The interior is small and quaint with locally made art for sale. I immediately noticed the incredible selection of pasties, macaroons, and sweet treats. I love croissants, so I ordered the pistachio croissant. It was flaky, with an outstanding gooey interior full of pistachio cream. I would order another one in a heartbeat! I also ordered an iced green tea Matcha with whole milk and it was delicious! I am really excited to venture back and try more of their selection. The smell of fresh baked bread is sooooo intoxicating! I had to have some! Even though the bakery wasn't open yet, the owner and head baker let me in. Carb Heaven was all mine! I looked at all of the artisanal offers, and locally made jams and how to pick???? It was a tough choice but I eventually found the perfect bread. It weighed about 3 pounds and was full of incredible grains and what have you. I learned to NEVER put his bread in the refrigerator! Keep in bag on the counter, slice your way through the loaf as it continues to develop over several days! If you don't get through the loaf in say several days, freeze the remainder of the loaf (perhaps slicing it before freezing) and take out bread as needed. If you love delicious, healthy, handcrafted bread you need to come here.....ASAP!!

The guy manning the store was friendly, and explained their products to me as being all sourdough based. When we arrived just before opening, the case was full with a variety of loaves and pastries, and more came in as we sat and ate our food. There are a couple of tables to sit at which was nice on a particularly hot and humid day, to be in the AC. We tried the Olive fougasse (10/10), the chocolate croissant (8/10), the morning bun (8.5/10) and purchased a loaf of the danish rye to go. The fougasse was excellent, salty, buttery, pillowy- just delicious. I felt the sweet pastries were a little too sweet for my preference, but I would return to try the almond croissant or other pastries because I'm certain there is more to enjoy. I only wish they were open earlier, or on more days of the week- that is the reason it's taken so long for us to try this place out!

She helped me to get up and was gracious regarding my minor rearrangement of her shop and cheerful enough that I went from embarrassment to laughter in record time. My late beloved Mama found this lovely, cute bake shop decades ago when they first opened, and she was a delighted weekly customer whenever she was at her east-side Tucson home. Michael handled flushing out the details with me and then relayed them to Hannah. I had a specific request for a vegan and gluten free cake. With their recommendation on flavors, we landed on a chocolate cake with cherry filling. Coordinating timing and pick-up was easy and they were great to work with. My friend with celiac disease and another who has other food sensitivities loved the cake and so did my other friends. It was a hit. We love how it turned out!
