Great ambiance, amazing coffee, and banana bread! My go to local coffee shop in Long Beach.

I can only speak for this location but I felt like the overall vibe of the coffee shop was very stand off-ish and I've spoken to other people around the area who felt the same. When I asked for recommendations, I felt like they were giving me short answers so I did not feel welcome at all. On top of already feeling like I've been a burden to them, I thought their coffee was just okay. I really wanted to love it considering the high reviews but I got their sweet latte (regular latte w/ their simple syrup) but felt like the simple syrup kind of ruined the taste of the latte. I can't put my finger on but it just wasn't to my liking. Overall, quite disappointed and ended up going to get a second coffee somewhere else. read more

Wow! One of the best iced lattes I have had in a while! We stopped by here after breakfast since we were just a few miles away. It was a new coffee shop to try out. Despite only visiting here once so far, I thought that I would go ahead and write a review now because unfortunately I am not this far down in Long Beach too often so I won't get to enjoy the amazing latte nearly enough. Definitely get the maple lavender latte even if it sounds weird to you. I love iced lavender lattes and get them very often at a lot of coffee shops. But maple? That sounded too sweet to me. Due to Steven reading that this is by far their most popular drink, I gave it a shot. The lavender is not very strong like a lot of shops. It is much more subtle, but a really nice amount, at least this one was. The maple was not overwhelming at all. Then they add orange zest also. What? What a weird sounding drink. Don't be fooled. It all went together perfectly! At my first drink I thought that I was not going to be a fan. My mind changed very quickly, and I absolutely loved my iced maple lavender latte that came with orange zest. Simply satisfying. The staff there that day were not really talkative. I could barely hear the cashier when we ordered, and we didn't hear that our drinks were ready. Steven just happened to notice. The music at the time we were there was strange and loud, and no one really spoke. The quality of my drink made me not care so much about all of that. The drinks are priced a little higher than a lot of other shops. What is disappointing is that I can't stop by nearly as much as I would like, but I recommend trying them out. read more

Located in the corner of a street and neighborhood - I don't know how parking would work. It's next to a Ralph's so you might be able to find street parking there and walk a little bit. The Rose Park Roasters really feels like a local coffee shop. It had a few outdoor seating tables where people were reading/chatting and a few spots indoors. I got the Miso caramel hot latte with hemp milk. It was pretty good. Actually a little savory and my friend said it was like miso soup. Which definitely tasted more like it once she mentioned it. It felt a little sweet to me as well (as I neared the end of the drink) and I should've asked for less of the caramel. I did like how unique it was. On the menu they have coffee flights (including a latte one) and seasonal drinks. I thought it was tasty, new take on a caramel and I'm glad I was able to try it. read more

I was looking for a coffee shop in Long Beach that wasn't Starbucks and I came across Rose Park. I looked over their menu and ordered an Iced Maple Lavender Latte and let me tell you!! PURE HEAVEN!! it's very refreshing and addicting. The flavors are excellent but the orange zest takes this latte to another level. Also, the customer service here is A1 which is a plus. Ive been here 3 times in the past week and I think I'm now a familiar face lol but the service has always been the same...pleasant, genuine and warm. Came here a couple of weeks ago as they hosted the Ube Oveload (festival-ish) in their patio section. The place is quaint, no frills. Limited drink and pastry menu but Im good with that. Im a no frills kinda a coffee girl. Like regular coffee, room for cream kinda person. Now, with that said. I know you see an ube latte photo below. I but thats because it was the theme of the day. So why not!. Im not too sure how it is during regular business hours but today was especially busy. But the barista's! You gotta hand it to them. They kept the lines moving and orders grooving out the door. My order was in my hand with a quickness. There is a small sitting area to the side where one can study, meeting, girl talk, etc. The shop is surrounded by highrise living. Parking can be a doozie. Rose Park, roasters has become such a staple here in Long Beach. This review isn't about the shop, but about their new"ish" instant coffee packs. I am obsessed with these. I keep them in the car and take them backpacking and car camping with me all the time. They are so so so much better than the other instants people use for backpacking. We are here from out of town, and fortunately picked Rose Park for our first coffee outing! It's so good that we have walked here three days straight. I think their mocha is the best I've had, and the oat milk they use is super creamy as well. There is too much good coffee and tea places in Long Beach. I can't tell if I this takes the place of my favorite coffee place in Long Beach, or if it's tied with the Merchant. I'm reserving one star until I try their pastries, which I haven't yet! Atmosphere: Spacious inside but due to Covid, no indoor seating. They have a nice parklet. Every time I've been it's never been too crowded. Drinks: Their coffees and latte's are solid and fresh and delicious. I'm more of a tea drinker, so my go to's are the lavender in the fog and the matcha mint agave. The lavender in the fog has a delicious and strong tea flavor, which is diluted a bit with yummy orange zest flavoring and milk (I always get it with oat milk). It is refreshing and delicious). The Matcha Mint is by far my favorite though. Probably one of the best matcha drinks I've had? The matcha is prominent in flavor but not overly earthy, and the mint agave syrup is subtle, perfectly sweet and refreshing. It is a true delight. I also want to make a shout out to their seasonal caramel miso latte. The umami in this is insane. I wish they would make this a permanent item, but I will relish in this so long as it is here. Drinks are average priced, but go up due to the milk alternatives. My hope is that in the near future, milk alternatives don't cost, but one can dream haha. Service: Always friendly, always prompt. Such good coffee!! What a nice addition to this neighborhood! Located along busy 4th street, Rose Park Roasters is a pleasant surprise in this eclectic neighborhood. It is right next to a liquor store. Parking is limited and you either get residential parking or get lucky with 4th street parking. The street isn't too big and most of the time it is a busy street. You walk in and there is a nice and calming ambiance. There are indoor tables as well as some outdoor seating. The menu is pretty straightforward. I got the iced chai latte and my friend got the sweet latte. Both were good. I'd come back and try their other items. Also, there are some pastries in the display. They use paper straws! I wanted to like them so bad! I've heard decent opinions of their coffee and decided to try them out because I was nearby and didn't feel like driving all the way to 2nd street for Colossus coffee. The first thing I'll say is the staff was nice and friendly. Unfortunately, that was the only positive part of my experience. I ordered two iced beverages (nitro cold brew & almond mocha) and received the cold brew almost immediately after ordering, despite there being two people ahead of me. After serving the two people ahead of me, the 3-4 people behind me, and someone who seemed to have placed an online order for two drinks, I finally received my iced mocha. I'm not really sure why it took so long. The cup of ice was sitting on the counter the entire time, so I don't think they forgot? The other drinks made before mine (but ordered after me) were hot, and (after working in a couple coffee shops) I know that steaming milk for lattes and caps takes far longer than pulling a shot for an iced drink. Anyway, I finally got it. Then I tasted it. It was so disappointing and anti-climactic. The coffee tastes a bit under-extracted and bitter, which is so overpowering to the rest of the drink. A mocha is such an easy drink - chocolate and coffee! But it was so bad and really not sweet at all. $15 down the drain, literally. read more

This is what a perfect neighborhood cafe is meant to be! I was visiting Lonf beach for a few days and found this place near where I was staying. Rose Park is a roastery that has another cage location in Long beach. This is on a quiet street where people walk their dog, wait for their buses, and sit in their balconies. Atmosphere: very relaxed and cozy, unpretentious. Not too modern or Instagram-minded. I liked the comfortable feeling this place gave. Coffee: I had cappuccino and macchiato. Very smooth with depth and just enough acidity for my taste. Nice foam and latte art, which is always a bonus! People: wonderful all around! I got to talk to Andrew, one of the owners of the roastery, and it was so nice to talk about the small lots they buy and beans they use for their espresso drinks. (100% Brazil, by the way, for the espresso!) Other baristas I interacted during my 2 visits were also very friendly, competent, and helpful. Food items: The first day I visited they were doing a pop-up breakfast, which was a you fried rice. It looked and smelled so yummy, but I wasn't too hungry so I didn't get it. I keep thinking about it, tho! They have croissants (from a local bakery) and muffins as well as donuts. I would have liked a few more baked items, but it was a good enough selection. I really enjoyed visiting this place and drinking their coffee while people watching. A relaxed place to see your friends, have good breakfast, or work on something.
