I had friends from New York and Oklahoma visiting and tried showing them some cool bars Philly had to offer. There was a bar back/ table cleaner (?) organizing and picking up glasses who made a comment to me (as I was leaning on the back of a chair and my friends were dancing), "Get your ass off my chair or I'll have you thrown out. If you want to sit you can sit properly." Then ran away and went down the stairs. Another staff member by the bathrooms was continually yelling at people almost to the point of harassment or bullying. We were a group of 6 and all paid 10$ per person to enter this place, bought drinks, and were just enjoying the vibe. A huge disappointment and embarrassment. Maybe I'll return for a regular weeknight drag show or something but would not recommend.

We were offered like chill bar vibes, spooky dj, lesbian comedy, or werewolf drag show because all were available that night. We went with werewolf drag (obvs) which did have a cover and there was definitely an ok drag show but it was werewolf deficient unfortunately. Then we grabbed some food and more drinks, which were great and heard and saw spooky dj setting up, which was our cue to leave as we had early flights and meetings the next day. Overall we had a pretty fantastic time and the service was above and beyond and the vibes were really great (though I and still bummed they didn't involve more werewolves). Would definitely go back!

A Must-Visit NYC Gem: Incredible Music, Food, and Energy! If…read moreyou want the ultimate New York City night out, Prohibition is the place to be! We had an absolute blast from the moment we stepped inside. The whole experience--from the warm welcome at the door to the high-energy live music--was 10/10. The Food Experience: Truly Next Level The food here isn't just "bar snacks"--it's a full-on culinary experience. We tried several dishes and honestly, every single one was a hit: * Grandma's Sunday Sauce: This was the star of the show. It's pure comfort in a bowl and tastes like it's been simmering for days. * The Bacon: You can't go wrong here. It's perfectly prepared, smoky, and dangerously addictive. * The Burrata: So fresh and creamy--the perfect way to start the meal. * Crispy Shrimp: These had the perfect crunch and were packed with flavor. The Vibes & Service The host set the tone right away with a great welcome, and the service throughout the night was seamless. It's rare to find a spot that balances a sophisticated "speakeasy" atmosphere with such friendly, attentive staff. And of course, the music! The live band was electric and kept the energy high all night long. The "Roaring 20s" vibe is so well-done--it feels intimate but exciting at the same time. Final Verdict I would definitely suggest Prohibition to everyone! Whether you're a local or just visiting the city, this is the spot for great food, amazing service, and a vibe you won't find anywhere else. We'll definitely be back for more!

They had live music which was also so much fun! We sang along and enjoyed our drinks and food. My husband got the braised pork shank and I got the grandmas sauce pasta dish. DELICIOUS!! We had the lamb and burratta with truffle fries to share- also to die for. We ended the night with some espresso martinis for a sweet ending. Amazing food, great service and entertainment. Definitely will come back! Ask for Ty! Best server!!

He denied it was possible and said the tech was down. To be clear, apparently the owner wants a policy of not allowing Apple Pay. Said my friends and I "should've asked in advance" and they were very rude. Would've been nice to have a heads up considering this may put a lot of patrons in unfortunate positions. Don't enjoy being lied to/victim blamed after spending my money at any establishment. Why blame the customer/change the story multiple times? Why lie about fake tech issues? Why have a policy where someone can't enjoy a drink without having to potentially run to an ATM after discovering this policy that has -no signage- advertising it? Very poor customer service. To be clear, we even tipped in full despite the very unprofessional attitude.

The live band was great, the vibe was lively, and people were actually dancing instead of just sitting around pretending they're "listening." Food was good, service was easygoing, and the best part: zero pressure. They have a minimum spend, but they don't play games with it. Hit the minimum however you want, drinks or food, your choice. Other places love to force both, which is basically a tax on having fun. Not here. Why not 5 stars? The place is a bit dated. Our booth was literally held up with tape and the cushion situation was... let's call it "vintage springs." I heard they're planning a remodel, and if that happens, this becomes an easy 5. Until then, it's a very fun 4 and I'd absolutely come back.

Most of the clubs we saw were more for eating/drinking while listening to music but didn't offer the dancing component. If you want to just listen to the music while enjoying your food/drink then sitting at the bar is free. To sit in the back area where the band and dancing is, there is a $15 cover fee. We didn't order any food and my friend did order some drinks but I'm not much of a drinker so I can't comment on that. We enjoyed the music and watching the regulars dance. A couple regulars were very nice and brought us out onto the dance floor to show us some simple moves! Unfortunately this place is closing at the end of December. It's really sad that it is going away as the regulars' described it as one of the places in the city with a dance floor where you can actually dance to the live jazz/swing music. If you are in the area before they close and want to spend some time away from the busy city definitely stop by here!

One thing that really stood out was the complimentary coat and bag check, such a nice touch and made everything feel easy and well-organized. We ordered a charcuterie board to snack on. Some parts were good, like the hummus, which was smooth and flavorful. A few of the veggies, though, seemed a little less fresh than expected, like the carrots and cucumbers, which were softer and a bit dry instead of crisp. The pita was also slightly on the dry side. It might have just been an off batch, but worth noting. Service overall was very attentive. At times, dishes and drinks were cleared a bit quickly--especially while I was in the middle of playing ping pong--but it really just reflects how prompt and on-top-of-things the staff are. On the flip side, they also help collect stray ping pong balls and keep buckets refilled, which makes the whole experience much smoother and more fun. Overall, it's a great spot for a night out with friends. You're really coming here for the ping pong and the energy, and on that front, it definitely delivers.

We came recently as paying customers on a double-date and had a great time again. If you're playing ping pong you can eat and play at the same time, but it's a little awkward because there's only so much room for your food. Overall, the food was pretty good. Nothing amazing. Well, except for the grilled Korean chicken sandwich; that was the highlight. Other dishes like the fries and the burger, per my husband-- were just simply passable. The truffle fries were much better than the ones that showed up with my sandwich, which by the way I had no idea came with the dish. So, I paid for fries twice. The ambiance is cool, very instagrammable, but it is super loud. I don't know how anyone could talk to each other. Cool if you're playing ping pong and just hanging, but don't think you're going to catch up with an old friend here. Not unless they have a more subdued experience earlier in the day. We came on a Saturday night and I had to be right up on my friend to hear her.

We enjoyed a pre-dinner drink at the bar, and we were so impressed by how friendly the bartenders were. They were engaging and social. They set off our evening on a high note! My Pink Jaguar cocktail was beautiful and caused quite a buzz among the bar patrons! We opted to sit outside, and we are glad we did. The space is open and breezy but fully covered. No need to worry if a passing shower makes its way overhead. Steamed clams in white wine and Truffle fries for the table to start. Yum! All entrees are accompanied by a house salad or Ceasar salad. Our group ordered the Limone Chicken, Chicken Sfiziosa, Steak Frite, and the Eggplant Meatballs/Risotto. Everything came out piping hot and delicious. We loved everything. I know their linguine is house made, but not certain of the other pasta varietals. Cheesecake and Cannoli for dessert, because why not? Really nice experience! Our server was sweet and super-efficient. My only question for Filomena's Lakeview is "Where is the lake?" :)

We arrived around 3:45 PM without reservations and they immediately took us to an open table. Iced Waters were instant. Our server was very pleasant and she took our order. Bread quickly followed with two types served: Italian with sesame seeds and focaccia; however I was puzzled that it was served with a plate of hot peppers and onions in a juice. It seemed off but perhaps it's a Jersey thing. I've been all over in Italy and have never seen this. Olive oil would have been fine along with a splash of balsamic vinegar. Either way I skipped bread condiments. Next came the Fried Tomatoes topped with Lump Crab as an appetizer, but once again I had another head-scratcher, as this dish wasn't typical. First the entire dish lacked seasoning plus salt. Then red tomatoes were used and we all know what happens when you try to fry one. It turns to water after you cut it. The lump crab is what probably made this dish pricey but 3 thinly slices of a red tomato caught me off guard. Now for the final knock out: I ordered the Bone In Pork Chop and impressed that I was asked how Iiked it prepared? I said 145 degrees. She said, you mean well- done. I stated no, that would be in a range of medium. Lo and behold, it was fantastically preparation temperature, but it came topped with the same peppers and onions concoction that came out with the bread. I had no idea that this was a smothered situation. My broccolini was also a mystery. The mashed potatoes were mid. Now on to my daughter's chicken Parmesan: She said that it lacked flavor and had to add salt and pepper and also stated that the sauce was loose and there was too little of it. My wife enjoyed her Salmon. Jersey is cooking differently!!!!! I forgot to add: Underneath of my pork chop I discovered a mysterious piece of corn. I had no corn in my dish??????
