I went to return an item I bought online to receive a credit on my credit card. I was told it was not returnable. I confirmed it with his store yesterday and another store as well. Both stores said it was returnable. I asked for a confirmation receipt and was told it would be emailed to me. I took a picture of their screen and the manager's name tag for my confirmation. I never received an email. 3 hours later, I called and spoke to the manager, Hideo and he accused me of cheating him out of my money which is not true whatsoever. I just asked for a receipt which is required by law at a customer's request. I am humiliated by the attitude of the manager. There is a breakdown in communication with their return policies and what's on the computer. I asked if his regional manager is available and he refused to answer me. read more

Their Tupperware selection was great and other household items that you can snag here. They have all sizes of containers and organizing bins for anything you can imagine. Need a container? From 3 inches square to 40" ? Well, the Container Store has it. I walked in and immediately saw exactly the containers I was looking for. It is a trip to check out everything, so many different shapes and sizes, really something for everyone. I was looking for small containers for my bathroom and found exactly what I needed within 5 minutes of entering the store. Enormous place. Hope they continue to stay in business. I had an extremely frustrating experience at the Container Store in Century City yesterday that I want to share, as it well demonstrates the very low level of customer service at this store. I was going there to pick up an online order and had sent the "I'm here" response to their email about 15 minutes prior to arriving at the store. When I got there, I went to the "pick up counter" and saw several bags with orders in them waiting to be picked up. I could see that one of the bags had my order in it. I stood there and waited for someone to help me. Right next to the counter was an employee who was essentially doing nothing, yet ignored me for 3 to 4 minutes while I stood there. He finally asked me what I needed and I told him I was there to pick up an order. He asked me how long ago I had replied to the email and I told him it had been about 15 minutes. Without even looking at the bags already at the counter, he said my order would not be there yet and I had to wait until someone brought it out. And then he just walked away. There was another employee at the cash register finishing up with a customer. At that point, I had been waiting there for about 10 minutes and started getting a little frustrated because I knew that bag on the counter was mine. I touched the outside of the bag so that I could see the name on it, and the employee at the cash register snapped at me and said "that bag belongs to someone else, do not touch it!" and then turned away. I was in shock that she had actually yelled at me. I told her I saw my order number on the bag. She said nothing and ignored me for another five minutes. Finally, she walked over and looked at the bag and realized that it was, indeed, my order. She silently handed me the bag without any apologies. Neither of the two employees had taken the 2 seconds required to just look at the bag to see if it was mine. On top of that, they were both incredibly rude. (Of note, there was no one in line at the register and very few customers in the store at time). The whole experience was appalling. This store clearly needs to review with its employees the meaning of good customer service and basic common curtesy. read more

We live between here and the Pasadena location, but usually go to the other spot. Yesterday we came here on a whim and although we got what we needed, it was a nightmare due to the parking. When shopping, I realized that we were parked on the other side of the mall and it might be difficult with a lot of bulky items, so I tried to gain insight proactively re the loading and parking situation and they acted like they've never been asked that before. The manager, "Chris G", was pretty condescending and short when I was speaking with him attempting to get clarity of how to navigate. He kept on repeating himself "P1, blue zone" but that meant nothing. Are there other colors that are next to it? Is there an anchor store signage so we can look out for that's nearby? Would it be easier if we exited the mall and came back in at a certain street? A little bit of additional context, along with a more respectful demeanor, would've been helpful, including mentioning that there is an elevator a stones throw away from the entrance (only learned of this when checking out). I will only visit the Pasadena location moving forward. They don't have the best parking situation either but at least you can drive up on the side and load without confusion or the need of consultation. read more

I'm so disappointed. I wish I had something good to say about this store/location. I have been a loyal container store customer for many years. I shop there for myself and all of my clients. 8 or 9 years ago I noticed that the stores weren't as neat and orderly as they were in the past. In 2020, I don't think they were ready for the organizing/Marie Kondoization that occurred during the pandemic. Fast forward to yesterday when I saw a noticeable change since I was there just a month ago. I'm not sure whether it's tariff related or other issues but the store was a depleted mess. They were completely out of basics like pant hangers and most gift wrap (which they were famous for). I really hope they can get back on their feet. There is NO other store that could fill the void if they don't. read more

Wonderful home goods store for all your organizing needs! I had a great experience at The Container Store. Our associate helped us find a new trash can. He was very knowledgable about the products. They did not have the trash can we wanted available in store, only the display one. No worries at all. We were offered to have it shipped to our home free of charge with a small discount as well. I had a very disappointing experience at this location. My friends and I came in just to shop for a container, but instead of being helped, we were confronted by an employee. She walked over to us and started loudly accusing us of "dividing and conquering," which made absolutely no sense in the context of what we were doing. We were simply browsing the store like normal customers. The way she approached us was aggressive and unprofessional, and it completely ruined the shopping trip. We felt embarrassed and uncomfortable, and no other staff stepped in to correct the situation. This is not the type of behavior I expect from a professional retail environment. Endless amount of storage options. I always feel like I need to redecorate my home whenever I come here. The store is well laid out and easy to shop. Their products are priced higher than Amazon and IKEA but it's more convenient to shop in person and see how containers and storage pieces go together. read more

Most disorganized pickup service at this store. I went to pick up some Elfa shelves and asked for help carrying them to my car. They directed me to a pickup spot but gave no further instructions. After relying on unclear email instructions to find a "blue phone" that didn't exist, I sent my family into the store. They spent over 30 minutes trying to locate my order, despite me confirming it 20 minutes prior, and even paused to help other customers, making us wait longer. After nearly an hour, I had to go back in myself to speak to the manager, who promised a follow-up that never happened. The staff dropped off my shelves and left without taking my contact info. I like that the Container Store is consistent nationwide. I love their variety of organization products you need and never knew you needed. I don't like the fact that I never seem to utilize my organization products perfectly like an IKEA catalog. I always feel like I bought more stuff for my stuff.....but I guess that's more of a review of me. Organize your thoughts Meredith! This store is in an elevated, outdoor mall. Parking is underground. Being clever little task organizers, they anticipated the need to haul purchases and/or returns from the store to your vehicle & vice-versa. You'll find Container Store-blue stalls filled with carts on each parking level near the elevator closest to the store entrance. They are obviously geniuses. It is futile to resist spending Costco-level-American-dollas during your visit. read more

I placed an order for an item to pick up in their store in Century City on Santa Monica Blvd. and Century Park West. I placed this order December 7th of 2025. Today is January 5, 2026 and I get an email a couple of days ago letting me know that my order has been delayed so I called the CONTAINER STORE to find out what's going on and all they can tell me is that their trucks have not come to their warehouse to pick up the items that need to be shipped to their store in Century City. They used to be a very efficient store back in 2001 and they have gone downhill in the last five years. I love the CONTAINER STORE. I have bought a lot of things from them. But when they don't seem to care about you as a customer when it comes to a simple little item that you need to pick up in their store and all they do is give you the runaround. It doesn't say a whole lot about who they are as a business overall in general. read more

There's a mild hesitation I have about a store that promotes and sells items to help people store things. Im always reminded of George Carlin's comedic spiel about Americans and "stuff". We keep buying more stuff, then when we run out of room, we put it in storage, then buy more stuff. However, if you approach your stuff from an ORGANIZING perspective, then there is no other place I'd rather be. I've been a customer of this business since my days in Boston, well over two decades ago, so I'm very familiar with their wares. Recently, as I enter the minimalist stage of my life, I've been very busy as a return customer, to organize my new lifestyle. Nothing pleases me more than finding, once again, everything I need to clean up my home, from shoe and hat storage, to kitchen drawers and pantry containers. The Container Store needs to stop selling, "Richard's Moth Repellent herbal sachets." It does just the opposite. Yesterday I looked in my closet in absolute HORROR to see a "live moths farm "on the sachet and a giant hole on my new cashmere-sweater, behind the sachet, where they are feeding. Small white winged moths crawling all over. It happened to another sweater and there's holes in all my wool clothes as they migrated to other sweaters in my closet. I'm complaining to this manufacturer asap. I'm writing to warn others, don't use this product!!!! I found other reviewers on Amazon who had the same horrible experience with it !! read more

This location is FAR better than the location on Fairfax (near the LA Farmer's Market). However, high demand during COVID-19 leads to limited availability of items and poor staffing (also COVID-19 related?) leads to long check-out lines and limited availability of staff members to help. The location is tucked inside the Westfield Mall complex in Beverly Hills/Century City. There's an attached underground parking structure, which is nice, HOWEVER Container Store (or anyone else I think) DOES NOT validate parking. This location is more of a "classic" container store, where you can find organization bins, and systems to help you store and organize items throughout your house. They do have a pretty substantial closet section, but the majority of the store is still containers (unlike the Fairfax location which is mostly closet organization). As far as "a container store" I think this is the nicest location that I've been to in the Los Angeles area (the one in Pasadena BLOWS THEM ALL OUT OF THE WATER though!!!). And I think in usual times this location would probably rate 4 stars (having to pay for parking is always a big negative for me). However, due to COVID-19 (I guess) this store has VERY LIMITED selection of certain items. Apparently everyone who is shopping at the container store is using this time to organize their homes. So they are sold out of a lot of items and entire shelves can just be empty. ALSO, there are very few store employees working at any given time (probably a COVID restriction). So that means there's only one person working the register so the check-out line becomes very long, very quickly. Also it's going to be basically impossible to find anyone to help you find a particular item or offer suggestions. Add all of this to the fact that the Container Store is ALREADY pretty expensive and it adds up to a less than stellar shopping experience. Love this store. This is the best location in Los Angeles. It's just tough to give it 4-5 stars as it currently is. read more

For a s(h)elf-confessed shopophobic- this was a good experience with a super helpful lady when I was, as ever, pressed for time. I successfully assembled what was purchased- I swore about five times which is average- and I'm very happy with the result thus far. Star lost not for them- but for the fact that I could not for the life of me find my car afterwards. This was a deeply embarrassing moment in time, wandering about looking vague of mind, trying to trigger the alarm on my key to no avail. So yes, mark the spot on Waze, take a photo, use a ball of string or a loaf of bread and you'll be golden. Or maybe just park in their designated area which is P1 Blue. Yep. The Container Store did a great job of keeping me informed both via email and text messages on the status of my order and when the item finally arrived, I was able to schedule a pick up appointment. Shortly after, I received a very detailed email with clear instructions on where to go for curbside pick up. As soon as I arrived, I clicked on a link that The Container Store had previously sent me and less than 5 minutes later, a store employee arrived at my car carrying my bookcase. However, I had the one and only worst customer service here at the Century City location. There were two registers, and a salesperson Donna was looking at the ceiling for a while. I decided to give her a chance for 3 minutes and I couldn't stand more. I went up to the register and asked Excuse me. She ignored me so I asked again. We needed a few organization bins and decided to come here. They literally have everything organization-related that you can think of, but it comes at a price. Some of the stuff is reasonable priced but some of it is pretty expensive. Like $30 for a small plastic bin. Their staff was great and very friendly. Hello All- Yesterday, I went to the Container Store at the Farmers' Market to pick up some trash bags, they were sold out as they are remodeling and low on inventory so they sent me over to the Century City Mall location. I went in an explained to the sales associate that their should be trash bags, but I wasn't sure if it was the box with 60 or the bag of 20 (which I perfered) she looked and me and said "and" which kind of caught me off guard. I repeated myself, feeling kinda weird like what the hell? She said I think there is a box over here do you want them or no? I said sure and bought the box of 60. Just not very friendly at all. I am asking for help and the response is "and" she might as well have said "so what"? I will stick to the Container Store at the Farmers' Market or just order stuff online.
