Just be aware, this company cannot even schedule an appointment correctly. When I called for an emergency service, they said they will have someone arriving in 2 hours but after waited 2 hours in midnight nothing happened. Then I called and they told me it is scheduled for tomorrow night. Well then what is the point of an "emergency service"? So I highly doubt if they can do plumbing right if such human error can be made. I'll avoid them in the future. Add: how interesting that for every negative reviews they will claim "we cannot find the records" conveniently as a strategy to disqualify your comment instead of correcting their own issue! Dishonesty to the extreme. There are lots of honest plumbers in the valley but this one definitely ain't one. When I asked what the labor rate was based on (estimate of hours?), I was told that was the rate whether the job took 1/2 hour or the whole day. I was also told if I called and asked for a quote from another Roto Rooter plumber the rate would be higher. The job was completed by another plumbing company in 2 hours so Roto Rooter was looking to charge $600 per hour. Our garbage disposal stopped working so I made an appointment and they came out the next day. The two gentlemen were polite and within the window they said they would arrive. When I showed them the disposal, they flipped the switch and it didn't work - like I said it wouldn't. They then said it would cost $500 to take it apart to find the jam and if it was broken it'd be $1000+ to replace. I told them $500 was a lot and I'd take a look at it myself. The immediately said "Well what about $350" which honestly made me angry because it was telling I was being ripped off. I said no thank you and they left. I looked at the side of the garbage disposal and punch the model number into google. A video on InSinkerators website popped up. It was a 1 minute and 20 second video that showed how to unjam the disposal. All you do is take a size 6mm Allen key and turn it three times in each direction and click the red button at the bottom. BOOM. Disposals working as good as new. The whole process took less than 3 minutes for someone who has 0 plumbing experience. These plumbers had to have known of this very very simple and standard fix. I cannot stand businesses that are intentionally dishonest, deceitful and steal from people who don't know any better. Please do not ever call this company if you wish to have fair and honest business. Roto-Rooter you should be ashamed. I know that if I had let these gentlemen go forward I would've been billed $1000+ for something that would've taken 5 minutes. Disgusting, deceitful, dishonest and lazy. read more

We recently had a major plumbing issue crop up (a blocked pipe between the house and city sewer) late on a Saturday. We called Roto-Rooter, and they had a technician come out within the hour and he cleared the pipe as far as he could; the next day, Curt (excellent, pleasant, professional, and efficient) from RR came out with a camera and ran it through the pipe until it could go no further (hence the problem). It became obvious there was a major blockage that would have to be dealt with. Curt stayed on this issue until it was fixed, always communicating the status with us. Due to location of the blockage, and the presence of numerous pipes and conduits buried in the direct path of the repair (which ruled out a back-hoe )they were forced to call in Wolverine who vaccuumed and flushed the pipe with water; problem solved. Even though there was much digging and movement of dirt, removal of a sidewalk slab, and filling in a large hole with slurry, after the job was done, you'd never know they were there. We could not be happier with the service they provided, quickly restoring the ability to flush the toilets, run water in the sinks, etc. The bill naturally increased with the additiion of another company, and thus more labor, but every bit if it was explained, and approved by us. Inexpensive it wasn't, but there was an enormous amount of work to be done. Curt and Roto-Rooter did exactly what was needed, and did it well. read more

My water heater was not working, and I lined up Roto-Rooter to come out and hopefully repair it. The technician showed up a little late, no big deal, and I explained the issue, it wasn't heating the water. He did not troubleshoot; he wanted to replace the tank. I told him, it's not even two years old. He said this way you get a new tank since it's under warranty. Only the tank was under warranty so I would be on the hook for the labor. He wanted $1,400 for the install but I only paid $1,500 for the tank and the install less than two years ago. I kept asking questions about just checking to see if everything is working properly and finally, I asked about the power since both thermostats were not working. He said it should be on a breaker, so I said let's go check it out and sure enough, the breaker had flipped and when I reset it the problem was solved. I will say that I probably should have checked that prior to calling and that's on me but my issue is that as a technician that would probably be the first thing you check rather than going straight for the kill with a new tank. read more

Had a horrible experience with this company when we had a kitchen drain pipe leak behind the wall. Roto-Rooter initially quoted us $1500-$3500 for the water restoration and assured us the insurance would cover but it ended up not being covered and them charging us nearly $6000. This did not include the actual fix to the drain pipe at a grand and and another grand for hydro jetting the sewer line. They also charge use us $600 to redo the water lines for the sink in preparation for the kitchen rebuild but twice did it incorrectly. The contractors for the rebuild just had to redo it themselves because Roto-Rooter could not do it right. We had been regular customers of this company for many years because they had typically did a good job for us but this last experience was so terrible. They have lost a customer with us. read more

I called Roto Rooter to snake my bathroom sink. I have a regular plumber but thought this would be quicker. Unfortunately, the Roto Rooter tech who came out said he didn't need to snake the sink but told me he needed to replace pipe, dig into the wall and the estimate for services was $1,500. I called my regular plumber and he completed the service for $125.00. BEWARE when calling these guys. Not sure what their tech training includes but it doesn't seem like they know about plumbing issues...AT ALL!!! read more

So they came out gave me a price of about 640 to unclog my drains Worked on them for almost five hours over two days They were unable to unclog the toilets bath tub shower etc because they said no clean out Refused to go on roof because of liability they proceed to give me a bid of 10,500 dollars to dig up my driveway and put in a clean out and maybe repair collapsed pipes I said no thanks and called another plumber who went on roof with his snake and cleaned out stoppage at a cost of 560 dollars I think they should refund my money. I have called multiple times and repeatedly been told I was "next in line" and that the dispatch still hadn't heard from their plumbers. I was contacted about my review and was asked by my original contact if I would be willing to let them come back out and look at my house. Two gentlemen did come to my house and they were going to talk to the insurance company once again .I am concerned that since it's been many days since they came that the insurance company is not going to reimburse me for the job that was done in 2018 although it's cost me more than an additional $7,000 for the plumbing to be fixed by another company. If I could give negative stars, I would STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE AT ALL COSTS and go to an honest handyman type company for simple jobs- not only was I quoted 417$ within 2 minutes of a clogged kitchen drain. Then man showed up an hour late out of estimated arrival time! And when he got here he was looking very unsanitary no gloves and booties or other sanitation methods as explained on their website! I kept calling and the receptionist kept lying saying the plumber is 5 minutes away, 2 minutes away etc and also then he stopped to get gas.... Bill and Joshua came out to clear my clogged sewer drain. They ended up breaking their cable inside my sewer line from the house to the street. They attempted to remove it, couldn't, then cut the cable to their machine then left me and my home with the cable stuffed inside the sewer line. We have no bathrooms or toilets working and their answer was an estimate for $7,000 to free the cable they left inside the line. They are unlicensed and unreputable. read more

Roto Rooter charged me $592 to clear my pipe. They told me they couldn't go through the roof access (via company policy) so they attempted to clear the pipe via toilet access.This didn't work and I was informed not to use my water and that I needed a more extensive service of $7-10,000. I then had Rooter Ranger come out to see if they could clear the pipe. They cleared it via the roof access enough that I can now use toilets and sinks. They charged me $147.00 for this. I was overcharged by Roto Rooter by $445 for a poorly completed job. read more
