My mom and I stopped in here after a long day walking around Ridgedale, and it's a hidden treasure! It's in a little nook on the second floor of Nordstrom, it feels like an upscale cafe! Very good vibes for a quick brunch or lunch - I wish I came here with girlfriends and ordered little spritzes and apps. Service was great - very fast and our server was super attentive. We were in and out in about 30ish minutes, but we could've stayed if we wanted to! The hostess was incredibly sweet and kind, really stood out. For food, we started with the Brussels Sprout appetizer. It was delicious! The sprouts were perfectly roasted and crisp, and the spiced cashews were a great addition. I loved that this was a step away from the usual goat cheese and honey brussels sprout starters. We also split the Turkey Club - even better that they split it and the side salad for us! Wow, this is a cool looking restaurant. It's in Nordstroms with huge windows and a nice open floor plan. The service was fast and the servers seemed to help each other out which speaks to a positive atmosphere. The prices are somewhat high and maybe justified for the service, but not the food. My turkey sandwich hardly had any filling and the bread was more dry than toasted. My wife's salmon was good but was on a base of something tasteless. The pizza was very good and the least expensive thing on the menu. Come for the service and ambience, but order the pizza. read more

This location is a hidden treasure. It has a very upscale feel to it while the location is set in a mall. The food is pretty good and the staff is very friendly. There is a great window view if you sit by it and it's nice and quiet. We only ran into one issue which was the cooks fault and not anyone else's. My wife ordered a sandwich without avocado because she is allergic. When the order came our server noticed that it had avocado on it as he set it down. He quickly apologized and took it back. The cooks in the back just wiped it off the sand which and sent it back out. When we received it there was still smeared avocado on the sandwich where the cooks knife didn't get it off. We did a networking event at Ruscello and it was quiet lovely. Service was excellent. Our group was well taken care of and we basically took over one half of the place. For food we had a buffet style and included brussel sprouts, Asian glazed chicken salad, chicken meatballs, homemade pizza, and cookies. The food was excellent. I really liked the Asian chicken salad. Crisp, colorful veggies and zesty dressing made the salad quite tasty. The brussel sprouts were roasted and the flavor and texture was yummy. I went here with my father and my sister, and we had a nice time. The service was amazing, and everyone was extremely nice! The food was very good, especially the bread. I absolutely adore bread, but the butter was even better. It was creamy and had a little of parsley and salt, which made it amazing. Hidden in the back of Nordstrom is a reasonable all-around eatery in Ruscello. It's a very nice, quaint little venue with a small but suitable menu. Service was very prompt, and we started with the Heirloom Tomatoes & Burrata. This was a fantastic, light starter that I would order on any repeat visit! From there, I tried the Chicken Parm Sandwich. It was nothing I'd write home about but tasted almost exactly like you'd expect if you put Chicken Parm on a sandwich. Which is good because that's basically exactly what it is. I personally thought the burger tasted better. The fries were also quite good, especially paired with their garlic aioli. All in all, Ruscello is a nice little find in the Ridgedale area that you wouldn't really expect. Don't expect food that blows you away, but prompt service, reasonable prices, and dishes that get you by especially for lunch. read more

We brought a large group here once and everyone loved their food. What a charming restaurant! We came here on a quiet afternoon, and had wonderful service and great food. Tucked away in Nordstrom, the big windows provide great sunlight (weather permitting). Ruscello seems like a hidden secret, and is truly worth stopping in to avoid the busy chain restaurants and food court food. I had the daily special, a lamb gnocchi, and I was thrilled. Made a stop while shopping at Ridgedale for a light lunch at Ruscello. The two salads we ordered were both delicious. Between the salmon salad and the shrimp and arugula sweet corn salad, both were delicious! The dressing on the salmon salad made more of an impact, but I loved the polenta croutons of the shrimp Salad. Both of the fish on top were prepared well! I ended the meal full without finishing my salad (possibly due to the bread to start). The dining area is also quite lovely & charming. The people scene is perhaps on the older side, but the drink menu caters to that. If you're looking for a healthy sit down option in Ridgedale, or simply the area, stop in. read more

Delicious Niçoise salad. The salmon is slathered with a generous blanket of herbs that keeps the fish nice and moist. Roasted potatoes are crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. It's a highly proficient and flavorful salad. They are pretty stingy with the bread. The basket contains just one tiny piece of bread, even smaller than the lump of butter. But don't try to ask for more - they actually have a policy against that. The server said it takes 10 minutes for them to heat up each piece of bread, and only after I prove that I've finished eating that first itty bitty piece, is she allowed to accept a request to put a second chunk in the oven. I have never heard anything so absurd. Four stars for the salad. You'll have to bring your own bread. read more

I stopped for lunch the day Nordstroms opened. It was pretty full already at 11:30 a.m. and decided to sit at the bar (it's open seating there). It was the first day for them and staff seemed overwhelmed already but my server was attentive and was able to talk through the drink menu well. I decided to order the vine street (refreshing + delish) and the nicoise salad (nice sized salmon, very flavorful). The food was outstanding and service was good. When I left at about 12:30 there was an hour wait for a table. I'm only giving 4 stars to give them a chance to iron out the kinks. Nordstrom's opened at Ridgedale and the crowds came. All I can say is don't forget about Ruscello's. It's located on the second floor. I absolutely love this place. There are a few downfalls but overall it's a great place to dine. There are a lot of healthy options on the menu and the food hass been delicious each time I've been. There vegetable salad is unique and oh so tasty! I prefer it without meat but you can always add chicken or salmon if you're looking for a protein. The pear and walnut salad is a good option too. My hubby's go to is the pork sandwich with a jalapeño ciabatta roll. "A little on the spicy side", he says but delicious. They offer "half portions" on any item that you can split so just ask if you're looking for a smaller portion. Although I really like this place store hours can interfere with dining and get a little tricky since there is no outside entrance to the restaurant. The only way in is thru the store. So consequently that have to adapt to store hours. For lunch it really doesn't have any bearing but if it's 9pm you better be done with dinner because that's when the store closes. That can be slightly annoying. They have a decent wine list but I was shocked by their beer selection. Only a handful of canned beers to choose from and no beers on tap. But rumor has it changes are in the works. Maybe even a happy hour and expanding their beer selection so stay tuned. read more

We decided to find a place to eat on a Friday night. Searched Open Table and found Ruscello at Nordstrom's at Ridgedale. Made a reservation 30 min ahead of time. So, Ruscello had my reservation, name and phone number at this point. It took us 20 min to get to Ruscello. We check in and are told "We have your table but the kitchen is backed up so we cannot take your order for at least an hour. Would you like to be seated?" Umm, no. Cancel our reservation. We are leaving. Hey, Ruscello! You took our reservation knowing that you could not serve us for over an hour. Are you kidding me? You could not call me or text me telling me about the issue? Betty brought us different drinks and when he asked for the correct drink, Betty snapped and said "you need to speak up, I've had three ear surgeries." If I were cook or chef here, I would be extremely upset with the service staff not preforming as well as the delicious meals that are created in the kitchen. It's too bad it takes over 15 minutes to be served by a room filled with more staff members than guests in the restaurant. My first visit was amazing. It was a busy time during lunch a well. Everything was excellent. My second visit was a disaster. It was a slower time of day and only about a quarter of the restaurant was filled with guests. Many servers walk by; no eye contact, no communication. It wasn't until we said something that we finally received service. If only the host apologize when we got their attention for assistance. #coachingmomment Apologize for that table not being served promptly. And host, be mindful of how long a guest sat before being served; if it's been even 5 minutes, go to the table and ask if they've been helped and apologize if the answer is no. read more

The new fancier version of Nordstrom Market Cafe located at the Nordstrom in Ridgedale mall. Hiding on a second floor of Nordstrom, it's easily overlooked but I'd say worth looking for. It's a nice dining option if you're tired of eating at the food court. Don't expect food court prices however! You are at Nordstrom, after all! Everything is overpriced. The food itself is not bad at all. Most of their menu items are tasty, the presentation is what you're really paying for because the food looks beautiful and so does the restaurant with their giant windows and natural light, beautiful bar, and a full view of the kitchen. The portions are ok. They're really striving for a high end feel to their food which means it looks pretty but there's not a whole lot to munch on. The little bit you get does taste good though! My absolute favorite is the Roma Tomato Basil soup! It's amazing!! Hands down one of the most delicious tomato soups I've had anywhere! Get it! Try it! You won't be disappointed! They even sell a jar of it to take home with you!! And you might just end up doing that! I've had their Tempura Artichoke Hearts which I'm not sure they still have, but they were good. Definitely overpriced and therefore not really worth it but tasted good! The Ruscello burger is not bad, again, not a kind of burger I want to pay $14 for but it did the job of making me not hungry. It was cooked well and was flavorful. I've had desert here before, which must have been a limited time thing because they don't have desert anymore as far as looking at the menu now. What they also don't have anymore is their Chicken Gnocchi which was again....good. I've had most their pastas and sandwiches at the MOA location and they didn't disappoint but didn't wow either. Ruscello has a nice ambiance and a nice presentation of food...so be ready to pay for it. Your food won't taste bad by any means but it's not a spot you're going to want to keep coming back to (unless it's for that damn tomato soup...yum). And if you get really hungry while shopping and are better than the food court, come here and feel fancy af. read more

I was surprised to find a restaurant in the back of Nordstrom's but that didn't seem to stop the place from filling up around dinner time. I arrived for an early dinner but by the time I was done, around 6:30, the place was busy. My waitress was really nice and prompt. I got the chicken mozzarella ciabatta sandwich with the chips. I can honestly say this sandwich was amazing. The balsamic glaze and pesto aioli complemented each other very well and mozzarella is always a plus. The one thing I will mention is that my chicken wasn't warm enough for my liking, it was clearly cooked but I am personally not a fan of room temp chicken. I would recommend asking them to quickly heat the chicken on the stove for an even better meal. At the end they give you mini chocolate pretzel sticks to take home. read more

This restaurant is fantastik! It's so pretty, with so much natural light that I had to wear sunglasses while I was eating. The bruh-skitta was served with THE biggest knife I've ever seen, but it was fun to assemble. It was served with an odd dressing that seemingly paired the flavors together wonderfully. But, BEWARE of Mary Anne! I asked for a water refill, since I wasn't able to pour the pitcher of water myself because I received a wrist transplant the other day. So, she poured my water ALL the way to the brim. I was so perplexed!!! The service wasn't all that great either, we wait forever for a waiter to come to our table. The craziest dining incident I ever had: I came here for dinner with three friends and my child. The ambiance is nice in the evening, appearing fancier than the daytime photos, even good for a date night. The food was good, our server Caroline was gracious, knew her wines, and was very nice. But the food took a really long time to come out, and once it came we were about halfway through our dinner and a maitre'd walked up to our table and says, and I quote, "good evening, How is everything? I'm letting you know the restaurant closes in ten minutes and if everyone isn't gone by then you will be escorted out. Thank you. (Smiles)" It was really shocking. It escalated so quickly from is everything wonderful to threats of being escorted out. We were speechless. One member of our party mentioned our dissatisfaction with this to our server and she was very gracious about it and explained that the attached department store has to close and therefore restaurant closing time is firm, which is understandable. But the solution (short of adding an outside entrance which would be the best thing) is to stop seating people earlier and/or let patrons know about the closing situation upon seating, NOT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE MEAL. Which we waited a really long time for. And never should patrons be threatened with ejection unawares! Out of nowhere! They really need to omit the threat of being escorted from the premises from their get-the-f-out spiel. That is not hospitality and it's totally unacceptable. We scarfed down our food and had to ask for boxes. I've never chewed salad that fast before. It was super comical, yet not cool. And it's not like we were the last table occupied either. You know, I would love to give a four star but I just couldn't. The server did not take the previous persons check when we sat down. We did not get silverware and had to ask for the previous check to be removed and for tableware upon our food being served. I ordered the grilled vegetable salad and generally it was okay. The flavor of the vegetables was good, but I thought a lemon was an interesting choice to put on the side of the plate considering that the salad dressing was balsamic and also had the acid of tomatoes. The little one had mac and cheese with fruit. I will say the amount of fruit served was a sad excuse. All grapes and a quarter of a strawberry. The mac and cheese seemed a bit off and I was not sure if the cheese portion was boxed. With two salads and a mac and cheese the total came to 29.77, which I must say was way to much for the portion size. The server also did not thank us for service today and seemed to just walk away after closing out our check. All I can say is that the atmosphere is pleasant, clean and I was saddened by the built up expectation. read more

Just run away, find another restaurant at Ridgedale, and don't look back... here's what happened to us: Sit down, practically empty, and 5 minutes go by without anyone coming to our table. Multiple servers walking around see us, but don't say anything. I finally get the attention of the host and ask (politely) if anyone is serving our area. Instead of apologizing, the host says "uh yeah, I'm getting your waters for you" and walks away. He talks to a waitress in the back, who comes up and is super polite at first, but takes one look at us after my fiancée orders a drink from the specials, and says "yeah, uh, you know that drink is $18." Uh... yes, we do, we ordered it last time (with a WAY better service experience). She says she'll heat up some bread, a few minutes later it comes out, and is cold. Then she brings a glass of regular red wine, and not the actual special wine cocktail we had ordered. Guess what we got charged for, despite getting the wrong (cheaper) drink? The food here was fantastic. I ordered the beef barley soup and a Caesar salad, both of which were very fresh, well presented, and tasty. There were four of us dining, and no one left disappointed. The ambience was surprisingly upscale and relaxing, considering the restaurant is located in a Nordstrom's. We had a booth by the window, which was especially nice on a sunny spring afternoon. Good food, service not so much! At lunch today I specifically ordered the salmon with roasted veggies and farro (and pointed to it). When the food came out I was given the Niçoise salad with salmon. I promptly told the food runner it was not what I ordered, and when the server came by confused he said "you ordered the salmon Niçoise salad, to which I said no I ordered (see above). He then went back to the kitchen came out and blamed me for the mistake, said that because they have two salmon dishes I should have been more precise! Simply an amazing restaurant that is inside Nordstroms. They bring out the bread with oil and olives, sooooooooo good. Zion ordered the salmon salad, and I ordered the risotto with asparas and shrimp. One of the best meals I've ever had in my life. And to say that and have the experience in a restaurant inside a retail store....wow, that's weird. But it's true. Their food is sooooooooooooooooooooo good. It's a beautiful place, and the lighting is strategically placed so you can actually see what you are eating. My food came out piping hot. I want more right now. Then I ordered the cheescake for desert. It was light and creamy and not too sweet. With drizzled freshly made caramel. HOLY SHIT. Yes that's right, holy shit. One of the best deserts I've ever had in my life, too. And the service was atttentive and nice. It made my night! My tummy was very happy, and my tongue was too.
