My friend and I both got iced maple lavender lattes with oat milk and they were pretty good and not too sweet! I did wish there was a stronger lavender flavor though. One of my favorite coffee shops in Long Beach. I love their seasonal lattes, always an adventurous choice to pick if you want to try something new. I also like their iced americano, really gives me the caffeine jolt I need to get work done. Parking around this area is pretty easy, lots of street and neighborhood parking, parallel parking skills may be required. The store itself is cozy and small but there are about a handful of tables scattered and plenty more stools by the windows. Dog friendly coffee shop! I ordered a single origin latte and I expect a barista or whoever is taking my order to tell me if the single Origin espresso does not work in the latte, which is what is done in most third wave coffee shops. Honestly, most unknowledgeable person to take my order- even asked what notes their blend has and he was unable to give me any information... The Mexican Single origin espresso does NOT work in a latte. It's simply not rich enough, but will work in a cappuccino. What do I need to get the morning started? Coffee!! Wanted to check out somewhere local and Rose Park Roasters fit the bill! Rose Park Roasters is a cute little coffee shop off the main street in the neighborhood, parking could be tricky, I parked near the grocery store and just walked over. After checking out the menu , I ordered some fancy toast and iced latte. The ice latte was a Maple Lavender Latte, it was lavender, hint of maple with orange zest on top. I have never had a lavender coffee so I wasn't sure if it would be too heavy with lavender, but this latte was pretty amazing, the flavors just blend and complement each other. If it wasn't for my bestie I probably would never try a lavender coffee, but now I happy I have! So good! My fancy toast was prosciutto with a poached egg and greens on toast with a light coating of grain mustard. It was pretty fancy, and somewhat messy, but very yummy! My friends got lattes and they enjoyed their drinks as well. It's a very mellow vibe inside too, I noticed a few people there studying so it's a good place to go in and do some work too. So I had been hearing a lot of buzz about lavender lattes. Imagine my delight when I googled it and found they are served at a coffee shop walking distance from my home. I was salivating ordering the Maple Lavender latte and a butternut squash galette on line. When I picked it up the staff was bright and cheery but I was surprised at the size of the latte given it is priced at nearly $6. I brushed that off because it's special right? Uhhh....NO! I tasted zero Lavender and the maple tasted like maple-flavor, not authentic maple. I could be wrong but I am very sensitive to artificial flavors. About the galette...again I was so elated to see this special French pastry being served in my neighborhood. Well it was ice cold...like out of the frig cold. I spend three week every summer in Paris so my critique of the galette may be a little harsh but honestly I didn't expect a pastry priced at $6ish to be served straight outta the frig. They're opened where Roasted Notz used to be located - on the corner of 4th and Freeman. They've kept pretty much the same layout, but have jazzed up the furniture. I love the pops of turquoise color and the new comfy chairs in the corner. PARKING - Street parking in the residential area around - just make sure to read the signs and don't get towed! COFFEE - I tried their seasonal ginger and molasses latte. It came out to $5.72!!! It was pretty good, but not worth the price. ATMOSPHERE - Plenty of outlets around, great open windows that let in a lot of light, but can also be hard to study when the light shines through so you can't see your laptop screen. Also, there's no AC, only two fans that hang from the ceiling, so on a hot day I would avoid! Cute place to study though for sure. I'll be back, but not too often because their coffee is definitely on the pricey side. read more

This is my favorite coffee shop period! Situated at the corner of E 4th st and Freeman ave. Parking is a hit or miss just depends on what time you go. I usually find parking on freeman ave. It's easier to order online and pick up. The maple lavender latte is a must (hot or ice) if you're looking for something different from you're usual cup of coffee. It has the perfect balance of lavender, milk, ice (or milk alternative) and a touch of orange zest which sounds bizarre but surprisingly works. My go to is their ice latte. The first time I tried it I thought to myself "this is how a latte should taste. I also buy their "el espresso" beans (the same ones they use to make their lattes- I was told)." Respectively, my GF and I have been comparing their lattes with other coffee shops and most don't measure up. Covid-19 safety: Usual safety measures (i.e. masks required, social distance enforced, transparent glass/plastic partition between staff and customers at register, etc). I really like the space in here, as it has ample seating, tall ceilings, old town vibe. Okay, but the coffee. I tried a decaf maple lavender latte (iced), and it was pretty good. I appreciate the different/floral taste, as it's definitely unique. It was a bit too sweet for my taste, honestly. The barista made a regular size rather than large, so he was gracious enough to redo the latte for the right size. Not a service that comes with a smile, per say, but if you are craving a different flavored latte or coffee drink, it's worth checking out. read more

I love this place. They have good drinks and good breakfast food. Service also seems good. They have a lot of chargers inside which is a definite plus. Also free WiFi (ask cashier for password). Cute little place. I really loved the atmosphere of the place! I got the matcha latte with almond milk and it was a bit too watery (maybe because of the almond milk)? I'd give it a 7/10. I also got the banana bread and was not a fan of it. I could taste the sugar bits and there were chunks of uncooked banana. It also tasted a bit eggy. I'd give it a 4/10. Overall, nothing special but nothing terrible! The music was great but of course if you're a student *I don't think I'd recommend studying indoors here. However, there is outdoor seatings right now. My true rating would be 3.5/5. I know Rose Park Roasters from its iconic coffee and arrow sign and was super excited to finally stop by. I loved the overall atmosphere with how it's very bright and energetic and helps you feel recharged. I stopped by around 9:40 am on a Saturday morning hoping to beat the crowd. Nope. It was ridiculously busy. There are a few tables inside as well as outside, including two lounge chairs and communal tables, but it's not nearly enough to seat everyone. I got super lucky to find a seat inside. I decided to treat myself to a Cold Brew and Thai Tea donut. The look of the thai tea donut was definitely there with its iconic pale orange and it had a sweetness similar to condense milk which is essential in Thai Tea. But the flavor of the donut was underwhelming for me. I was hoping for a stronger tea flavor but it was very subtle. I didn't think it tasted like Thai Tea - it just tasted sweet. That's not to say the donut wasn't good. I enjoyed the sweet flavor. And out of the few vegan donuts I've tried, the soft, fluffy texture of these were my favorite. Plus, the coconut shavings were a really nice touch. My biggest qualm with the donut was with the price tag. $3 for a tiny donut? I know it's vegan and a unique flavor, but I've gotten bigger "specialty" donuts for less than that. It was tasty and I would love to try other flavors, but I wonder if a donut that fits in the palm of my hand is worth $3. As for my Cold Brew, the cold brew on tap that day was a Yemen Haraa Red. It was fairly light, but with a strong taste at the end of each sip. I wouldn't say it's bitter, but there's definitely a slight caffeine kick. It almost doesn't taste like coffee because the roast was kinda mild. After a while I even started drinking it like it was juice instead of coffee. Definitely on my list of favorite cold brews! Rose Park is good for going with one other person or alone. But don't come here if you're trying to find a quiet spot. This is a very energetic and fairly loud environment that's better for getting work done on your laptops or chatting with a friend. But fair warning, this place gets packed fast. While this is an awesome spot to stop and chat or get work done, there's a good chance this will end up being a quick stop instead, so keep that in mind before you make the drive over with your laptop. Cool hipster spot in the city of Long Beach in the residental area. Another overly priced coffee shop with a cool-chill atmostphere. Not a whole lot of tables to sit and hang out at, but it's cozy. I had the rose black tea, while the man had their cold brew (Kenya beans). The tea normally comes hot, but I asked for iced, being that it was such a hot day. The cold brew flavor was just okay. I'm not a fan of the fruity-citrusy flavor. I prefer the earthy aftertaste for my coffee. This brew was a special limited time, but their house brew is always good. Amazing local roasters. I've only tried their americanos and decaf coffees, but they've always been delicious. It's hard to find good decaf, but we got lucky with this place. I head in almost every Thursday to get some fresh decaf beans and a drink to go. It's a little disappointing that they don't often have decaf coffee available for purchase, but that's pretty typical for most coffee shops. Staff seems knowledgeable and typically friendly. They have decent spacing for social distancing while waiting for your order. Unfortunately, I have noticed some baristas with their nose hanging out of their mask... I think they missed the point? But I also understand it has to be difficult for them to be working as they are during this time. All in all, great local business to support. read more
