I have the worst experience with the cashier Maya her attitude is very unprofessional, rude. She didn't greet the customer, her face was grumpy, she caught my finger in the clothes hangers and didn't apologize and ask how is the manager but she didn't care at all. Store is more organized, employees there - nice middle aged lady in dressing room and security were courteous and keeping an eye out for the store as well as treating customers with regard. This review is on an employee there- Lexie, the loss prevention guy. I finally asked a cashier for his name today as every time I go to Ross Lexie is so friendly and always has a big smile to share. He seems to have his finger on the pulse of that store without making people feel watched. I hired people for a clinic for 20 years and it was rare to find someone with such a warmth about them. Since we are coming out of COVID and like many stores in our area it is over shopped by other communities patrons. Horrible place to shop. First they have almost nothing in the store. They haven't restocked for months. I went to Ross with both my boys and we each bought something. The cashier that helped us was very unprofessional and a thief. My kids and I went with a certain amount of money and she soled $10 from me. My purchase was of $35.51 and my stupid self for helping out the cashier I handed her $45.51 so she wouldn't have to give me broken Change. So she took my money without counting it and closed the register, I looked at her and said you forgot to give me my change, then she said oops I'm sorry and then she stood there and looked at me and said no but you only gave me $35.51 and I told her, how can you not remember I gave you $45.51. Well to make my story short she denied it all at long. They told me they where going to play the camera. They said they can see that I gave her that money. It's a lie, cause I told them to let me see and it clearly shows nothing. The manager Rudy is the rudest person for years at that store. They've done this many times to my mother and to some friends of mine. They are all scammers! Im sure the keep the extra money they take from customers to split it within each other. The manager instead of taking the customers side and apologizing to me for giving me the worst shopping experience ever. He just kept ignoring me, I kept telling him how much money both my boys and I had and he just kept ignoring me. I've spent thousands of dollars at that same Ross store for years. I've taken my mother, my in-laws that come on every a year from another country just to buy clothes there. I've never ever had this happens to me. When they give me extra change or they under charge me I make sure to be honest and let them know. Now mind you they never once tried to contact me by looking up the transaction number and the name of the credit card and find my name in the phone book. No! I had to call them ALL 3 TIMES and drive back down at my own expense. This evening I talked to the store manager, Rudy. She said there is nothing she can do about it. She said "the employees get busy on the weekends and they get distracted and sometimes forget to give the customers all their bags". I said the least she could do is offer me a free bottle of water for me having to drive back down there for their error (3rd time,). She said "we to can't do anything for our customers". I explained to her this has happened multiple times and they have been large purchases over $500 each time. I said she might want to encourage your customers to come back and spend their money at your store, given the rate of retail stores closing. I told her that given this is the 3rd time this is happened that I should at least be given a discount on my next purchase. She said she can't do that. This type of ridiculous behavior is why I won't walk in that store again. I shop a lot and I make large purchases. I shop at this place a lot and never had such disrespect from an employee! She is a younger looking Mexican last with very curly hair and always wears it in a braid! There was a long line and a return walked up and she took them in an instant. As the line is frustrated for the long wait and only 2 checkers. I had a brand new pair of Jeans that had the tags, but were from a different ROSS store. I asked to exchange them for a store credit or something of equal CURRENT value. The young guy doing returns told me they do not accept exchanges from a different ROSS store. I even had the receipt in the pocket, but according to him, it didn't matter. I ended up just donating the pants. A few months later, I spoke to an employee at another ROSS location and the info they gave me regarding exchanges was a complete different policy. The employee at this particular location told me all ROSS stores accept merchandise bought within their store chains. What bothers me most is that the employee (male) at this store in Yucaipa had an attitude problem. Hey, I used to work retail and I give the people some slack when they deal with me, but this employee was not very nice, AND didn't know his own company policy. The middle aged woman with short hair that is usually working at changing room is too rude. She looked like a boss to me while I'm a customer at her store. I got a 2 blouses to try on. I stood and waited around 5 minutes in front of changing room until she came over. From the far, she yelled at me "hang the clothes on the rack" with her unpleasant face. After fitting my blouses, I decided to get 1, return 1. I forgot to leave a hanger in fitting room, and she raised her voice "do you have hanger? Where is it?", i said "ooop..it's in the room", and then with horrible face she said "go to get it for me". All right, I came back inside to get hanger for her, and then I walk straight to cashier without looking at her. I don't want her unpleasant face to ruin my day. Nowadays, it's not easy to find a job. When you have a job to work, please work it with your enthusiasm. The girl with the "purple" hair, never greeted us, never said thank you, never said a word to the 3 people ahead of us either, didn't even know if she was open her light was Off but then again there was a huge line and 1 checker we figured we would try. It's Saturday afternoon with plenty of people out and about shopping. This place has seven registers and only two open, one of those is a return/exchange line. So if someone with a return/exchange will get served faster than anyone else. Should look at having more registers open during peak times. read more

I shop at this Ross probably a couple times a month, so we're always giving them business. But today I was there with my 9 month old and I had to use the restroom so I put my cart to the side in the hallway so it wouldn't be in the way and as I was grabbing my child the middle aged woman with short hair that is usually working the changing rooms comes over to me and tells me I can't take my cart in the restroom,(obviously I see the giant poll that's sticking out of the top of the cart that makes it so you can't anyway) I try to explain I'm just trying to get out of people's way as she grabs the cart while I'm still trying to grab my diaper bag out of it and takes it out to the middle of the aisle where people can pick through it, another reason I was trying to get it out of the way. My point being the woman was extremely rude and was insinuating I was trying to steal... I understand that maybe she was trying to do her job but it doesn't need to be in a manner where you are insulting customers. I don't appreciate being berated at a store that I shop at regularly!
