I've been here a few times. It's always okay. It's a bit pricey for the food and being counter service. The deal for oysters on Thursdays is what gets me there but often sold out of a several types of oyster. One thing I love about it here is $5 corkage fee!

The coconut shrimp here is so good; crispy, light and generous! Had the oyster shooter and spicy it was! Service is friendly, efficient and attentive. It's very beach casual and you order at the counter. Full bar too! Unfortunately their onion rings need rethinking by the chef! The oil is not hot enough so they come greasy and under seasoned. Just awful. Very comfortable vibe here and a local favorite on the Penninsula.

Stopped in Sunday at noon and had some fish tacos outside. It is a nice place for some fish tacos. It seems like it can get very busy but it was medium when we go there. Came down from Cadrillo and finished of some good shrimp and fish n chips. It is very open and relaxed and nice spot for a Sunday lunch.

We really enjoyed our meal here. Great seafood and a good tap list. I probably would not get my fish blackened again - it was really spicy! Overall a lovely meal with friendly workers.

Came in to point loma seafood with my cousin for lunch after visiting my uncle in a nearby assisted living facility. My cousin ordered the fish platter, I had a sourdough bread bowl of clam chowder and a small shrimp plate. Lots of food, everything served hot,and tasted good. Ordered at the counter and paid for our lunch. Then our number was called after about 10 minutes, back to the counter to pick up our tray. It was a nice day so we sat at an outside table to eat. Next to San Diego bay and adjacent to point loma Sportfishing landing. Prices were a little high but not astronomical by any means. I'll return.

My college daughter wanted to come since she was in town. We arrived a little after they opened. I ordered mahi mahi tacos and wanted oysters but they were out. My husband got the fish and chips and clam chowder. Between my 2 daughters, shrimp ceviche, elote tacos, calamari and spicy Dorado taco. My tacos were lacking fish and had lots of toppings. The clam chowder wad creamy and delicious. The shrimp ceviche was great!

Point Loma Fish Shop has been one of my favorite places when I have visited San Diego and now as I have moved here. My husband and I's go to is always their ceviche. We love getting the mix of the shrimp and mahi mahi. It is incredible every single time! Service has always been fast even when it is busy. Everything I have tried here has been really good from the calamari to the coconut shrimp to fish tacos to fish and chips. We love to be able to sit outside as we eat amazing seafood! They have a loyalty program too that we just joined which I am excited for. If you love seafood and you're in the Point Loma area or in San Diego in general, then you should definitely check out Point Loma Fish Shop! You can't go wrong with anything you order from here.

I got the mahi mahi sandwich here. It was a satisfying meal. The fish was cooked just right and very juicy. Also the fries were perfect. I also enjoyed reading their signage that explained all the different fishes and what they tasted like lol - quite educational.

I've been to the Fish Shop twice so far and loved both visits. It's a dog friendly spot where locals and nearby base sailors enjoy food and drinks. Street parking in and around the neighborhood makes it easy to find a place to square away the vehicle. Orders are placed and paid upfront. The items will be brought over to the table. It can get extremely busy over the weekends and other typical peak hours. I found visiting off peak hours on a Tuesday best. There will be Taco Tuesday deals and it's far less crowded if visited before 5pm. The service quality can vary depending on who is working that day as with anywhere you go and eat. I loved the Fish Shop shrimps that was marinated in savory seasoning. I am glad I ordered it with a side salad because it made for a far more filling meal. The onion rings were melt in the mouth but crispy kind aka my favorite kind!! The clam chowder was a bit chalky and lumpy for my liking, but many others love them. I am looking forward to revisiting in the future.

Friendly casual place for you to get your fish cravings met. I recommend the plate which you get to pick your seasoning and 2 sides. Service is friendly and laid back. Nice and clean with outdoor patio that is dog friendly. There are heaters in the patio for warmth. Food is pretty great with good portions and good meat quality. Fish were grilled very well. I highly recommend you get clam chowder, too! 5/5 just for chowder alone and it's a huge bowl, too.

Craving some really good fish and chips, this spot delivers! The fish pieces were HUGE, tasted fresh, and were perfectly crispy. Plenty of seating on the wrap around patio was also a nice touch, gives off that laid back vibe. Not to mention service was super fast and friendly. Definitely one of those places you'll want to come back to whenever you're in the mood for solid seafood.

Yum. Service is friendly and fast and their food is amazing. I'm not a big sea food or fish person in general, but I love the mahi mahi here! I ordered the Elote taco and some fries and they were amazing. Fries are fresh! Taco is stuffed to the brim and mahi mahi tasted perfect. Ambiance is casual and relaxed. I love coming here and chatting with the friendly staff members! They have tvs to entertain yourself with sports. Today it's baseball and golf!

They have plenty of TV's to watch sports. The bar has three big screens! They have taco Tuesday specials and on Thursday they have oyster specials and cocktail shrimp. They have a parking lot behind their establishment but they also have street parking which wasn't hard to find a spot. They have spritzer which are delicious. I'd say most cocktails are around 14/15 bucks beers are like 8-10 bucks they also have wine. . They have pitchers special too. Their kids menu is a good portion in case you're not too hungry but want something to munch on while watching some football. Plenty of bars to go to in the area. Service was fast and the workers were nice and attentive

Way too expensive for the portion sizes. The poke bowl is $22 for a few bites. I would give them a good rating if they lowered their prices.

Gordo's adobada can compare favorably to al pastor anywhere; however, my experience at this "Gordo" location in Gaslamp has been inconsistent compared to Chula Vista and Vegas locations, due to their higher volume. The smaller space also has less seating, which is a bummer if you are coming here on a busy comic con day. The adobada here, though, is the taco to get. Consider yourself lucky if you get a nice portion of crispy and burnt bits as they offer nice textural bites. Their sauces/salsas are also equally good, and it sets it above and beyond another taquero from Tijuana, Tacos El Franc. Don't shy away from their asada tacos either, as the meat has a nice kiss of charcoal and it's topped with a generous portion of guac. I gave up trying to get my lengua taco because I had no idea that I was supposed to receive it first before I received my fries (after paying). If my review is confusing, it's because it really was confusing during my visit here. But that's not all. There were upstairs seating available, but NO AIR WAS AVAILABLE. It was unbearable to sit in that heat and eat comfortably in that kind of environment. I felt so nauseous during and after my visit at this location. I don't even remember how my one taco tasted.. Even later, when I threw it up later that night.. Will not go back to this location, but am willing to check out other locations.

I ordered: * Mahi Mahi Taco: the fish tasted fresh, and I liked the crispy onions on top. There was quite a bit of sauce, which made it pretty messy to eat. While the fish was good, it felt like a very heavy taco overall. * Surf & Turf Taco: this was loaded with steak and topped with two flavorful shrimp. The shrimp had an amazing flavor, and this taco was much more enjoyable and balanced. Overall, the service was great, the prices were very reasonable, and the protein quality was excellent. My only critique is that the tacos felt a little overdone with toppings and sauces when the quality of the protein could easily stand on its own. Still, it's a solid spot for an affordable late-night bite. One thing to note: there are no restrooms available inside the restaurant.

It's no secret that San Diego has tacos in…read morespades and being so close to the border, you'd think that a quest to find the perfect taco would be as simple as rolling down to the nearest taqueria. Except, it's not quite that simple. Many beloved staples have gone downhill, while some newer spots that might boast things like a Michelin mention or multiple locations ranging from TJ to Vegas contain more hype and gristle than tender meat and substance. Enter Chula Tacos. Chula is, and always was, the type of place that makes you forget that you're not actually in Tijuana. While part of me misses their OG Market Street location, seeing them with brick-and-mortars feels hard-earned and well-deserved. This location on Palm in IB is relatively easy to access from the freeway, but parking can be tricky. You can safely assume that it will be busy and you will either have to be very lucky or be willing to find a spot on the street. Out of all the times I've been here, it's always been crowded enough that I've never been able to find a table inside, but I enjoy sitting out on the patio next to the ahumederos. The first thing that hits you walking through the door is how amazing everything smells. The queue to the cashier takes you near a window showing the kitchen where you can see the Chula Tacos team making fresh tortillas, slicing meat from the trompos, grilling up jalapenos, nopales, onions, labio, and tripa. For me, it's not so much a challenge to decide what I want, it's more a challenge to keep myself from ordering everything. My usual is four tacos: two asada, two al pastor (but I've heard that I should also try their world famous keka). The tacos though? Perfection. Every time, the asada is the juiciest and most tender I've ever eaten, the al pastor is succulent and flavorful, and no taco in front of me is long for the world. At $3.50 each, every one of them is absolutely loaded. Three would honestly fill me up, but I always want four. After getting burned by spots that ask around 75% more and deliver anywhere between 25-50% less, Chula Tacos feels like an absolute godsend of a Tijuana-style taqueria and I can't see any other contenders being my go-to. So, when I say "Tacos will fix me," what I mean nowadays is "Chula Tacos will fix me."
