Stephanie was my cashier read the comment to that I could not hold the lipstick even though I paid it and I'm a buying gas and I've shopped her several times before. It was a five dollar lipstick that I asked to look at and she said she couldn't let me hold it how do you decide on the color you like if you can't hold it and look at it did you think I put it on? I took pretty serious offense when I've spent hundreds of dollars at the store at one time on several different occasions for someone to tell me I could not hold the lipstick it's bad enough it's behind the cage then when I ask her to roll it up he's going to buy a lipstick that they haven't even opened it up and looked at it bad bad bad customer service. The least you could've done was let me put her hand towards my eyes cause I couldn't see the color. Rude. read more

I always come here on Tuesdays for believe it or not for food !!! Today, I eschewed a new planter and went directly to this aisle of goodies... found great prices for pickled beets, pasta sauce and a Mediterranean mixture similar to ratatouille. Well, unfortunately, an accident occurred and my Mediterranean melange fell out of my cart whilst I was on line to pay! I was horrified and a bit upset bc it got all over my red suede shoes... But, everyone was so kind and dealt with it with a smile! I was grateful and very embarrassed! I support this neighborhood branch as well as the one on Sepulveda Blvd. Great prices and great service! Post holiday I expected it to be bare but it still had some nice selections. It seemed like a smaller location. I found some really nice/good quality sweaters on the sale racks for $10. Everyone was pleasant from cashier to the security. I would definitely come back. read more

If you're having an Amazon package delivered at this store, always make sure it's delivered INSIDE the locker. If the delivery person can't do that for whatever reason, have it delivered elsewhere. NEVER let the delivery guy leave your package outside the locker. Otherwise, it will most likely get stolen or lost. Even if you call the store and ask them to check camera footage for you, they'll tell you the camera doesn't cover that area of the store (which is odd because that's one of the main areas of the store). That happened to me. But thankfully, Amazon gave me a free replacement. I'm giving it 2 stars because I find OK products here for a fair price. read more

First and foremost, there's a bunch of employees that look at you like you're going in there to steal just because you are dressed in sweatpants and a band T-shirt, which is understandable because Ross. What really irked me is that there is no customer service at all. I'm literally waiting in line to get attended and some lady comes and just because she has a return, cuts in front of me. The person attending me associate number 234-6358 does not even bother to say anything just proceeds to attend the person as if nothing. I don't understand what's the whole purpose of standing in line for you to just let somebody cut in line and you just attend them and this is coming from somebody who works customer service in West Hollywood. And people wonder where people would rather shop online because of people like this. Honestly, I would just suggest going to a different Ross or just go to Marshalls. This is the worst store I've ever been too. Don't get me wrong - good selection of clothes, etc. But the people that work there are just plain f****d. I had a cart full of clothes to try on but you can only take 8 items in at a time. I tried on my first two rounds of 8 items. Went to try on my third round and the kid manning the dressing room told me I didn't have. ugh time left because he closes the dressing room at 7:00 (because he has to go home). At this point it's about 7:05 .. I think I starting trying things on about 6:50-6:55 and he never said a word to me until the 3rd round. He's also still letting other people in at this point. I'm rushing to try on the rest of my stuff as a courtesy to the kid .. come out with my shoes off so I can quickly try on my last 5 items. I'm standing at my cart .. without shoes .. with my last 5 items and he won't let me in. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? This wasn't new - he knew how much stuff I had and never said a word until I was standing there half dressed with 5 more items. understand not letting one new in but the fact he just cut me off mid trying on was the worst customer service I've ever seen. I ended up just putting my shoes back on and leaving my cart full of probably more than $100 worth of clothes in the middle of the store. I'm not giving this place .. or any Ross .. a penny. I'm not one to EVER ask to speak to a manager but this was warranted and her response was 'oh yeah he should have informed you. Worst costumer service I've witnessed all my other complaints are mild to this lady that I had to deal with today. I went to Ross to get a few things and when checking out this lady wanted to toss my items and the money. Like if you don't like your job stay you butt at home. I will never go to this Ross again. Went to go get some doggy stuff.. bed.. leash.. toys.. clothes.. they have it all. :] We bought a retractable leash set that comes with wipes for $7! (at Petco, just the leash was $20+), a toy for our baby for $4 (the same brand they sell at Petco for $15+), a bed for $15 (doggy bone shaped one), and a jacket for $10. woohoo! I always think Yelpers are too harsh on Ross Dress for Less stores. I mean, what do you even expect? It's Ross, for lord's sake. I come here to get cheap brand-name stuff and get out. That said, this one is really unextraordinary. The parking lot is fine--lots of parking relative to LA. You actually go up an elevator to enter, which I find slightly interesting, I suppose. You must be having so much fun reading this tedious review. Anyways, I shop in the mens' section, and the quality of the items was not fantastic compared to some other locations I've been to. When I say quality, I mean the general availability of the brands we know and love, not some random brands that even Ken Jennings has never heard of. The shoes were pretty mediocre, but it's not like Ross is a great place to find shoes anyways. It was mostly stuff I've seen at other Ross locations anyways. The socks were kind of lacking, and the hat selection was actually pretty good. The dress shirt selection was pretty limited, too--especially for sizes like 14-14 1/2. The belts weren't as plentiful, and the ties were pretty lame. I'm saying this as a fan of Ross, and as a fan of their usual selection of these goods. Anyways, the staff and security are all really nice. I just wouldn't go out of your way to go here, which is precisely what I did. I'll take "go to a different Ross" for $400, Alex. read more

Terrible service. Parking is weird and you can't take the baskets outside the store. I purchased many items so I Talked to the manager to see if he could offer help to my car and was denied. Ask if I could take the little basket and offered to leave my license so I would definitely return and was denied. I shouldn't have to work that hard. So frustrating, never again. read more

Man we all know Ross Dress for Less is a steal. I always come up on great deals whenever I randomly drop in. They have it all (Target who?). They have everything from underwear to dress shirts this is easily one of my favor to bargain stores to fall into. They have some nice home decor too. You can get all the candles, throw pillows and blankets, bedding and even little random furnishings. I love Ross. Come through and revamp your closet and your apt/home. read more

This is 4 stars, simply because this store may not have as much merchandise as many other Ross' stores, but it's definitely maintained by the staff in a really good way. Shelves are not overcrowded with stuff, it's all neatly displayed. I'm thinking this Ross is on Venice but one actually has to drive up to the parking area to enter the store, it's not on ground level so some people might not bother. Of all the Ross stores I've seen in a few days, this one is the most neatly organize. Just sayin' read more

Obviously, this place is a pit. However, it's in walking distance of my apartment, so it's inevitable that I will find myself here from time to time. The store is a complete disaster, and customer service is unheard of. The employees are not just unhelpful, but usually nasty and unpleasant. Whenever I come here, I leave swearing under my breath. Oh, and it's always crowded, and lines are always long. But damn, it's useful. I have beautiful, environmentally-friendly, bamboo sheets that I got for around $15. I don't know why you'd buy kitchenware elsewhere-- I got a stainless steel roasting pan for $10 a few days before Thanksgiving, a fancy pizza pan for $7, not to mention countless gadgets for under a fiver. And, now, this is the true miracle. I am in a wedding out-of-town next week. Last week, the bride announced that the bridesmaids needed to find "brown, cream or cornflower blue shell jewelry." I thought, hell, let's just walk on over to Ross and see what they've got. And of course, I found a lovely Nine West shell necklace w/ matching earrings for $3.99. Can't hardly complain about that! I also found shoes for the wedding, $12. I have to say though, that I have had virtually no luck finding clothes. There's just way too much stuff, and too many items are in unwearable condition. I prefer Loehmann's, Nordstrom Rack & TJ Maxx for my discount clothing needs, but you can't beat Ross for discount junk. read more

I love Ross. But not all Ross Stores are created equal. This one is within walking distance, so I visit it most often. I don't make purchases often, though, because there is always a long line. Even if there aren't many people in line (which there usually are) there is a wait. I've gone twice in a week in an attempt to buy a pair of hiking shoes at a great price. Twice I walked out in frustration. It was the last pair, but no sale is great enough to wait 30 minutes in line. The selection is okay. read more

I need to stay away from Ross... I just buy too much random stuff that I never knew I needed. For example: I bought this really cool Guiness sign that I didn't know I needed but really loved when I found it for $10 here. Other things I don't need include new basketball shorts (Adidas for like $15) or an exercise ball ... wait actually that was a good buy. In Sum: Ross = good deals on stuff. Be careful to check your clothes/merchandise for loose threads, etc. though b/c I once bought a bed sheet + shorts here and they both had loose threads so I returned them. Ross always drives me crazy. Both because I love it and hate it. It's always a huge mess, disorganized, weird sizes, and difficult to navigate. But the prices are awesome, and as long as you don't plan on wearing it long-term, (they're not high-quality clothes) you can find some decent stuff. What I love about Places like Ross, and TJ Maxx and Marshalls, and Mervyns, are the hunt. You dig around looking for the right size, or style, or color, and then try it on, hoping it'll fit. This particular Ross, though, I haven't had a huge amount of luck. I went there shopping with a friend of mine, and while I found one pair of jeans for him, and a dress for myself, we had to dig for longer than I wanted, or had patience for. I've never in my life been treated like a criminal for opening a rug or two. How are we supposed to know what they even look like if we can't open them to look at them. I was in there looking for an area rug and they are all balled up on shelves according to no rhyme or reason. I would take one or two down, open them, then fold them back up and try a couple more. However there were already about 20 on the floor but not because of me! Three different employees started circling me but they weren't saying anything and finally I was like "why are you guys swarming me?" And they wouldn't say anything they were like sharks. Then another one came and I was like "I'm just looking for a rug real quick these were already on the floor I didn't do that". Then another one was badgering me to pick all these rugs up I didn't even take down. Finally I was like "why are you guys stalking me" . One of them previewed to tell me 5 or six times I'm not even allowed to inform any at all. This place is weird. I've been to so many different rosses and have never experienced this kind of weird behavior. It's not like I was just tearing the store apart. I was barely even making a dent. She said I had to go back to that store, I told her that I did not have to go back to that store, I was at this store now and that this store needed to contact the other store so they can view the cameras and confirm the item, I called Corporate to ask if this was protocol, Luisa in Corporate said she didn't know the protocol but she agrees that I should not be inconvenienced and asked to go back to the other store when the employees can just call the other store which made sense, I informed Luisa that I'm assuming that this store's employees and the Manager feel they are entitled to treat me with bad customer service because I come to this store often and return items that I've changed my mind on keeping, she said that's still not a good reason to deny me service as a customer.
