    Steak Wet Burrito
    Zan L.

Visiting Lake Arrowhead for the long three day weekend and given its popularity we plan to try LouEddie's pizza next-door for dinner. When we arrived, we were told it would be a two hour wait so obviously we decided to head next-door to Rosalva 's. It's important to know that it's directly off the highway so be wary when pulling in or out of the parking. There are enough spaces for about a dozen cars, but if those spaces are full, you may have to choose another option. Inside is fairly small, but they have a large outdoor patio that is popular during the summer and warmer months. Service was very fast and the menu itself is very large. For this visit, I decided to try the Steak Wet Burrito and enjoyed it. It was a large sized portion and overall it was pretty good. It's not quite as great as you get down at sea level, but given the location I would say it's one of the best options in Lake Arrowhead for Mexican food. I would stop in again next time I am visiting and would recommend to any fan of Mexican cuisine.

Big portions, delicious home made salsas, and friendly staff. Indoor and outdoor space and their patio is dog friendly. Their frozen margaritas are perfectly blended and the watermelon flavor was unique and refreshing. Easy parking and it's affordable (less than $50) for 2 people with drinks.

I can't believe we have never ventured in here since my family's cabin purchase twenty some years ago! The location is directly off of highway 18, so be careful when pulling in or out. There are plenty of places to sit outside, 2 levels, as well as some inside. The menu has many options as well. We opted for the "daily specials", one plate of 2 beef tacos and one plate of 2 enchiladas, one beef and one cheese both plates $14.99. The choices were chicken, beef or cheese. While waiting for our food, we snacked on the complimentary chips and salsa; both rather bland. Some people must love it because on the front of the menu it stated each table is alloted two servings of salsa. There will be a charge after two. Our food came out fairly quickly and looked good. The beef taco wasn't shredded, more like cubed meat. Different and good. I had a bite of each of my husbands enchiladas for one of my tacos. Again, the cubed beef. The mexican rice had good flavor, the beans just okay. When the bill came, one of the plates was $15.99, instead of $14.99 as stated on the menu. I inquired and was told they have to upcharge because both the enchiladas were not the same. When ordering, great customer service would entail having declared the discrepancy to the patron. That did not happen. For our first time visiting, we enjoyed the food, for the most part. There are at least three Mexican food places within a five minute drive. Would I choose this one? Verdict still out. By the way, they do not have any Happy Hour regardless of what you may find on Google or Yelp.

Rosalva's Mexican Food is an absolute gem in Skyforest. Beautiful views. The food is incredibly authentic--fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Every bite was excellent. The service was outstanding: friendly, attentive, and welcoming from start to finish. And the Cadillac margaritas? Bomb. Easily some of the best I've had--perfectly balanced and dangerously good. This place hits on all cylinders. Can't wait to come back!

Rosalvas never disappoints. Their food is great and the service is accommodating. I usually order to go and always have a pleasant experience with my pick up orders. I ordered the carne asada nachos and red enchilada plate both were delicious including the chips and salsa that come with the meal. The chips are fresh and their salsa is really good, the rice and beans are delicious too. This is my 2nd updated review. I devoured most of the plate before I took the picture.

Note: I was so hungry I forgot to take a picture of our food. Take that as a sign...it was good. We got there early, so the restaurant was just starting to get busy for breakfast. The smells of the kitchen really hit the appetite. Very small dining area, but warm and cozy. Decor was classically Mexicano. The menu was classic. They do have adult beverages if you are dining a little later in the day, but for me - I decided on a Mexican coke to go with my meal. I had the Chorizzo con Juevo plate and my wife had the Machaca plate. Both meals were delicious and filling. The beef in the Machaca was well seasoned. The refried beans were not your canned refried beans, or at least they did not taste like it. Maybe I was that hungry. The surprise was the salsa. Homemade and delicious. They must have a lot of people asking for it as they do sell it to go. If your on your way up to Arrowhead or Big bear, this little gem is right on the highway where you decide to go left to Arrowhead or straight to Big Bear. If you're hungry it is worth the stop. Hasta Luego!

Great Mexican food with quick service! Brother asked me to pick a restaurant for us to grab dinner and I decided to give Rosalva's a try since I've never been before. We ordered takeout; the guy on the phone was nice and attentive as my brother is picky and the employee made sure my brothers order was correct! We showed up about 15-20 minutes later and the food was ready by then! The restaurant is cute in the Skyforest location, the only thing I don't like is the parking lot, it's a pain especially if you have a low car. We both got asada fries which were great! Seasoned to perfection and they got both our special requests correct!

Walking in yesterday, it was such a good-vibe, welcoming place. There was sunshine coming through the large windows and color all around. Our waitress was warm and welcoming as well as on top of our dining needs, even as it got busier. We 4, two of us being vegetarians, each found something delicious to enjoy. I got the BAT Omelette, which was generous with cheese, avocado, bacon, and as a delightful switch up, cherry and grape tomatoes. The presentation was a feast for the eyes, with its dainty and colorful flower petals on top. In fact, all dishes were beautifully presented. I ordered fruit instead of potatoes, which was enough to share. My mom found her bagel and lox delectable and a large enough portion to take 1/2 home. Friends found vegetarian enjoyment in the Goat omelette and the breakfast sammie. They were both well pleased with bellies full. All of us were happy brunchers ! As we dined, the place welcomed a steady stream of guests, both inside and out, which is furry best friend welcoming. So, on Sundays, come early. We love how theres a lot of paintings from local artists for sale as the decor. Small kitchen so they warned that the wait times are long for food. It was true. There was a lot of empty tables on a Friday night. Lots of parking in a newly paved parking lot. We ordered the veggie burger, strawberry salad, fried pickles, and hummus plate. There was a lot of leftovers as our eyes ate more than our stomachs. First the whipped hummus was divine. I liked all the crunchy veggies and pita bread but the juxtaposition of the mushy, wet dolmas felt strange. The hummus to veggie ratio was off. We had a few veggies left and wished for more hummus. We found it amusing that the fried pickles were more like pickle fries. The exterior tasted of onion rings. Absolutely would order again. Such a fun way to eat pickles! We love the strawberry salad. Goat cheese and strawberries was a match made in heaven. I do think the vinegarette was overpoweringly acidic. I wonder if more sweetness could balance it out. I also thought something bigger than pepitas like candied pecans or walnuts could offer a better crunch to the salad. We did not like the veggie burger at all. The patty should be more firm and structurely together but the mushroom mix was so soggy and mushy and fell apart easily. I wonder if adding a binding agent or flour or something or even deep fry it with a bread crust could make the patty more appealing. We would absolutely come back. Maybe not for the mushroom Patty.

For the mountain, it's solid, the bartenders are friendly, the drinks are good, and the food is decent. That said, my main concern is with the atmosphere. It's... fine. And that's exactly the problem. As most of us know, there's a serious lack of entertainment options up here, especially for people under 60. Despite the older demographic, there's still a sizable group of younger, creative, and social folks looking for something to do. Sure, you could be satisfied with a '70s rock cover band for the 100th time in the village, but if not, then Dogwood has the potential to be the go-to spot if it just puts in a bit more effort. The last event listed on your website was in 2019. The last Instagram post was over two months ago, and the one before that was for New Year's Eve. With that kind of minimal effort in promoting and programming, it's no surprise the vibe is lacking. If Dogwood committed even 50% effort to curating consistent experiences and letting people know about them, I believe it could be one of the best spots on the mountain.
