First time trying Tapia's Red Cabin. The burger is massive two patties and delicious. The hot wings are a great value, crisp and meaty, nice tangy buffalo sauce. The crispy taco is phenomenal, absolutely stuffed to the brim with meat, crunchy, tasty cheese, fresh lettuce and tomatoes. Excellent hot sauce for the tacos as well, flavorful and spicy. The cheese enchilada is also great. Will definitely be back to try more items and definitely getting the wings again, tacos too! read more

Came at the recommendation of a friend who lives in the area and I'm glad I stopped in! Red Cabin is a cute and spacious spot with a homey welcoming environment. I ordered to go and my order was ready within 10 minutes. I can never resist a country fried steak so I opted for that with hash browns and poached eggs, as well as a single pancake as I was told that is a must try. The pancake was an absolute 10/10 I would gladly come back for a stack of those! The country fried steak was tasty, nice gravy, and the hash browns were solid, overall those two components were pretty standard, but still worth it. I was disappointed in my eggs. The beauty of a poached egg is that glorious runny yolk and mine were completely cooked. Other than that I loved the food and will definitely be back! read more

This place is a local gem! Not only were the fried zucchini on point: the perfect size & perfectly fried... the Mexican food is bomb! I've been here several times before & would typically get burgers... which are good too, but the rice, beans, enchilada & chili relleno sauces, all made from scratch were super flavorful & authentic. We stopped by for a cup of coffee. It has a café/bakery style design. There are seating and tables inside. They have nice pies. Coffee was just OK, nothing spectacular. But it was plenty of coffee for the price we paid. There is parking in front of the store. We did not try the food. Customer service was good. Outside and interior design looked good. read more

You want gourmet fancy this ain't the place. They're downright home style diner food and if it's what you're craving it's gonna hit the spot. Good strong coffee, tuna melt was great (sorry for the after pic) and French toast deluxe combo was great. Give em a shot when in the running springs area open from 7am to 8pm we got here at 1 am and was still able to order breakfast! Sadly, this place is not good! There are few places to eat in our local mountain town, and fewer of quality food. This place is not good or of quality. I ordered the chicken and veggies and the chicken was as thin as cardboard and the veggies clearly came out of a can or bagged. My neighbor ordered the pork chop and they were virtually identical. Along with my wet burrito and my husband's breakfast skillet, I ordered one pancake. It was not as fluffy, large and warm as I would have liked it and the syrup was not as sweet as I prefer but the two entrees were perfect! Had a late lunch with friends. We ordered breakfast. The children ordered burgers and shakes. Everything came out great. Good to have another breakfast spot in town. I judge breakfast-style restaurants by how they cook their eggs. If I order them over medium, I expect over medium. Most restaurants undercook, and I get slimy eggs. Not here. Cooked to over medium perfection. Pancakes are usually pancakes, no matter where you go. But these were better. Hash Browns crispy, but not overcooked. French Toast was delicious, and might become my go-to breakfast item, pending the upcoming breakfast burrito test. Service was friendly and thorough, although it was a slow morning. The decor still has a lot of the old Chinese restaurant vibe, with ornate lighting fixtures and some small architectural details, which kind of throws me off of the cozy Red Cabin theme. I'm assuming that will be replaced over time and they can find a cohesive theme. My next visit will be the real test; their breakfast burritos. If they can pull off perfect over medium eggs AND a bomb breakfast burrito, then it's on. I'll come back and update to a five star review. read more

I am truly thrilled to have this great restaurant up here in the San Bernardino Mountains. It is typical American coffee shop/diner fare (with Mexican items available for breakfast, too) but excellently prepared. The interior is fitting of the setting yet not cluttered. Everything is clean. The greeting and service were quick and friendly. The waitress was glad to answer our questions about the menu and everything in the baked goods case. There are several such restaurants on the western side of the San Bernardino Mountains but this has immediately become one of the two best. read more

We just enjoyed an EXCELLENT lunch of Western BBQ Burger for my husband and Chile Relleno for me!! The burger was huge with 2 beef patties. My husband will get 2 meals out of it!! And I got the #1 plate of 2 Chile Rellenos, which I will savor for 3-4 meals!! Probably the most yummylicious Chili Relleno I've ever had!! Maria was our terrific server; kind, friendly & efficient!! We luv supporting our local businesses and are blessed to have the Tapia family in our community!! We will definitely be back!!!! Went to breakfast a few weeks ago, and it was good. I haven't been able to try any other menu items because this place is ALWAYS closed or about to close when I get home. Closing at 6 and being closed on Sundays really hurts the business and does not please the locals. Being a local and getting home at 5 pm, I never seem to make it there in time. When I get there before closing time at 6, there is no time to eat or any time to order a Togo before they close. I've even driven up a few times before 6 to find the lights off. Having this place closed on Sundays, it loses a ton of opportunities to make money off people leaving the hill after spending a weekend on the mountain. This place would get more business with longer hours and being closed on a non weekend. read more

A new place in a small town, had to try it out. Gave them 2 chances & they failed miserably both times. On my first visit I decided to try the waffle combo with 2 sausages. The waffle was runny, how in the world do you undercook a waffle? Strike 1. The 2 sausages were bad in both taste & quality, tasted like something from a dollar store. Strike 2. My eggs were runny with clear whites on top, a complete fail here too. Strike 3. Bonus strike: the food took FOREVER to come out even though it wasn't unreasonably busy. I never give a 1 star without hitting a place twice so I forced myself to head back in on a different day to try lunch. I picked the Bacon cheeseburger with fries. I know what you're thinking "There's no way they could mess this up right? " Well guess again bucko, this too was atrocious. The burger itself was overdone & dry, and a very thin small patty at that. Strike 1. The bacon? They forgot the bacon. Yeah, you read that right, no bacon on my bacon cheeseburger. Strike 2. The french fries were very subpar, soggy and cold. The portion of the fries is at least half of what all the other places here give you too. Strike 3. And again, they weren't terribly busy, 3 other groups of people eating. In total that's 6 strikes in two visits. It's really a shame as I had high hopes, I don't expect this place to last long so here's hoping the next place gets it right. read more

Asked about steamed vegetables and was told it was just squash and I love squash, but it was broccoli- The A-1 sauce had white dripping and grease around it we could not use it- soup was cold and chicken in soup was rubbery. I didn't mind the ambiance, but the server was not friendly and didn't refill water or asked if we needed anything. We left the food paid and left. Wasted time- but now we know. read more
