The workers here are extremely rude and disrespectful. Specifically the guy with glasses and dreads. First, you come in and they're staring at you as if you're an alien ( they weren't even busy ) and act like it's a hassle to do their job. All I wanted was a cookie. There was no preparation for anything that I wanted. I wanted to walk up to the counter pick up a cookie, pay for it and leave. The cashier walks up and asks if the cookies are all I want. I say yes. His response, "tip me first". I ask what he's talking about. He says, "in order for the tip to go through you have to include the tip first". Dude, I bought a premade cookie. You didn't perform any kind of service. You walked up to the cash register... which is your job and rung up a cookie that I picked up and placed on the counter. Why do you automatically 'deserve' a tip for this? I see why Potbelly went out of business in other states. It is similar in that low-grade, fast food quality of a chain/franchise but WORSE than its closest competitor Subway. I have passed by this location before and never saw patrons inside, always looked empty. I stopped by for the first time tonight to try out, 3 men were getting their order so I thought it must not be so bad. Service was unfriendly and they have such limited options. You get white or wheat bread out of a plastic bag. I chose turkey with swiss and all the veggies: lettuce tomatoes onions pickles.... That's literally it as far as options. So I decided to add hot peppers too (but they are TOO SPICY). I couldn't even see how my sandwich was being made behind their set up. Bread was borderline stale, very dry. I think Subway offers fresher bread. The deli meat was so paper thin and of no substance. There's nothing special about this place. Measly amount of sandwich fillings inside. Pictures speak louder than words so look at the pics here and you'll know. Don't waste your money $8.20 for a 9"sub that won't leave you full or happy. read more

Terribly rude employees. Work in the area and have been to this Potbelly twice and have also been to the one in Annapolis over a dozen times. Have had food almost thrown at me, as they hand it over the counter. They greet you with "what do you want?". Another restaurant that doesn't train their employees on actual ADA compliancy with another ignorant employee demanding that they definitely know all the laws when they completely do not. James wouldn't even look at my phone when I tried to pull ADA laws up to show him that my service dog is absolutely not required to have paperwork nor is he allowed to ask for paperwork. One is my favorite restaurants. I have been eating here for around 6 years. Potbelly is definitely my favorite place to get a good sandwich. Also, their milkshakes are really good! My usual order is a Big Ham and Cheese on white bread with cheddar cheese and lettuce. Then I also order a vanilla shake. Sometime I get chips but the Big sandwiches are pretty filling, 9 inches long, which is the perfect size for a sandwich in my opinion. The staff here are really nice as well. (In case anyone was wondering, the milkshakes come in four flavors, Vanilla, Chocolate, Coffee, and Oreo) Whenever you order a shake, the employee shouts, [shake flavor] Shake! This is my honest opinion. I have eaten here for a very long time and don't plan on stopping. I just went back to visit Baltimore and was surprised to see that the Charles Village area is slowly upgrading. It's strong competition for the favorite Uni Market, and most definitely an upgrade from the Subway down the street. I had the Wreck, which was delicious and the "Big" size is decently filling. The toasted bread and warm meat made it very easy to eat. I asked for pickles, and I guess the waitress heard me wrong, so she gave me a whole pickle, quartered. Seating is a bit tight inside, but enough space. Definitely not for a romantic evening though. The menu is very visible and as you move down the line, you can easily see which toppings and condiments you can choose from. It's a really nice sandwich shop for a collegetown. Since it is new, I hope they always keep the quality as if they just opened. read more

This Potbelly is pretty much the same as all of the ones I've been to in D.C., with one exception; I have NEVER seen a line in here, ever. As a matter of fact, I've never even seen it terribly busy in here, not like in Chipotle down the street. Now, I don't know if people consider that good or bad as a rule - for me, I love it because I don't have to dodge idiots while I'm trying to enjoy a relaxing lunch. If you like quiet atmosphere, this place will serve you just fine. Prices are pretty good. I had a chicken salad salad (without the cranberries) and there was a fair amount of food for a tiny amount of money. I was good and filled up after it was said and done - again, not out of the ordinary for a Potbelly. Definitely recommended. The salads are particularly delicious (chicken salad salad and Farmhouse are the best ones). Tip for Diabetics: The salads (mostly) are A-OK here. Some things you may want to leave off, such as dried cranberries for the chicken salad, unless you can handle them. The multigrain bread is good. the meatball sub could have had more marinara sauce. the regular size was perfect - not too big, not too small. Avoid this location. They've got consistently rude people working here. I know because I live in the area and come often. In fact I love the potbelly sandwich chain but this stores management needs to train their people in customer service. I usually go in the evenings and the staff acts like they don't want to be there, treat customers like they shouldn't be there and make it a depressing experience. What prompted me to write this review is not only rudeness but tonight I was genuinely concerned about the safety of the food. It wasn't busy today. I ordered and paid for an uptown salad within one minute of walking in and then they straight up forgot that I had ordered something. Took them about fifteen minutes to realize they missed an order. No apologies, just, 'what do you want?' 'did you order?' There was literally nobody in line. They even helped someone who walked in through the door ten minutes later before they asked me what I wanted. While I was waiting, I heard one staff, who looks and dresses like lil wayne, say she felt sick and was sweating profusely after coming out of the bathroom. I just asked for my money back, wasted fifteen minutes and probably saved myself from getting sick from unclean food. This place isn't what it used to be. I went to this location on Monday and this was the first time I have ever eaten at a potbellys restaurant. I ordered the Italian cold cut and my boyfriend had the wreck sub we had the Mac and cheese with bacon and mushrooms two bags of chips and a soda. The food was very tasty but lacked abundance of protein. It tasted like subway with less meat. The mac and cheese was different, made with a white cheddar kind of sauce and kinda flavorless. I couldn't imagine eating it with out the bacon. That was the pastas saving grace. The staff was very polite but they did not greet us when we came in and by not welcoming us we did not know what side of the counter to place our order. So that was not that fun, standing there wondering and no one was offering guidance. Oh, my God! This place is absolutely AMAZING! I've loved Potbelly's since I lived in Chicago, but this location in particular is by far, THE BEST. They greet you from the door with an enthusiastic, "hello!", the line moves quickly, the sandwich makers are attentive, the food is simple but done well, and everyone seems to really want to be there to make your experience as great as possible. I know, I know, it's just a sandwich shop, but it's a welcomed gem among the drab eateries that line Saint Paul. It just opened up so they're working out the kinks with the staff, and getting into a groove, but that's to be expected. And I might add, that it's smoothing out nicely and quickly! read more

We have ordered plenty of times from this location, but never have we experienced what we are going through right now. We placed an online order to be delivered. Our food was supposedly made and dropped off, but we never got it. We called and they remade it and said they were dropping it off again. It's been almost three hours and we still don't have our food. We work 3 minutes away and needed food for our meeting. This is unprofessional, ridiculous, and they still cannot figure out where we are. DO NOT EVER ORDER DELIVERY FROM HERE. Not to mention, my colleague was given to a "manager", but then later, he was given to a different manager. This is LUDICROUS. read more

Potbelly is a great choice when you want a sandwich with a little more flare than Subway. We always get the Wreck: salami, roast beef, ham, turkey and one of their salads. The sandwich is toasted and there are a variety of toppings. As a warning: if you get all the toppings (we usually do) or just like a lot of the toppings, the sandwich can get VERY WET. We are huge fans of sauce but the combo of mayo, mustard, and oil can be too much. So one tip is to ask for less of whatever you want. The salads are hearty and we usually get the cobb. As a warning, the tomatoes are pretty smushy quality and every time I get the salad, I pick out the tomatoes even though I normally love tomatoes. They also have soft cookies by the register and they are actually a great way to finish lunch. The employees working there are very pleasant and the line moves quickly because they are very well staffed. read more

For some reason this place is never crowded. Its a chain. Its nothing fancy or amazing. As far as chains go, its pretty decent and reasonably priced. I nearly always order a wreck with nearly everything on it. Its always perfect. Great selection of salads or sandwiches. They also carry soup, which is CLUTCH in the winter months. If you're still eating at subway, go ahead and upgrade yourself. I love this place; I can get a sandwich a drink, chips and cookies then use the wifi to study or surf the same way I would in starbucks without having to deal with the crowds or noise level. read more
