We tried Rosati's last night for a quick bite after we both worked late. The environment isn't the best; it's bar-forward with a few tables wrapping around the bar. However, you can tell that during the nice-weather season, there is a larger dining space that is an indoor/outdoor convertible patio, and we will definitely check it out when the weather cools down a bit. For just the two of us, we ordered a couple of Pinthouse Electric Jellyfish IPAs, the Antipasto Salad, their Windy City pizza with thin crust, and a couple of cannoli. The salad was OK, but came undressed and was served with the dressing on the side in a little plastic to-go cup with foil peel-top. Thought that was a little strange for a dine-in experience, but it was fine. The pizza was DELICIOUS tho -- the Italian sausage was fantastic, and I've never seen so generous a portion of cheese on a pizza where "extra cheese" was not requested. This pizza was loaded with flavor and perfectly spicy from their Giardiniera topping -- wonderful. The one big disappointment for us was the cannolis. On the website, in pictures on their menu, and in the food item description, the beautiful cannolis set a high expectation of being "dipped into mixed nuts" and on some versions of the menu it actually says "dipped into pistachios", and all of the pictures show a brilliant green topping of crushed pistachios all over the cannolis. This was absolutely NOT the case, and the waiter did not tell us they were out of pistachios/nuts, so we were very disappointed when the cannolis arrived with nothing but mini chocolate chips. That is quite a difference from what is advertised and it was a big let down for us. We will come back for the pizza. read more

Tonight we were craving for succulent Chicago deep dish pizza and Rosati pizza came up on the search. We were so lucky. Our waitress Shawna was so friendly. The owner was super nice. Don't be a deep dish hater! I get it, I love thin crust too. But Chicago style just hits different. I've had Chicago Pizza in Chicago, and Rosati's definitely fills me up. The pizza in the picture is (14", largest) pepperoni Chicago styled pizza for $24.49. The crust is crispy, tomato sauce is flavorful and not too tart, melty cheese, and a right amount of pepperoni. One large can easily fill up 3-4 people. I don't drink but I see that there are a wide verities of alcohol if that's what you are looking for. Nice owner and server. I had driven by Rosati's on my way across town one day last week. I know it's been there as they have a very large sign. It just never registered as an Italian restaurant so when I was fresh in my mind, I decided to order a pizza to go from them Friday night. My husband was kind enough to go and pick it up and he advised it was crazy busy with a long line waiting to be seated to eat in the restaurant and good size line for pick up as well. He did say they were doing a good job of managing it, so the wait time wasn't horrific Ordering online was pretty easy they have the style of app where you can very easily do a half-and-half pizza which we always appreciate because 99% of the time that's what we want. Many pizza places only have certain sizes if you like the thin crust, and of course many don't offer it at all I was really surprised that Rosati's offered thin crust in every size from small to extra large, and the cost of an extra large pizza with three extra toppings. was about $38 but considering we had to complete meals that was absolutely acceptable the pizza was thin crust indeed and well done as per requested nice and crispy on the bottom. It was loaded with toppings. The only thing that was scarce was the sauce we felt we could've done with a little more of that. Regarding the toppings, it was canned mushrooms, which my preferences actually fresh sliced mushrooms but, it is just a preference. The overall flavor of the pizza was good, especially while it was hot . is the pizza cooled off I did feel that the types of cheese used were questionable perhaps a bit of a different blend. I am not sure but I will ask when I go in. As far as the bacon for a topping, it was freshly cooked, regular sliced bacon that had been shot and was plentiful that with the fresh tomatoes was really tasty!!! I'd like to go and eat in person next time to check out the ambience it sounded like a very busy, classically Italian restaurant on a Friday night!! I have probably ordered takeout over twenty times and have always gotten deep dish pizzas and wings. I was initially extremely impressed. Finally a place around Austin that knows what deep dish pizza is supposed to be and their wings were well above average. My last three orders were a noticeable step back. Flavor seemed to be more bland and topping were noticeably fewer. Even the Zeppole the last few times seemed a little off. It was packaged such that the crispy dough got a little moist/soggy. As a lifelong Chicagoan I was surprised and delighted to learn that there was a real Rosati's Pizza in Cedar Park. Rosati's was our go-to when we lived on Chicago's north side. We ordered the 18" thin crust Italian Sausage pizza and it was the great tavern style pizza we grew up with (meh to the folks who don't understand the history and practicality of a small square slice). If we lived closer, we'd be at Rosati's AT LEAST weekly. As it is, it's a 45 minuted one-way drive for us. Still, worth it! The wife, grand daughter and I were in the mood for Italian food today. We remembeed driving by Rosati's and said we need to stop and try them out. We quickly scanned the menu online and decided to try them out. Boy were we happy that we did. We stopped in on a Friday night and I was pleasantly surprised that they were not that busy for a Friday at 7:15 pm. We were greeted by the host at the door and quickly shown a table. The waitress stopped by promptly to take our drink orders before taking our dinner order. Shortly, after she dropped off our drinks, she came to get our order. Madeline, our waitress, was extremely helpful, very courteous and helpful. While we waited for our food, the interior was nothing fancy. A few table inside, an outdoor seating area and a small bar with a few TVs on the wall behind a small bar. It's very quaint and cozy. When the food came, all was very hot and fresh. We had a ravioli dish and a 14" deep dish pizza. It was very fresh and tasty. We loved our experience and the food was wonderful. And Madeline graciously boxed our food to bring home. read more

The food - I continue to be amazed at everything I order there. The deep dish is the top of my list; the beef sammiches and any of the pastas are very close behind. I am an experienced pizzaiolo (about 60 years in the making) my focus is NY and roman thin crust styles. I am a master of NY style grandma pizza) I love super thin flatbread types. So after I moved to Austin area 4 years ago I have been on a mission to find the best and have found some really good NY style pizza (non-neopolitan). My thing is a lot of sauce and light on the cheese with the result being a much more red color finish than yellow which means too much cheese for me. That is why I don't care for Chicago thin style pizza. On the other hand I have always enjoyed chicago deep pizza if/when it is made right. I've had it around the country in places that specialize in it and it has been excellent many times and close to Chicago joints. However, in Austin unfortunately there is ONLY ONE place that makes real chicago deep pizza and that is Rosati's. If you know chicago deep pizza at all you can tell just from the yelp/google photos. Which is why I had to try Rosati's and it did not disappoint. Not the very best I have ever had....but definitely worthy of praise. Anyone in the Austin area who likes and wants chicago deep pizza should not hesitate to try it. I got my favorite with sausage/green pepper/onion. I bought the 14" about 2 years ago, ate half and froze the rest. The slices sat in my super cold freezer for 2 years until I had one for lunch today. I defrosted then reheated at 400 for 10 minutes and it was delicious. As a result thought I would check again to see if anyone else is making a chicago deep pizza worthy of my trying.....nope still only Rosati's. Kudos to the owner.....and thanks for being the only ONE in Austin area (I am in Georgetown so the fact you are in Cedar Park is a plus......I will. be back for another pie after i finish the 2 year old in my freezer!!!). read more

Had a nice dinner here last week! I was super cold but the "outdoor area" was heated and had the sides closed so it was nice. Clean tables, friendly fast service. The dough bites are awesome and half an order was plenty for the 3 of us. Mozzarella sticks were quickly inhaled by the 9 year old, as were the fries. The pizza at Rosati's is a must have for anyone craving a Chicagoland taste. It's conveniently located off Whitestone in Cedar Park. This bar style restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. I made a pick up order online and it was ready within 30 minutes. The Windy City pizza is marvelous with sausage, onion, hot giardiniera and when you add pepperoni to that it delivers a harmonious balance of spicy and savory making it a must try pizza here! We sat on the heated patio for trivia night, and it was a nice experience. Our server was attentive and nice , and the food was pretty good. The inside is small but very cozy, set up more like a bar. They have loads of beers on tap and wine. I tried the Fettuccine Alfredo. The pasta and sauce were good. However, the chicken tasted frozen. The other people at the table got pizza and salads, and both looked amazing! Was thinking about a pizza and a beer for an early dinner and happened upon Rosati's. Opted instead for a bourbon (surprisingly nice selection) and the Cheef, italian beef sandwich with peppers and soaked in au jus. Made my inner Harry Carey cry 'Holy Cow!' Rosati's is a well-known pizzeria chain in the Chicago suburbs. I was happy to see a local branch open up in Cedar Park and decided I wanted to give it a try to see if they held up the standard. I can tell you that they did. Most people know about the famous deep-dish Chicago pizza but there's also a thin crust specialty that is hard to find outside Illinois. Rosati's does it right with a thin, crispy crust that has body to it. It can stand up and provide a solid foundation for the ingredients piled on top, such as Italian sausage, pepperoni and other goodies. The sauce here is nicely spiced, not overwhelming but flavorful that holds the whole pie together. I appreciate that Rosati's does the traditional Chicago cut which slices the pizza into squares instead of wedges. Most of the pizza in Austin is New York-style with a droopy crust that you have to fold together to eat. Chicago pizza stands on its own and you can eat it without said folding. I ordered a carry out pizza here but the interior has a comfortable pub atmosphere so I think I'll be dining in on my next visit. If you're from Chicago and missing that hometown taste, you need to come here. Highly recommended. read more

We have had a few take out pizzas from Rosati's and thoroughly enjoyed them. We zeroed in on "The fabulous four" and love it. It's as good as anything that we had experienced during our years in the Northeast. Since they do have a bar and a dining area as well as an enclosed outdoor area, we decided to dine in recently. Good decision on our part. The staff here is wicked cool and very professional. We enjoyed a few generous glasses of wine and another "Fabulous Four" pizza. Neighborhood pizza spot with some kid the best Chicago style pizza and hearty chopped salads. Rosati's is a corner restaurant and not very much space but the patio is a nice size and the service keeps you coming back. We had the fried dough which came fast and hit, taste like fried ravioli without any filling. Salads were fresh and big with good selection of dressings. I had a lot of people recommending Rosati's when I was looking for restaurants that served slices of pizza at lunch. While the place wasn't bad, things did fall short of expectations in two areas: 1) The 'thin crust' pizza is close to what I've heard called a Midwest 'tavern style pizza'. It's a little denser than what I've had before but probably would be excellent holding in the contents of a deep-dish pizza. Still, it's pretty tasty. 2) Service is iffy. When I arrived 15 minutes after they opened on a Thursday, I was rudely told, "We don't serve slices until 3pm." Funny, the display on the table said they serve an 'Express Lunch'. Perhaps in Chicago they eat lunch at 3pm and dinner at 9. That, or I suspect that they couldn't handle opening on time and so didn't have slices available. It was cold, rainy, I was hungry, and was with company. So I tolerated the rudeness, stayed and ordered a pie, and it was pretty good. Also, everyone's having staffing issues right now. But courtesy doesn't seem like too much to ask, especially when there's only 2-3 people in the entire dining room! Is it an OK place for pizza? Sure, it's fine. Would I come back? No, I wouldn't. There's an awful lot of good pizzerias in this part of Austin to choose from. This place scores a 3 out of 5 on the 'CTJ Scale', as noted below. 5 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Jesus good. Would be OK passing away after finishing a plate here. 4 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Mary good. Would be OK having a nosh here with Mother Mary. 3 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Joseph good.
