This is a review of thier breakfast sandwhichs, not lunch. It a nutshell, I really am not impressed with the breakfast sandwhich. I ordered the Bacon, Egg & Cheese on a toasted bagel. For 7+ dollars I expected more. Everything was cooked ok but there was no flavor and my bagel wasn't toasted as I asked and there wasnt much of anything. It wasnt bad but it's just average. How does a place that puts our a superior lunch sandwhich fail with breakfast, I'm not sure either. read more

I would have given them 4.5/5 stars. I wanted to. But the Grilled veggie that appears on their menu on Yelp does not actually exist in their shop anymore. Think about what that did to the hungry vegetarian inside me who was SO excited to eat a delicious veggie filled sandwich. Alas I was disappointed to find out my options were some white cheddar thing or some veggie health sandwich with sprouts.....yeah... My Fiance did really enjoy his Italian and he claimed it was delicious. Their bread is pretty on point too as well as their broccoli cheddar. I ended up ordering a Mozarella sandwich with pesto and dipping it in the soup for more flavor. But, there was no good vegetarian sandwich (even though the menu says so) and for that, I give them my 3 stars. One of my favorite lunch spots downtown! The traditional Italian is probably the best sandwich i've ever had! The chicken parm is also very tasty. I always suggest going here for lunches with coworkers! The staff are nice and if you eat there you get pasta salad as well. Great spot for tasty, flavorful sandwiches. I've tried at least 3 of them but the Italian is my favorite. Having had a "real Italian hoagie" when I lived in Philly, this is as close as I've come since I've been in Baltimore. They are definitely overpriced for what you get, but that's Baltimore lunch pricing. This location is near Inner Harbor but is definitely a bit out of the way/hidden from the Pratt St chains. I would urge you to walk up to Lombard and seek them out. Service is fast and friendly. Nice tables for seating if you want to eat in. Rosina Gourmet is a cute, sunny little sandwich, soup, and salad shop tucked into an office building in downtown Baltimore. Staff is extremely friendly. Food was OK. The caprese sandwich was a bit lacking in flavor, though I liked the side pasta salad. The chicken noodle soup was delicious though, and a small is actually quite big. They offer cups & water, so you do not need to buy a bottle. I would not rush here, but in general, I'd prefer it over a big chain. read more

You'd figure a sandwich place would be open regular hours of most food places in the area but they're usually last to open, first to close. The sandwiches here are really great though... Really delicious sandwich/salad spot! Stopped in with my sister for a quick lunch and we really enjoyed both of the sandwiches we had! PROSCUITTO: Came with mozarella and tomatoes. The mozarella was really creamy and soft. Adequate portion of meat. Juicy tomatoes. Chewy ciabatta. TURKEY/BRIE: Turkey was smoky. Brie was super soft and melted. Crisp baguette. Both sandwiches came with a creamy penne pesto salad. YUM!!! I would probably stop in again for lunch, but the prices are pretty expensive. Two sandwiches and a bag of chips was $23. We were really happy with our experience at Rosina Gourmet! Stopped by Saturday around noon after rejecting some of the more intense (expensive, fattening) restaurant choices in the neighborhood. There were a good number of people there but we didn't wait long at all (maybe four minutes). You order at the counter and either take it to go or grab one of the tables. I got the Health Sandwich (sprouts, onion, lettuce, tomato, cheese, honey mustard, wheat bread, etc) and it was way more than the sum of its parts. I wasn't expecting it to be so flavorful or yummy, just basic. And it was great! Each sandwich came with a nice scoop of pasta salad (sort of a peppery pesto type thing) that was very nice to round out the meal. They serve Zeke's coffee, which is really nice, and sell it by the pound. We saw them prepping one of their catering orders and it looked pretty yummy. Even though I travel a lot, I'm not one to review a place outside of my current home city; I feel I don't have the needed expertise and context. For Rosina's, I'll make the exception, because they simply make a great sandwich. Any week I'm in Baltimore for work, I stop at Rosina's at least once, because their sandwich restore ones sanity. Good bread makes for a good sandwich, and Rosina's salted ciabatta is arousingly good. Eat-in, versus to-go, because then you're sandwich will come with a little side of pasta salad or mixed greens (changes daily, always pretty good). Always check for the daily specials, which are on a placard by the register, before ordering. Good stuff. And the solid selection of drinks and chips -like Boylan's soda and Route 66 sweet potato chips- is just gravy. Minus one star because they can run out of stuff, and seating can be hard to come by during the peak lunch hour, forcing me to take my sandwich to-go and miss out on the side. read more

I've eaten here many times over the last couple of years. Generally the sandwiches have been good, but small and very expensive. Ordered salads recently (past two times) and they give a big list of what your choices are. Three choices listed as "included" are bacon, avocado and egg. They tried to charge me an upcharge for each of them. Came back the next day and the sign still has these items as free, but in small letters at the top says there is an upcharge. Is it really that hard to erase the items and make things more clear? $17 for a tiny salad that is drenched in too much dressing isn't really worth it. I can go to overpriced Nalley Fresh and get a much bigger salad for less. read more

They make fantastic sandwiches at Rosina Gourmet. Interesting combinations that are very flavorful and definitely not run-of-the-mill. I particularly like the White Cheddar (aged white cheddar, granny smith apple slices, alfalfa sprouts, field greens, and homemade honey mustard). The place is a tad pricey (e.g. the White Cheddar sandwich is $6.99), but the ingredients are fresh and well-prepared so the price-tag is probably justified. I eat here fairly often and the sandwiches are certainly better than your run of the mill deli. However, you are going to pay a premium for that. And it seems you are now going to pay a premium for condiments. I recently ordered the fried chicken sandwich, which comes with romaine lettuce (usually about 1/2 a wilted leaf), tomato (sliced very thinly) and mayo. I asked for extra mayo, because they barely put any on the last time I ordered and fried chicken on bread can be a little dry. When I picked up my order to pay I realized they charged me $0.75 for mayo!!!! I could understand the upcharge if I asked for one of their specialty mayos, like the pesto mayo (which is really good and worth the upcharge), but I just wanted a little more regular mayo. So I spent $10.00 on one sandwich, no chips or drinks. This just seems a little greedy to me, especially since when I got back to my office there didn't seem to be much more mayo than any other time I've ordered the same sandwich. I can't say I don't plan to ever eat here again, because I do like to give myself a little treat every so often, but I don't think I'll ask for extra mayo and I don't think I'll order from them quite as often. read more

I've resolved myself to the fact that I am and will continue to be a frequent patron of Rosina's as they are located 3 steps from my office...but when you spend $8-$10 on a sandwich, it better have premium ingredients. In general, I can say this is true for Rosina's, but today I ordered the Mozzarella, Tomato and Basil sandwich and I am disappointed. The 2 slices of tomato that came on the sandwich have clearly been cut with a razor blade because they are "see through" thin. It's only 3 ingredients! I didn't think it was possible to screw it up. So, I am eating a mozzarella and basil sandwich with a hint of tomato. Is this the new version of cutting costs? These folks are Italians...aren't tomatoes the key ingredient to 90% of staple Italian dishes? Even their logo mimics a tomato. Then again, I am ranting over just a "tomato" (or missing tomato). The sandwich will do for now, but come on Rosina...you have loyal patrons...these tomato slices are a joke and frankly, it is kind of insulting for the price of the sandwich! P.S. Oh delicious sammies and paninis, thy home doth lie in Rosina Gourmet! Hot damn, these people know how to make a sandwich. I've had the Honey-Orange BBQ Chicken and the Mediterranean Chicken: both were mouth-watering and on-point...and they should be for the price. Sandwich and a bag of chips? You're coming out around $12 per person, without a drink. Add a beverage and it's more like $15. As you can see though, the prices can't keep me away from those sandwiches. The Honey-Orange BBQ Chicken was crispy juicy fried chicken tossed in a tangy sauce with Swiss on ciabatta. I'm not a huge orange-chicken fan, but this thing is the bees knees! And the Mediterranean Chicken? To die for. Tender marinated grilled chicken with goat cheese and greens on baguette. Rosina really knows how to pair flavor and texture. Combine that with top execution and high quality ingredients, and the price point becomes a lot easier to swallow. While I can't afford it every day, I'll continue to treat myself to their gourmet sandwiches when I deserve a lunchtime reward. #treatyoself read more

Rosina once gave generous side portions of pasta salad with its sandwiches for customers dining in, but the current portions are very meager. One of my go-to's for lunch downtown. Everything I have ever had here is great, with standouts being the fried chicken sandwich w orange BBQ, and the rustic italian. Only complaint is the prices are a bit high if you are regularly grabbing lunch out. Normally a sandwich and chips will set me back around $11. read more
