I purchased an estate piece online for a significant amount of money - it was a pendant with a gold chain. The gold chain broke within 3 weeks. In order to fix it, they wanted me to send the entire piece back. I refused, since it was only the chain that was broken. I didn't want to risk sending such a valuable pendant back and forth in the post when it was completely unnecessary. Ross-Simons customer support said they couldn't help me then - it was all or nothing, which was ludicrous. I had to take the chain to a local jeweler to repair. They need to rethink their philosophy on customer support and make their customers happy, especially those that spend a lot of money consistently at their store. Too bad, too. I'm very disappointed with this jewerly company . They make the Internet pictures look so elegant however when the products come in the description is way off . They don't provide free return unless you are a member which they charge you $95 to become a member. That is absolutely ridicules. When you call the customer service line they put you on hold for minutes and the phone gets discounted . I have to keep calling back to solve my issue . What else Um , oh they inform you they have a 50 coupon that they allow you to use on your next purchase but never send it . I will no no longer will be ordering anything from them again . Bad quality over prices. Bad customer service; unprofessional and without a doubt they only see $$$$ signs. Heartless as they rip you off for the hard-earned money no matter how you got it or are getting it. They hire amateurs for employees that don't know karats from carrots. I had a bracelet from them that I only had 2 months and broke. They gave me a partial refund. I purchased a new one giving them a second chance. That one broke within 7 months. I contacted them they said send it back and they could either repair or give me a refund. I shipped it back and they sent me a new bracelet. Upon opening it I could bend the gold with my finger nail. I contacted them for a refund. They said they would give me store credit and that's the best they could do. I called they hung up on me the first time. Second time I got through the lady seemed annoyed with me. I finally got to speak to a "manager" and he basically said sorry a store credit was the best he could do. So now I've spent $500 don't have a bracelet and I don't want anything else from them due to quality. I thought I was buying a piece that could be passed down to my daughter but the supervisor said their stuff is only made to last about 6 months. Seems unacceptable to me. Definition of " hoop" is " circular" 1-I did get a courtesy return label but 2- I only returned because the earrings were advertised as hoops. Hoops, by definition, are circular. The actual earrings were oval shaped as opposed to round. While the rep stated that the photo was accurate, the earrings did not appear oval in the photo in my opinion. Stopped in to have a few items cleaned and maybe appraised and to purchase a gift for my best friends 60th birthday. I first approached young woman and started to explain why I had come. I showed her the piece I wanted steamed cleaned and she deferred to another woman, who said it was impossible to do, that they could not possibly assume the liability for breakage and speaking so quickly and condescendingly that I decided this was not the store for me. It would have been nice to have been asked how they could help me...but it didn't happen. Just left the Warwick, RI store did not feel welcomed at all from the moment i entered the establishment. The gentleman that waited on me did not seem the least bit interested in what I was asking him for although I did make what I consider a rather large purchase. Was here to get a set of diamond rings and earrings. They didn't have too much selection (for my price range) but i did end up finding ones i liked! Was very excited to try them on and they are kept well till this day. The service could improve in terms of kindness and efficiency. It took awhile for them to enter in our information in their system and they weren't very motivated to show bunch of rings for me to try until they got the sense that I was there to really purchase something. read more

They have a very wide variety of jewelry, some more of a promotional nature price and quality wise, and other that is truly fine jewelry. I have bought some of both and my wife has enjoyed them. Just getting started with the engagement ring process so we've visited a few stores, both local and big box stores. We're trying to get a feel of men's and women's styles. I did NOT feel pressured at all. We worked with a nice young man Dave or Daniel who didn't pressure us at all. He just helped us. That was it! He was attentive and joked around with us. In spite of it being a busy time, I received fabulous service from Angela! She showed me a number of choices in my price range, encouraged me to try them on and gave me her opinion on which she liked best, which was not the most expensive choice.She offered to wrap the gift and when I gave it to my daughter she loved it! I was a customer of RS for over 10 years until 10/31/2014 when some genius decided to out source the credit cards to Citi Bank. Even though we've been on time for monthly payments and I've purchased consistently over this 10+ year period, I was denied credit, even though our yearly income is well above what is required. Apparently customer loyalty means nothing to RS at all. I went round and round with them trying to figure out why I could not place an order for a ring after 10/31/2014. And yes, as others have stated, some of the CS reps leave A LOT to be desired in the "nice" category. I had just made three purchases from them in late September and mid October 2014 where they took my order and my money happily. Come to find out about a week after I had the marathon phone calls, I received a letter from Citi bank denying me credit due to me not making enough yearly income, really? And can anyone tell me why, RS could not see that I had been denied, or CALL SOMEONE at citibank and ask them why I could not make a purchase. And can anyone tell me why NO ONE at citibank could see that I had been denied when I called them? AGAIN, in this day and age w/ all of our technological capabilities, no one can find this info? Seriously? I did in fact receive notification from RS that the credit was going to be handled by a different company and that I MIGHT be required to reapply and that not all customers would need to. I assumed (fool that I was) since I'd been a loyal customer I would not have to go through this process. I was wrong. My husband and I were quite upset about this whole process so sent an e-mail to RS Preferred Account E-mail and received a prompt reply from a William K who is supposedly a RS Preferred Acct Representative, w/ number given 800-272-0800 assuring us that my account was good, viable, and up and running. WRONG. Funny thing is no one knows who William K is or where he got this information. Does William K exist? Or is that just a bogus name and a bogus e-mail RS sent out to get us off their back? I was on the phone for approx 2 hours one day being sent from RS to Citi Bank and back again and back again. No one wanted to get to the bottom and oddly enough, no one at either company could find me. Seriously?? No one cares at RS or Citi Bank. One crazy part of this whole fiasco was RS gave me a number to call for Citi Bank. So I called the number I was given and I was speaking w/ a rep from Citi Bank who told me they could not help but that I should call a particular number; the clincher? Wait for it.....the number this Citi Bank rep gave me was the number I was speaking to, I told her this and got the response, "Oh." So not only are they uninformed at Citi Bank, they don't even know their own phone number. Scary!!!!! I was beyond frustrated by the end of this very arduous experience and told the last person I spoke w/ at RS HQ to call me back when they found out what the issue was. Guess what? Never heard back from HQ. I find it very hard to comprehend in this day and age that a credit card company and a jewelry company cannot find a long standing customer in their system. They had my name, my address, my old card number and my SS number, yet no one on either side could find me or tell me why I could not make a purchase. REALLY??!! I did receive an e-mail from CS at RS later on, who apologized for "the inconvenience" and that a representative from Citi Bank would be calling me. You guessed correctly again - Citi Bank never called. I know, I know, you're surprised. So, I am now no longer a customer, I'm very dissatisfied with this whole set up - and the saddest thing of all? Ross Simons could care less. They have become a corporation who cares less about customer relations and rewarding customer loyalty and is more interested in the bottom line; make MORE MONEY w/ LESS OUTLAY. This terrible company will not stop sending me catalogs for over 1 year now. I call each time I get a catalog in the mail and ask to be removed from the mailing list. I am told it will be handled but I may get 2-3 more catalogs. I made 1 purchase over a year ago and the quality was so poor I immediately returned the plastic beads with a mold seam across each bead on the strand and an extremely thin coating of silver over the plastic. I have been here 3 times. I work in construction and each time have been in work clothes and looked up and down and snarled at by the staff. The last time I was so fed up with the attitude I was getting from a young sales girl, I asked to speak with the manager. I came in that day for two things, to have a repair done on my wife's wedding band purchased there previously, and to buy an estate ring I had seen online. I stareted asking the sales girl to price the repair and she said it would take at least 3 weeks for a price. When pressed she said it would be 600 dollars for the repair. What!!! The ring cost me 1100 dollars, and I was missing one stone that the sales lady said was a tenth of a carat, and No broken prongs!! I asked to speak to the manager. She seemed annoyed to be pulled away from her conversation with another associate. Long story short this woman told me to go to some jewler east providence for the repiar, that he was good and might be cheapr. She couldn't seem to wait to get me out of the door. She actually laughed in my face twice. This woman seems confused that shes working in a SALES industry, and not doing US a favor by selling jewelry. Needless to say I took the 8 thoulsand dollars I had in my pocket for the estate ring and left. And I went to that other jewler and got a great repair for 100 dollars and bought a beautiful emerald ring for our ten year anniversary. Thanks for the referral Mz. Ross Simon's manager. read more
