I LOVE THE CANNOLIS HERE!!!!!!!!! I get a cannoli every time. The chocolate chip one is my fav but the og pistachio hits too. The dirty dorito sandwich was so good!! Honestly so smart and saves me from squishing chips in myself lol! Split pea was tasty and love the add of grated parm and oyster crackers!

I've always passed by this little sandwich shop in California and have always wondered what they got. Finally I had some time to pick up food for lunch and the hubby placed a phone order for pickup and the rest was history. It's a tiny shop on Logan and California, so don't blink or else you'll miss it! I lucked out and found parking right in front of the shop, actually I was illegally parked but just put my blinkers on as I was on a mission to do a quick in and out! The service was fast and efficient and got my food in about 5 min or less. I ordered the turkey sandwich with cheese and when I got home, I was expecting your usual sub sandwich comparable to Subway or Jimmy John's. When I opened up my sandwich I was surprised to find fresh deli meat in there and the sandwich was dipped in some sauce. At first I wasn't sure if I wanted my sandwich all dipped and wet but once I bit into that sucker, I was pleasantly surprised that I really loved the taste. It was a very tasty turkey sandwich! I would totally order that again! Can't wait to try all the other things on their menu. Heard also that they are one of the only sandwich spots in chicago that makes a muffuletta sandwich.

WoW! I recently helped a friend pack & move. Ugh... I know, right!?! We were starving by the time we finished but couldn't really settle on a place to eat. Surrounded by fast food & convenience stores, we found this AH-MAZING deli/sandwich gem! Rosie's Sidekick It's a complete standout of a place where your sandwiches are made to order... just the way you want them! It's a not your average "run of the mill" type of sterile setting like a large chain... it's quaint & packs a powerful flavor punch! The sandwiches are stuffed with freshly sliced home-crafted meats, cheeses with an array of fresh vegetables & condiments like the homemade Al Pacino sauce, fresh pesto, garlic aioli & the Italian dressing. (just to name a few)! The bread is baked fresh daily by a local bakery, D'Amatos. (Just 5 ingredients in most all of their bread(s)! Tasty & healthy, too! I especially enjoyed their Meatball Sub with marinara, Italian Beef & the ever popular Muffulatta again, all homemade! Thank you to Freddy, the owner, who guided us through the deli journey & also recommended the homemade cannoli! Yum! What a sweet way to end our day! *They also have a location across Schaumburg across from Woodfield Mall. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ‼‼Update‼‼ Rosie's Sidekick also does large orders & caters for parties/events.

    Dirty Dorito

Ordered for delivery - GREAT sandwich, fresh and tasty. Dirty Dorito was great. Minestrone soup and cannoli were great too. 10/10

    "The Veggie Sandwich"

Objectively one of the worst "veggie" sandwiches I've ever had. Just a bunch of jarred vegetables dumped on top of vaguely toasted bread and cheese that is sort of warmed? An oily and somehow flavorless mess. My bad for having trusted a place that clearly only has this sandwich as an afterthought.

Needed a quick lunch after the gym and decided to take part in Rosie's Wednesday lunch special: any 8 inch for $8.95. Ordered the Deluxe Italian on their website and it was bagged and ready when I arrived. I was greeted at the door and given my sandwich with a smile. It was packed with meat and fresh veggies and the thinly sliced onions with the oil & vinegar are spot on! I will definitely be back to try the Italian beef. Great quality and quick service.

Great local spot - 4 stars because while over-stuffing the sandwich is great for the overall value of the delicious food you're getting, it's kinda hard to eat without being cut in half. Also - should've gotten it hot, not cold. I know for next time!

Sandwiches are the best and prepared well. They are on the pricey side but I love them a ton. Never had a bad sandwich from this place. Make sure to remember it's cash only as well, their Italian sub rules. They also have quality chips and drinks too which is a requirement for a good sub place. The staff is definitely on the quieter side but in the multiple times I've been there my order was correct and served quickly. Everyone here who is criticizing them seems to forget that working in service isn't always fun, they weren't rude but they aren't going to be cheery and honestly I don't care. I don't need to be buttered up and it's nice not having to make small talk while waiting for my sub. Also, they have never been outwardly ~rude~ to me, just quiet. Some people just want their asses kissed, I'm not that customer so take that for what you will. Anyway, the food is good, fast, and done right. Five stars for a good sub, always and forever.

The picnic basket even comes with a picnic blanket

My partner and I always try to eat local and we found ourselves wanting sandwiches. We found a neighborhood gem. Owned by super nice people who use fresh ingredients to include some homemade breads such as on the muffuletta. We did the picnic basket for 2 when we found it on their menu (they also have larger baskets) and decided to have an impromptu picnic. To our surprise when we got to a shaded area a little plastic picnic blanket was in the bottom of the basket. Thank you for the great lunch and great picnic.

    Online Menu (incorrect/outdated)
    Marlo M.

The online menu prices don't reflect the actual current prices -- very deceitful. The actual prices are much higher, like the new Al Pacino sub is $20! Just insane. I'll take my business to Humboldt Haus!

    Sad :(

I appreciated that they have ample seating room for eating them at maximum freshness. We ordered the turkey & Brie and roast beef sandwiches. The bread was super fresh with the perfect crunch and chew. No ingredients were skimped upon with the perfect balance of flavors. I loved how the crunchy apple contrasted the slab of Brie on the turkey sandwich, and the roasted garlic aioli brought a great savory balance. The roast beef sandwich was pretty spicy and I loved the slight smokiness of the provolone. We left very satisfied and with leftovers. I stopped in here after seeing posts on social media and I was not disappointed. I ate two of what quite possibly may be some of the best sandwiches I have ever had. The turkey and brie sandwich is out of this world. It has a smokey taste to which is supplemented by the subtle taste thinly sliced Granny Smith apples. The porchetta sandwich is perfectly salty and has perfect portions of meat, greens and fried capers. Both sandwiches are served on the default, fresh ciabatta bread. A true hidden gem, though likely not for long.
