. Being a Jamaican food lover the sauce didn't nearly resemble a jerk taste. It had a pineapple-y citrus-y flavor to it. Besides that I feel that the sauce would be amazing. Yams - Were wayyy too sweet, also looked like they came out of a can. Seemed like they emptied the can in a pot and added extra sugar & brown sugar. I have a big sweet tooth so to say something is too sweet, is rare. Fried okra - BOMB!!! They were so delicious! Overall, food was super fresh and good! Was looking for a good BBQ place near Bedford since I had to drive down from Mckinney to try out the new Turning Point Brewery. More on that Later. This soul food restaurant fit the bill well. I had their turkey tips, rib tips, greens, and Mac & cheese. Mac & Cheese as thick and creamy with the right shells. Greens had a sweet, spice flavor. My guess is chili flake, sugar and or cinnamon. Either way, they were delicious. Rib tips had nice seasoning and good texture. Not chewy or tough. The turkey tips were the only part I would want to try a 2nd time to judge. They said they were one of their best sellers. They were good, but nothing special compared to the other items I had. Mostly a healthy addition. Once you put their BBQ sauce on them, they did get better. Next time I will try their jalapeño corn bread, yams, and cake. I'd highly recommend this restaurant. read more
