Build Your Own Bowl and Regular Pita
    Laura E.

I first became familiar with Roti about a decade ago when I lived two blocks from the Foggy Bottom location in Washington DC. I had some spare time between interviews and needed a quick lunch. I got the create your own bowl with rice, falafel, tomatoes, olives, and pickled onions. The sauces I got were tahini and red pepper. Bowl was tasty and filling. The pita bread that came on the side was the best I've had. Restaurant was empty when I arrived. Service was quick and friendly. Only downside was the noise, which made communication difficult. Prices are reasonable. Would go back for a quick, healthy meal.

    Inside. Order at the counter.

Fast service. There was no line when I stopped in for a late lunch. The food was warm and flavorful. Bright & bold sauces and numerous optional items to add to the bowl. Pita bread is included. This place offers a nice variation to the standard fast casual food options out there.

skirt steak and brussels bowl, with the bread that was originally left out

Roti is like a Mediterranean version of Chipotle where you can make salads, bowls, or pitas by choosing for yourself, or you can use set combinations. I chose the skirt steak and Brussels sprouts bowl, which uses saffron rice as the foundation for sumac skirt steak, lemony Brussels sprouts, grape tomatoes, olives, and garlic sauce. As I was part of a group getting food to go, it was nice to order food that was assembled fast. I was pretty happy with how things went until I saw my companion behind me ordered the same thing as me, and he got bread and I had not. I had to go back to the counter to request that, and the guy didn't apologize but instead looked peeved. I found the food to be fine. Very flavorful, the ingredients fresh. It was nicely filling. If it wasn't for the omission and how it was handled, I would give it 5 stars, but I wasn't left with a good impression.

Ordered while BOGO and it did not disappoint. Flavors were amazing and portions were plentiful. I highly recommend this place for Mediterranean food.

    Chicken Bowl

Came here after a tough gym workout session in search a healthy meal. I found just that! I ordered a spicy chicken bowl. (can't remember the exact name of the dish), it came with chickpeas, tomatoes, cucumbers, pickled onions, cilantro/parsley, and i ordered some garlic sauce to drizzle over top. It was delicious! My only complaint would be that some of the ingredients could have been more fresh, but everything tasted good and I'd definitely come back again if I was looking for a quick and healthy lunch. The staff here is very friendly, and it seems to be kept very clean. It is set up similar to chipotle or subway style where you have an assembly line and simply choose the ingredients you would like to add to your dish. Thanks!

One of my favorite counter service spot for a salad with a kick. They serve modern Mediterranean inspired salads plus pita bread. They have different bowl options and greens, the protein, then all the topping, and dressings which are more flavorful and spicy if you like that. I usually add humus (complimentary) and the red spicy sauce with the marinaded grill chicken. My friend got the salmon which was still tender. Wish we have more locations in the Twin Cities since the Edina location closed due to the covid shutdown.

I've been missing my usual modern Mediterranean place because I'm still not comfortable eating in restaurants and it's too far away to travel well enough to make the commute for takeout. I wanted some good Mediterranean so I decided to give Roti a try. I am SO glad I did. In fact, this is my second night in a row having Roti for dinner because I was so happy with how it tasted last night! I ordered a build your own laffa wrap both times, with falafel as my main filling. The falafel is AMAZING. It's got such great flavor. I also like the other options you can get inside the wrap. Their veggies are all fresh and flavorful. I got a combination of the garlic and dill sauces and it is so delicious! The best part is, these wraps are stuffed full so you won't finish your meal hungry! I can't wait until I can safely eat out again so I can try this fresh at the restaurant. This is definitely going to be one of my new go-tos for takeout in the meantime!

10/4/22: Overall 1.5 stars. The first time we came to this franchise (different location), it was so good that of course we wanted to come back. This was our first and last time at this location, and quite frankly, after this dining experience, we may be done with Roti, as the quality seems to have gone downhill (as stated to me from my friends who live in the Twin Cities). You walk in & order like a Chipotle and pay at the register, then you go up to get your food. First, I'll start with the positives. It's unlimited selections of sides, toppings & sauces and if it ended up being a good meal, the prices would've been fair. So they charge surcharges for almost all of the proteins now. When we got our food, it was BARELY lukewarm and the bread (which used to be good) wasn't warm either. And bland. Overall, our meals were just blah and I feel like I wasted money. And the falafel was extremely dry. We would've been better off going to the Costco food court, in the same parking lot! This was a very disappointing meal and a waste of money. I probably should've complained, but there was a line of customers that came in after us, so I didn't want to wait. Also, their bathrooms need to be cleaned! I suppose this could've been a fluke...or who knows, maybe they are just that bad now at all locations. But at these prices, I don't wanna take a chance at coming back, just to flush more money down the toilet. Not that $11.50 per bowl is a ton of money, but for a fast food type of place, it's not cheap either. Bummed, cuz we did love it the first time (Edina location). But this St. Louis Park location, truly misses the mark. I'll be nice & round up to 2 stars though, as I try to save clicking the 1 star button for rude workers, and no one was rude here. The complaint was solely on the temperature/quality of the meal.

There is construction actively going on due to the new train station with denser housing and businesses being built, so be aware when you drive in. The establishment is not a vibe, it's an American dream in the making. The building is rustic as food is filling. The staff was brisk in taking orders and the environment is lively. Some places to sit, but more of a take out kinda place. I ordered a Sambusa and Goat Meat plate with rice. I'm still new to E African cuisine, so my reviews is more biased with my background versus experience. Sambusa; fried patty filled with meat which I'm gonna assume is beef? It has a nice spicy kick to it, but is drier than my preference. Nice and crispy. Goat Meat with Rice; the star of my dinner and my favorite of the 2. It comes with a salad which is forgettable. The real appeal is the tender goat atop the rice. The rice soaks up the juice and is so flavorful. The goat has bones, so can be annoying to some diners, but allows for a richer flavor. It appears to be pressure cooked finished off with a tomato and onion stir-fry, the crunch of the onions pairs well with the tenderness of the goat. Fun place to pick up food to eat at home if you're tired of cooking. Would stop by and try the other dishes.

The gyro meat here is, IMO the true star, and when paired with their fresh lettuce, tomato, red onion and sauces it truly shines.
