    Veggie Omelete

There's something super comforting about a no frills diner. Served on beige plastic and boasting extremely reasonable prices, what you order at Ross' Diner is exactly what you get - and that's a good thing. My omelet was hard cooked perfectly, the hash browns were nice and crispy and the tea nice and cold. The service was prompt despite the counter being full and I appreciated the friendly banter. Regret not trying a fried pie, but the list of flavored was impressive.

My better half and I completed business at a warehouse in Cartersville and finished in the early afternoon. I had seen reviews about Ross's Diner on Yelp so I suggested we try this diner for lunch. The diner is located in an older building a few blocks off Main St. there is ample parking in front of the restaurant. Upon entry into the diner you are propelled back in time to a classic diner from the '50s. They have only counter seating in a U shaped countertop. The wait staff quickly greeted us and asked for our drink orders. We were presented with menus and gazed at all the breakfast and lunch offerings. My better half ordered the chili dog and chili burger plate. I ordered the Steak & Gravy plate with pinto beans and turnip greens. It includes a homemade biscuit. Both of our meals were delicious diner food. While sitting at the counter, we observed that the wait staff knew the orders for most of the guests who came in after us. The majority of the diners were frequent restaurant guests and likely Cartersville locals. This was an amazing experience to behold because it is rarely encountered in today's world. The great thing was that the staff was friendly and very attentive to us. I returned a few days later and had an early breakfast that was equally good food and service. I highly recommend Ross's Diner anytime you find yourself in Cartersville!

Breakfast orders, shot of interior, some fun magazines, and my glasses. I hope I don't forget them.

This place is everything that I hope for when I think of going to a diner. People are wonderful, food is great, and the menu selections are awesome. Definitely worth the short detour off the interstate. We had breakfast and everything came out exactly as ordered. Coffee was hot, strong, and the cup magically refills itself.

Great little place with Southern charm! The customer service was excellent. The grits and eggs over easy were amazing. The biscuit was a little dry, but overall, it was a great experience. I definitely would come back.

Great breakfast. The food and service was very good. A black coffee, two eggs scrambled, country steak, grits and biscuits with gravy for under $10.00. I wish I lived closer, I would be a regular.

If you want to eat a piece of History this is the place. Went on a Saturday afternoon the Diner was extremely busy the service was exceptional and the staff great attitudes. Had the 1 and 1 there iconic dish, may not be pretty but it's flavorful and and delicious. And you certainly get get bang-for-your-buck here it's worth a try.

All the bagels were really soft and chewy, too much so for me. The service was good, and the staff are friendly (4.5/5). The interior of the restaurant is well decorated and seems like a good spot to meet up (4/5)!

My kind recommendation from a local that wants y'all to grow and succeed - invest in technology and staff training immediately. We went on a few days that was crowded and busy. This coffee and bagel shop doesn't have true competition around, so for local patrons the options are limited. By the time we got to the counter after standing in a long line, the staff had run out of printer paper to take our order. So the team decided to handwrite our order (which then led to us receiving an incorrect order on top of a long wait) Now the food itself I give it a 4/5 (this is the potential part) As for the staff & ambiance/ atmosphere: 1/5 The staff was kind but they did not have the tools to be set up for success. To the management, stop making your staff look bad. We want to support and see yall flourish so please invest in their training and better pos technology to streamline the bottleneck at the counter. Also, better coffee options wouldn't hurt. Kind regards.

When we arrived to our room the first thing I noticed was the view! We were on the ground level, so we had a nice sitting area just outside the room. Although it was too cold to sit outside, the view from inside was just as nice. Once I started looking around at the room I noticed how outdated and in need of deep cleaning it was. The carpet was stained, our bedding was stained, the wallpaper was peeling off, dirt and grime had gathered in the corners, and there was toothpaste or cleaning spray all over the bathroom mirror and sink. My side of the bed was caving in, so when I laid on my left side I rolled a bit, which makes me think maybe the mattresses need to be replaced. I will say, the pillows were comfy! That evening we ate at the restaurant where we ordered off the menu. I ordered The Falls Burger, which is your basic cheeseburger with the usual toppings - lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles, and your choice of cheese. The burger tasted like it was previously frozen, but the fries were delicious! Our waitress, McKenzie, was incredible! She was attentive and friendly and deserves recognition! We ended up back at the lodge restaurant the following evening where they were serving a buffet dinner only, no option to order off the menu. McKenzie was great once again, but unfortunately, the food was not. The buffet consisted of soup, salad, mac-n-cheese, rolls, yellow rice, black eyed peas, BBQ chicken, catfish, carrot cake, pumpkin pie, and apple pie. All of the items I ate were cold and just mediocre. You can imagine my surprise when I saw the $46 bill - $27.99 for an adult and $15.99 for a child. Absurd for the lack of options and for the cold food. (Keep in mind that the closest towns with good dining options are at least 30 mins away.) During nice weather the falls are gorgeous to hike up to and the park is fun to explore, but take note if you have children with you and the weather isn't great, there's not much for them to do. The park itself is beautiful and well worth a trip! And I truly believe the lodge could be brought back to life with a few changes.

This is a Southern Restaurant in a southern town. So I opted for a Shepherd's Pie from the St Paddy's Day menu. Yeah, go figure. It was rather bland. When I make this dish, I use ample cream in the potatoes (Irish style) and make a thicker, more moist pie, with a good deal of tomato in it. This was a bland substitute. Far better the next day when I added in enough butter to make the potatoes shine. I will give props for using lamb on this. She had the salmon patties. Fairly simple, also rather bland. Mashed potatoes as well. Breading on the okra was fine. Staff? Very friendly waiter. Answered all the questions and even described the drinks. As this has a good craft beer selection, I opted for one I had not had before and she got a smokey old fashioned. The old fasthioned did not have the cherries or orange peel you would normally see, but was rather strong and did use a rye whiskey. I would not go there for the drink, but reasonably priced. The ambiance is great. Typical of Rome, GA establishments, you can feel the history. They also have a rooftop bar and a separate bar area, for those seeking out a drink or two. Summary: The experience was good, but the food was bland. If you like to heavily salt your food, this might not be as big of a deal. On the whole, 3 stars, for average. Compared to other places in Rome, some of which are really bad, you would prefer this to many places. Nothing really bad to say, but nothing really good. Just average.
