3-2-1 Yep, as my fellow yelpers follow, you'll see this is the order of my stars for Rotolos in my reviews. A restaurant, especially in the beginning, could start off slow (e.g. lower star ratings), but once the kinks are worked out- ratings usually rise (more stars). Makes simple business sense, right? Unfortunately, it seems as though Rotolos may be owned by absentee investors. (This is merely what a disgruntled bartender told me one night). With this said, (if true) it may explain why the service is downright atrocious at this particular Rotolos. Seriously, if you want the most aloof servers / bartenders, that think they're entitled to tips, based on having a pulse, and zero people skills, then by all means, come to Rotolos! A few visits ago, my pizza came out in the shape of a mangled football. The server, in what seemed like a stoned laugh, just placed it on the table and mumbled something derogatory about the cooks. Seriously, a football shaped pizza? On another night, the electricity went out, which froze the computers, so the bartender said "Fuck it; everything is free!" On my last visit, while sitting at the bar, ordering take-out, the homely female bartender might've said two words, and just tossed my pizza on the bar (no eye contact) with my check. For about the fifth time, I had to point out that they clearly have Happy Hour pricing on their beers (Advertised on ALL TV screens), but EVERY SINGLE TIME, the receipt never reflects Happy Hour pricing. Will Management please fix this? Too bad, as when the food is actually warm, and there is even an amateur level of attentiveness to the quality, it is decent food. Beware.. don't order the chicken Parmesan. The chicken there is a frozen chicken patty that tastes like a heated up frozen chicken nugget with overly sweet red sauce and cheese melted on top. First time at Rotolo's, the pizza was SO delicious! I'd give this place five stars all day, every day...BUT. We were there for lunch and it took more than a half an hour for two 8-inch pizzas to come out. They were fresh and hot, so it wasn't like they were sitting around, but that's way too long for a week day lunch. They messed up our pizza three times and didn't ever fix it. The server was kind but sort of slow to respond and help us with our bad food. We asked to substitute a few simple things and every time they brought out our pizza it was the wrong order or completely ruined. We got an appetizer and a pizza and we waited over an hour to never get a correct Pizza. When our pizza came out the last time our server said "do you really want the kitchen to remake your pizza again?" And that was our last straw we decided to leave because they seem to not be able to get our order right no matter how many times we tried. We've been to Rotolo's about 10 times and three of the 10 times our pizza has come out completely wrong by the end of the night. We were disappointed and upset. They said we would take the pizza off your tab but that's a given because you didn't give us the pizza we ordered! We paid full price for the appetizer and for two ranches when the least they could do is waive the bill because we waited there for over an hour to not get our entree. We had company as well and they just watched us get our pizza incorrect three times and they were dumbfounded. I generally recommend this place but I don't know if I would come back with this experience!!! read more

Went there for lunch today, called in my order so I could eat during my break. The only other customers in the store were 3 guys at the bar. The female employees were too busy talking and flirting with them to ever come back to my table after dropping off my food. I never got a refill had to go up to the bar before I left to ask for one. Calzone had almost no cheese in it. I've had bad experiences here before and this was the nail in the coffin not to come back. read more

The calzone was fantastic. Best I've ever had. My wife had the garden afresh wrap. She loved it. Our son had the 8" pizza. Fairly priced and plenty of food. The only negative was that my calzone came with mushrooms which I didn't order, but I was willing to eat them (and pay for them) anyway. Good service. Fun environment. Normally, I like Rotolo's pizza, but last night our family ordered pasta. We first walked in (2 adults, 2 children) ahead of two other people. They were seated ahead of us in a booth. We were seated right behind them. Strange, but okay. Our server was nice, but very slow. It took a while for him to come back to take our order. Between the time he placed the order and when we left, it was one hour. Having children six and two years old, that is an eternity. I ordered the Pasta Rustica ($11.99), because it sounded like a Romano's Macaroni Grill dish I loved. The sauce was not good. It resembled Spaghetti-O's sauce on pene pasta with large Italian sausage that goes on their pizza. We ordered chicken alfredo from the children's menu $5.99 and asked for a plate for them to split. The server brought us the adult version of Chicken Alfredo for $12.99. This tasted good, but was too spicy for my children. We traded and they ate the Spaghetti-O Rustica pretty well. My wife ordered the Eggplant Parmesan and thought it was just okay. My wife and I also ordered a side Cesar salad for $2 each. Sounded like a great deal, but it was served on a saucer. Not a salad plate, but a saucer. Very tiny bit of lettuce and croutons. We were kind of laughing about it. We are not complainers, so I paid for the $12.99 meal ($7 over kid's price) and gave him a 20% tip on the inflated ticket price; however, we will not likely go back. Their pizza has always been pretty good, but the service is slow and jumbled (couple behind us was only brought one sandwich. Server asked them to share and brought an extra plate, until he could bring another sandwich). Pasta Rustica was horrible. Nothing like Macaroni Grill, but close in price. read more

The quality of the food here varies from day to day. Since the coof virus the quality of the experience has gone down. Before the coof we came here on a weekly basis and always enjoyed it. Since coof and since the quality of the food started becoming unpredictable, we go every few months. The quality of the service has also gone down. Service used to be very inviting and friendly. Rotolo's is tucked away in Tyler's new Cumberland Village. This joint has only been open a week, so I was not expecting perfection. I ordered take out, which was not ready when I arrived. No biggie, this gave me time to enjoy a brew. The bar is a bit cramped with room for seven patrons. I noticed TV's in abundance, so you won't miss a game. The draft selection was pretty good for Tyler, which arguably is a craft beer desert. I saw several IPA's including Lagunitas. The menu shows your basic pizza, wings, and salad fare. I was glad to see the pizza served up NY style rather than Chicago. If you like the nasty thick crust, go to BJ's. The sauce was a bit light for my taste, but the pizza not the slightest bit greasy. Overall, not a bad pie at all. I'm curious to give the wings a shot on my next visit. On the price side, $24 for a large pie is pretty damn high, considering you can get a large home delivery for less than $16. Bit of a gouge. read more

The WORST dining experience I've had in a long time. Maybe it was because we came at 6:30 with the height of dinner rush. The two of us were seated in the bar at a large table. Since it looked so busy we asked how long to get a pizza and the server told us about 25 minutes. We ordered a small salad and a cup of soup to hold us until the pizza arrived. 30+ minutes later--no soup, no salad, no pizza and no drink refills. Had to ask twice to get something to drink. The poor server was waiting on tables in the bar, the bar itself, and acting as cashier for take out. For crying out loud hire some more people! Management ought to be ashamed for not staffing more adequately. The server/bartender never apologized or even said thank you. For an establishment that focuses on customer service, they better rethink their slogan. When the tab arrived if was a correct and I gave her my card. When she brought it back she had charged my card for someone else's tab which was more than double our tab. Oh, I forgot about the food. But then again it was pretty forgettable. We had pizza and a flat bread. Nothing memorable. My advice---go to Bruno's or anywhere else in town! You're not missing anything by not going to Rotolo's. read more

I think maybe because Tyler has fought for years to get the city wet and now they charge an arm and leg for drinks. Lol. The pizza was gross for the most part. Hated their tomato/pizza sauce and the chef got a little too happy with it. It was too much. I was very disappointed. The bartender/waitress was not so bright. How do you mix up cards to your receipt? Yea, I got charged for my friends ticket and vice versa. Don't be dumb, pay attention! Now I've gotta make sure I don't get charged twice. We used to like going here. The wings are amazing and we've always had a decent experience. But they have been making changes lately. Tonight we went in with our 18 month old and they were busy but it took a ridiculously long time to get our drinks. It took 30 minutes and a talk with the manager to get our food. The parmesan bites that we ordered as an appetizer came after the food. The chicken parmesan came in a hot skillet that I refused because I have a toddler sitting next to me. They looked totally confused as to why I would object to a hot skillet next to a grabby toddler. The manager was apologetic didn't really do very much to make up for our terrible experience. Oh, and the food wasn't good either. And our table rocked back and forth with every movement we made. It will be a while before we give it a try again. read more
