I have been going to Dr Rosalyn Burke for over 15 years. She is the most caring person i know. She is polite and makes you feel comfortable. She is very professional and extremly knowlegable. I was new to the area and in need of an orthodontist for my son. Not only was I a "walk-in" but the day I chose to visit was a regular non-patient day, which I was unaware. When I tried to open the front door it was locked. A staff member could see me, and immediately came over. I could tell I might have be intruding on a day the practice might be closed and when she opened the door I quickly told her I could come back another day. The customer care and service I began to recieve was exemplary. She and her co-worker went the extra mile. Upon my explaining my situation she let me know that although Burke Dental doesn't offer orthodontics, she could offer some referrals. I mentioned concern regarding Insurance and not only did they refer orthodontists in the area, they helped me understand my insurance more clearly. All the while through their professionalism I was grateful and so impressed. My son had a one of my blank checks, and I got stuck paying the entire amount, even for the unauthorized work. They're dishonest people, and I could never recommend them. My husband had a lot of pretty major work to be done several years back, and the dentist he'd had for 15+ years had just retired. He was very nervous about picking a new dentist, so we did a lot of research and decided to give Rosalyn Burke a try. My husband came back from his first few appointment telling me this dentist was SUPER COOL, and he was very impressed. LOL. I thought he was probably overreacting to a personality he happened to like, and that time would tell about the quality of work done. He continued to report the same over the first year or so, during which he had regular appointments (at least monthly, I would say) for cleanings, fillings, crowns, the works. Everything he came home with looked so natural; I was impressed. I finally went in myself for some work and had to laugh at myself when I came home and reported to him that he was right, she IS super cool! What is "super cool" about Dr. Burke is that she is very knowledgeable on the latest dental technology, she has a very down to earth personality, and I feel like she tells me how it REALLY is. Due to my commute and other time management issues, I had to go to a dentist in San Francisco for about a year just for my cleanings. That dentist insisted on xrays and told me a few things that needed to be attended to right away. In addition, the cleanings I suffered at this other place were SO painful (and expensive, compared to Burke!). I eventually made it back to Burke's office and asked about the items the other dentist recommended I have done. She looked closely at everything and explained to me the level of seriousness of each item, and that some items did not need to be done AT ALL. In addition, after returning to her office, I had a MUCH bigger appreciation for the grace and delicacy with which she and her hygienists perform their work. No pain, and that is saying a lot for someone like me who has always pretty much been able to feel things even after getting all the shots I can possibly get to numb the area. (Oh, and the other office I went to ended up being a billing nightmare that I spent about three months clearing up; in the 9+ years I have gone to Burke's office, I've never even seen or dealt with billing issues. They seem to have that figured out better than most medical and dental offices, thank goodness.) The best thing is that... with all the work my husband had to have done, I was sure he'd be going back in regularly for problems with fillings or caps or veneers coming loose or changing colors or needing upgrades, or something. The work he had done was completed about... oh, I'd say 11 years ago.... and he's been back in, yes, but only for xrays, cleanings and an occasional new cavity. He hasn't been back in once, to my knowledge, to fix anything Dr.Burke has done that didn't hold or do the trick it was intended to do. That says a lot to me. I have never had a dentist I liked. Probably because I just cringe at dental work since my teeth are so sensitive. But I am happy to say I do like Dr. Burke, very much. My only fear is that she will end her practice or relocate some day. PLEASE DON'T, Dr. Burke, if you are reading this! :) Oh, and lastly. I have on occasion had to be seen by Rosalyn's brother, Darrell, when I had a time-sensitive issue and she was out of town or on maternity leave or whatnot. I found him to be just as skilled and likeable as Rosalyn. read more
